Because pointing and laughing at people is the thing to do on the internet! (seriously, how are you still a moderator?)
  3. do you ship them out Gallimimus packs or just randomly pick stuff for the fun of it like TRU??
  4. this whole thread would of been much better if someone would of posted "this thread is gonna be really busy the next few days"

  6. I am telling all you guys that think this set is a flop and will not bring big money are making a " huge mistake", how can you think the price is not going to rise fast on this set, You guys that are still regretting not getting any or just a few SSD,HH,TH and others I just don't understand, and if the set is almost done just think what it will be selling for around Christmas, if the set last until the end of the year it still a great set for making good money. 7. If people are going to start buying from Amazon, at least help BP. There have been no deals or anything worth getting excited over for months AMAZON LINK: http://amzn.to/1IY3vyF TARGET LINK: http://goto.target.com/c/65738/81938/2092 WALMART LINK: LEGO 10188 at Walmart

Box redesign and all, looks like she ain't done yet. I remember around four months ago, some fool was posting that a 'high up' LEGO employee was certain that PC was going to be EOL in July... looks like that person would be eating the proverbial humble pie right 'bout now
  10. Unlike Pacific493, I did not buy the last two 10179 Millennium Falcons on Amazon. I listened to my wife. I had them in cart and asked her. I will never ask again.
  11. I have zero DSs, but don't think this set will flop, and don't believe that this set will not bring big money. It just doesn't fit into my investment strategy at this time to pick up this particular set. I feel the same about SSD, and have no regrets about selling my inventory earlier this year. I know you're as high on SSDs as you are on DSs. For all of your sakes, I hope it's selling great at Christmas time, and I hope that rumored replacement doesn't affect sales. For me, personally, with my investment strategy, I'm going in a different direction and I'm okay with that. I wouldn't say that anyone thinks it would flop; I think some of us feel that there is great risk vs reward here than in other places.
  12. The failure of that MOC is the death ray was not converted to a kitten ray.

  14. For folks who bought a DS at retail a minimum 30% profit on eBay will command a price tag of $650 + shipping. $650 is a lot of money for a Lego set, but there are folks out there who are ready to spend that much, and even more on an epic SW Lego set like the DS. However, how many of these folks are there really out there ? Versus the huge quantity of DS sets that must have been stored for resale since 2008 ? This is what really concerns me with this set. In addition, I don't think there is a reference from a past Lego set that combined that high of a price with such a long availability at retail. This is uncharted territory. I think that money right now is better invested in cheaper SW sets like the Red Five or EV.
  15. True that! All I will say is that if you want a 10188, now would be a good time to buy one. I think I have said that before though, so ignore me.
  16. Here you go...Well, maybe a little more than 2000 pieces.

    Another build, it was great!
  18. Doubt He can help with getting TB retired bit it's worth a shot.
  19. Maybe there is a tie-in for the new Death Star and the Angry Birds theme coming next year???
  20. Interesting coincidence.... SSD was marked as "retired" at LEGO Shop at Home August 18, 2014 . SSD was doing most of the dance (call to check, sold out, ships at) during July of 2014, with final sold out (or disappearance from site?) sometime around July 30 it did have fun transitions, such as from <Sold Out> to <Out of stock, expected ship date 15 Sep 2014>, from <Out of stock, expected ship date 15 Sep 2014> to <Sold Out>, from <Sold Out> to <Out of stock, expected ship date 6 Oct 2014> (these were on July 29) SSD had Sold out status before July 30, and people were able to place backorders July 30 that were later filled Last known USA run for SSD was 20R4

  24. But this is the PC thread :)
  25. It's gotta be the Sydney Wopera House or Shield Whelicarrier
  26. Rumors persist that the UCS Hoth set is in fact a UCS AT-AT. I have been hinting at this for months, but let's just get it out there. Maybe it's a Hoth set with an AT-AT. Maybe it's just a kick @$$ AT-AT. I have heard it form several good sources, so I think there is good chance of seeing an awesome set in the near future.
  27. If you want 1, now would be the time to get it
  28. I have a hard time fathoming why anyone would think that a new Death Star set sometime in the future would destroy the growth potential for this set. This is and always will be a unique set tied to one of the signature elements of the OT. If Lego does another Death Star set, it won't be the same and will, in all likelihood, be tied to the forthcoming movies. If you look at sets from the past, 6211 and the current ISD haven't hurt 10030 in retirement. 10188 didn't hurt 10143 in retirement. Oh boy...I think that I just talked myself into buying a few more.
  29. And there it is. We got a good old fashioned hootenany on our hands. Newbies, buy a ds.
  30. ah now I remember where I felt the regret from
  31. What are you talking about? You'll find one sitting on a shelf somewhere discounted 3 years from now.

Amazon 10188 Death Star now #2 in its group and #475 in Toys about a 50% increase in rank towards #1 since yesterday afternoon LOL This is fun if not anything else
  35. It did once for about an hour , if that .

Dang, of course this is the proper way to display a Flash minifig (with the red / yellow blur). It is so simple to do too, why didn't I think of it ? http://imgur.com/a/Mozxi#44
  37. OK, give us your thoughts. 500 words or more. No punctuation preferable.
  38. option 3 you don't care either way but keep buying and selling them while others decide if its retiring or not
  39. It's really quite simple, if you think it's going away, buy it...If you don't don't...easy...
  40. This is all about promoting prime, and clearing out some crap from the warehouse. My guess is we will see a handful of decent lego "lightning" deals that disappear in 10 minutes or less. now for anyone looking to stock up on flashlights, bad clothing, cheap hand tools and toys your grand mother buys, well nows a good time.
  41. Reports out of Japan say there is nothing too spectacular included for this sale. More reports will come in as this goes live across the globe.
  42. I agree. Sets sell for high prices because they are great sets. Remakes, if poorly done, will not out gain the classic sets they replaced. Older classic sets will hold their values until their ceiling is reached. Sets like the current AT-AT are poor choices. Only at nice discounts are they worth investing in. There are multiple other STAR WARS set that deserve your money, but a set like the AT-AT will be replaced soon with something much better. It took the Cafe Corner years to reach current levels. Sets take a breather at times.
  43. Reported as well.
  44. can't list under category Lego & shouldn't appear under Lego search...
  45. LOL...True that. Someone over at their headquarters with access to the S@H site is sitting back and having a grand old time. On a serious note, I have not seen this set reach the "Call to check availability" stage. Very interesting, mistake or not.
  46. LOLOL...It's given warning signals for 4 years.
