  1. Jabbas Palace + Rancor $250 Batcave $100
  2. have a feeling someone is going to be holding there PEE for a long time
  3. Winter Village Bakery 10216. Used from eBay. It was the last of the Winter Village sets that I needed. Everything else I've either already bought, or put together through BrickLink.
  4. Today I had a chance to sit back and put together a couple of sets from a lot I bought recently, 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty and 7623 Indiana Jones Temple Escape. Enjoyed building the ship, although it is very similar to the current Brick Bounty set. The Temple Escape recreates the scene from the movie well, but lacks the WOW factor for me...
  5. This is to keep an ongoing list of Star Wars sets that go in and out of stock at Lego.com to help people get an insight to when something might be hitting EOL. Let's try and keep it to sets that have at least been out in the market for at least 8 months. ----------------------- MTT went out of stock on Saturday, June 6th 2015. This is the second time i've noticed it go out of stock within a month. First time was during the May the 4th event when it was discounted for the event.. Ewok Village went out of Stock on Saturday, June 6th, 2015 and is listed as OOS Will ship in 30 days. This is the second time this year it has gone out of stock, with the first time being during the March 2xVIP event. It went out of stock during the last day of the promo, and was out for about 2 weeks.
  6. I finally cashed all my VIP points in plus $50US and picked up a Sandcrawler for me and the architecture studio for the wife. The bonus was since I missed out on the May the fourth promo, the manager (I believe) gave me a Darth Revan poly bag!

  8. I picked these two up today... Just jonzin to build some new Legos. I love the ghostbusters Ecto 1 it was a fun build...
  9. I would use clear RTV Silicon II. It will hold the pieces quite well, but you will be able to peel it off in the future.
  10. Wasn't there a whole movie about this? UNLEASH THE KRAGLE!
  11. Good luck. That thing was a tough sell even without an upcoming remake
  12. Personally I don't like it. Looks like a total mess to me. Many small components all over the place, no "main building". I mean the set's cover photo looks cool, but the actual set... just not my cup of tea. This one will probabaly land in my personal "Biggest INVESTMENT Losers of 2015" top 5.
  13. You're quite right and at the same time you aren't! I agree on the lines about what interests the kids and that we grew up with the OT and what's dear to our hearts. At the same time I wouldn't expect that kids will be the potential buyers of the sets I invested in. I know there are some kids with filthy rich parents who are ready to spend big money on anything including lego and this is our least of a problem. It goes without saying they're the last thing to worry about. But the fact is ....I would find it rather odd if a kid has £250-300 to spend a set like 7965! Where would that kid get this much money from? Main customers for this set even if not UCS will still be grown ups with collector's state of mind. That logic is probably true and applies for the little batman/friends/chima or anything boring as this where even 2-3 years down the line price stays pretty much flat cause buyers are kinds and very rarely collectors who wish to have every single set from a certain theme, even the most boring one. That's why I have no regrets when people say "kids this kids that" ....expensive and big sets are usually bought by adults aka AFOLs who have jobs or some sorts of income. No 10179 or SSD (or anything in that price range) is bought with savings from the grandma....
  14. I'm from the school of thought that if it's not in demand now, it probably won't ever be.
  15. This is one where it feels like Friends meets Creator and if there is one thing I enjoy from either theme, it would be the buildings (especially the storefronts) without a doubt. Now if only City were to give us a supermarket or dollar store even. The Friends theme has become a solid staple for LEGO (the company) in the same way City has. Actually they could have probably just called the line "Heartlake City" as that mainly is where the sets are centered around plus it can simply be looked upon as 'City for girls'. Picking the true winners will become an increasing challenge I imagine but with any luck a strong pattern may form right before our very eyes. I favor the houses and stores myself. Now whether those will turn good or bad with any sort of consistency remains to be seen. Anyway I am hoping for and figuring a $40 retail on this set considering other ones in a similar range.
  16. Received 15 R2D2 from our one of forum members. Well packed and comes in great condition. I even didn't pull them out but directly throw the whole boxes to my storage. I won't meet them again until Christmas season.
  17. LEGO Angry Birds Will Take Flight
  18. Not in your world.
  19. You mean there's other polybags out there other than Joker Bumper cars??
  20. Great news...My son and I love Angry Birds. I can see a ton of cool STAR WARS Angry Birds minifigures.
  21. was updated from oos 30 days to a ship date of the 21st, so like stock coming in a week or so. though its a crapshoot which orders will get filled when the stock its the warehouse....
  22. I like the fact you replied... just I do not like the content of your reply!

Here it is: I only bought a handful of these for investment and they were what I could find left at B&N when they had a 50% clearance plus membership and coupon discounts. I think I got them all for less than $20 each.
  24. Just the opposite. Why sugar coat it? She knows Darth Vader is a bad guy. There's antagonist in every cartoon / TV show / book / media.
  25. Plus, Little Jimmy might laugh at Little Johnny (for having that funny looking round dish) - and who's gonna want that.
  26. guys, another rule for investors .... dont let your your personal feelings of a set shadow its investment potential. dont need to buy 40 of these ... add 5 to your stock to diversify it ... if it tanks, youve got only 5 to deal with ... if it flys, then youll wish you had more ...
  27. Hoth Hahn, Jor El. They may do a rerelease of the Admiral with the new UCS DS that may really kill him.
  28. I did enjoy capturing this set. By far my favorite part of this build is the gyro sphere. A second bonus is that if you purchase two of these to build you can combine the sets to make a huge impound.
  29. It took a couple of 10 hours days to shoot and a full day of editing. I'm happy that you liked it.

  31. I believe same price but you get extra VIP points. I could be wrong 'cause ravenb99 is a magician...
  32. Very nice! Seeing these ships I sometimes almost get weak But I'm not so much into that theme. As for Indiana Jones... the whole theme was a little bit disappointing :-( I have the feeling as if they could have done better and that they should have done better!
  33. No discounts on pretty boxes. I prefer the ugly ducklings. Whats a sqfll? Cant keep up with all these new made up acronyms
  34. Anyone else find it funny with all the toilets & port-a-potties released lately in official LEGO sets? ....Seriously, what's with all the crappers? Oh sorry, I meant 'crapei'.
  35. Just want to say that this really worked out well tonight. Ed wound up receiving two bids. Contacted both parties and obtained sets from both of them (we both placed orders). It was really cool to get what you were looking for in a short period of time. I hope more people will try to use this feature or at least start paying attention to it because it can give you sales.
  36. Yes, I already agreed to a deal. Thanks for asking. It is a convenient feature though and I hope more people take advantage of it.

Agreed, and as an example of why this forum is so great, let me say thank you to BrickLegacy for the coupon today. I turned it into an Imperial Hotel. Thank you!
  38. I sold my first high dollar item! I sold my sealed r2 for $320 on Craigslist
  39. Jumping on the 75094 bandwagon I finished mine today. Sorry for the cheapo stand but I will make something out of either clear or blue, to mach the engines, translucents. I agree with PP a lot of technic that IMO does not make this a $100 set. The cockpit was a nice build and as stated so is the top fin. The wings seem like an after thought then the ones on the $60 75051 Jedi Scout are far superior. If this is a play set I could not see spending that much perhaps if you can pick it up at TRUT in the low 60s. Guess I am still going to have to pop the seals on my 10212 Tha

Welcome to the best forum in the universe.
  41. Someone has the buying bug! Be careful buying is the easy part....selling and making a good profit is the harder part.
  42. I've just started buying. Came home yesterday to a pile of boxes by the front door. Had a blast opening them after my son went to bed! Got two Ectos, a Parisian Restaurant, a Detective's Office and a Pet Shop. Still waiting on a Red 5 and a Palace Cinema. I can't wait to do more shopping this week.

Built this little R2-D2 buddy. Very quality build, the head was definitely most satisfaction. Wish I could bring him everywhere with me. He's a noisy little guy. Constantly beeping sarcastic quips at our television. Also has a tendency to save the day. Meep!

Somehow I think we can copy and paste all the posts from the 7965 topic and change the set number and it will save us two days of banter
  45. Better start hoarding those Friends planes... before Lego will retire this set and release a new one with a female pilot. Can you imagine the investment potential?

  48. There's that word again. "Heavy." Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the Earth's gravitational pull?
