No there is not. Political discussions are generally ... well ... not allowed. That forum is for (mostly) less volatile topics like video games, movies, and other stuff that can related to hobbies and such.3 points

I always liked the fable about the dog and his reflection in the water... something about bones. As far as supply and demand goes, the price is affected by perceived drop in demand. It's all speculation and too much emotion right now. This is the way of the stock market as well. Stick to your plans and leave the emotions on the shelf.2 points

Shipping cost to Spain is only 21 USD - you might be able to sell the product cheap but why would you subsidise shipping too? One way of catching scammers might be to see if they took the time to calculate foreign shipping accurately - very low values could set off alarm bells.2 points

I disagree. Keep in mind the RI has already doubled in price here down under. Smaller, popular sets tend to increase in price faster than larger ones. Look at the RI compared to the GE for example. They also sell faster due to a cheaper price point. I do, however agree that being a part of a theme has its appeal. By way of illustration, the Mixer will probably do better eol now that the Ferris wheel has come out.2 points

New Elementary posted a link on their facebook page to a huge update of new parts which were recently added to the Brickset database. This includes completely new elements, and existing elements in new colors.LINK: http://brickset.com/parts/new-03-06-2015I also did some analysis to see which parts are most interesting for fellow LEGO Architecture enthusiasts, especially folks like myself who enjoy the LEGO Architecture Studio set.I hope you find the new bricks interesting; I know I did. I'm especially interested in the new transparent plate with pin, which has a lot of potential uses.---tom2 points

Why are you worried? here's some comments made earlier about LEGO DELOREAN in that thread - Delorean is doing better than average at more than 2x MSRP on amazon and ebay 6 months post EOL. Delorean was discounted a long time and is cheaper. Both of these things lend it to being more hoarded. Ecto has never been discounted and costs more so might be less hoarded. I am expecting even better performance from ecto than the delorean. The day ECTO goes out of stock, the price on ebay will be $75 just to cover fees and shipping and will go up quickly from there. This set is targeted right at AFOL's with money. I don't expect this to go out of stock until December at the earliest and probably more like February based on Delorean longevity. But you never know....2 points

10196 GC (no box. excellent used condition with manuals) for $1,450. Only held onto it for 13 months for a nice profit and best of all, had a chance to build / review it.2 points

jeez. sauromosis beat me to it. at least i can list the sets with USD and CAD prices. ha Hoth Bricks has published the official set names of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens sets that are scheduled to be released on Force Friday, September 4th. We already knew the set numbers, the pricing, and number of pieces for the sets which came from BZPower but it’s nice to get confirmation of the set names now. Rey’s Speeder (75099) – 193 pieces $19.99 USD / $24.99 CAD First Order Snowspeeder (75100) – 444 pieces $39.99 USD / $49.99 CAD First Order Special Force TIE (75101) – 517 pieces $69.99 USD / $89.99 CAD Poe’s X-Wing Starfighter (75102) – 717 pieces $79.99 USD / $99.99 CAD First Order Transporter (75103) – 792 pieces $89.99 USD / $109.99 CAD Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle (75104) – 1004 pieces $119.99 USD / $149.99 CAD Millennium Falcon (75105) – 1332 pieces $149.99 USD / $179.99 CAD2 points

Sorry, I was just theorizing out loud. Not in response to your post actually. Some theories actually include Endor in winter and Kylo Ren searching for Darth Vader's grave.1 point

It's actually perfect timing to sell this thing, take the 100+% profit and reinvest in some soon to be retiring modulars or other exclusives.1 point

Palace Cinema backordered with VIP points to bring it down to $40. Got the winter soldier as well. I've never had any trouble with backorders. Only back odors.1 point

Two more 7965's which shipped this AM from WM.ca. Felt like grabbing a few more for a couple easy $'s via quick flip.1 point

Fwiw I pulled two more from a pile of SW sets that I had forgotten about. A quick scan of sales prices on my phone and listed them last night at $220 + shipping. So far 1 has sold. At an $80 buy in I'm pleased with the return. This bickering above reminds me of the phrase "Pigs get slaughtered.".1 point

There was a Stephen Rockefeller post from January IIRC saying to dump them by May. That could well have been very good advice if there is mass panic and the hoarders unleash them on the market all at once. I still say, let the storm pass and keep one under the bed.1 point

LEGO better makes UCS "A hundred ways to kill Jar Jar". Guaranteed flying off the shelves.1 point

And this, friends, is why I don't buy large sets from Wally World anymore.1 point

Not hardly. I don't know why I am responding to this, perhaps to help the six people that don't already know, this show has two things PoP didn't: Fans and Quality. I got a little worn out on it 2-3 years ago but that doesn't mean it is not any good. In fact, I would say BBT, the Marvel movies, and Lego are the three driving forces in America making geekery cool these days. You can borrow some from Lord Business and make it right!1 point

arrow* will bring up arrow and arrows...you can also do 3068* to get all variations. Helpful if you know the part type (and it's fairly unique for decorations). Doesn't help much in the case of a 2x2 tile.1 point

I do appreciate your advice but it does seem a bit odd to use 1/2 a page on an expensive brochure just to get rid of the last few units they have. Which arnt very expensive anyway. Either way, ive got enough of them1 point

This set is my biggest investment so far and I hope that it'll work out. If not I'll have to build chairs and tables with R2D2-LEGO modells I guess.1 point

Majority of the Lego stores I've been to seem to tell us that whatever set we're looking at is "retiring soon" so there's something in place...1 point

I did type a pretty long response to that, but I now erased it for my sanity, and that of the rest of the people reading this thread about LEGO. Let's not go into a political discussion where nobody is likely to convince the other side. The PR being dropped to 2 is interesting. I did buy one PC earlier 'just in case', to have one. I did enjoy the piece of mind. Now that fear of "missing a set I really want" starts to creep up because of the PR. Could it be? Naaah. But then - what's better, buying it now with the WS and selling that, or waiting for double VIP without promo? Probably now. But then there are other factors - like I could order another PS or PC. A lot of choices with P. I just cannot do all.1 point

Same here. I sold all of mine this past holiday around $225 plus shipping each. My average cost was $100. I probably cut bait a little too early, but I didn't want to be left scrambling to dump mine with everyone else once the re-release was officially announced. Now is the time to get out in my opinion. Put that money into something else. Even if you bought at retail you will still be making a decent profit, and I don't expect the 7965 to increase a lot more once the new version is released. Maybe once the first wave of episode 7 sets come and go, we may see the 7965 jump in value if collectors want an original trilogy version.1 point

Craigslist score of a lifetime. Loads of old pirate, including black seas barracuda, looks complete except for sails Loads of black falcon, forest men era castle. Loads of old town sets. Everything is clean and even semi sorted. Nicest lot at the best price so far. No mega blocks, q tips, or used chewing gum.1 point

Finally got my two lots from shopgoodwill. The first one was a pleasant surprise. It was listed as 28lbs of lego bionicle and I won it for 100bux just on the chance there was more to it than that. Found a 90% black pearl with all the minis. A complete 3181 passenger jet and 3182 airport. Found much of the 4440 police station. My son will get the bear, and tons of other minis. The second was an 18lb lot that I could just see the corner of a green grocer. Got it for 200 plus shipping. Went through and pulled all the sand green pieces and they are all there. Gonna Start sorting and Inventory on it Tomorrow. Out of the two lots I probably have around 100 minifigures that I will be selling to make my money back, mostly being star wars and all. All in all a good score.1 point
