  1. I built this on the ferry this afternoon. I haven't figured out where a few pieces go but this is good for now.
  2. Some QFLL 3 Admiral Whatshisface for $30 each on eBay 5 electro Polybags $16 each on eBay
  3. Geez...what does that even mean? Are you the CEO of B&Noble? Or are you a cashier. Do your job. Scan it. If it works, then it's supposed to work. Because someone much higher than your pay grade, with a permanent position in the company, programmed those machines to accept what it's supposed to accept. Glad you walked away. I wouldn't have time to deal with that either. Although, that would tempt me to complain to the people above her about her crappy customer service.
  4. the fact that someone voted Ed would sell a set has me the perplexed the most.
  5. So it looks like the May the Fourth Promo is on at Lego online... there is the free Admiral Yularen, but NO discount on sets! Again Australia getting screwed.
  6. Fairground mixer. It begins.

I Build inconsistently (whenever I fell like it) I Built 10246 detective office which I've been building since I've got it in January lol. Right after I started building my half sealed 10184 town hall (I built the cinema when I got it in 2009) I built the gas station and vehicle (1 and 2 bags) in a Few hours.

People posted about it in the bought today thread. http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/402-what-lego-set-did-you-buy-today/?do=findComment&comment=454619
  9. shop at home webpage is now viewable (not orderable): http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Ferris-Wheel-10247?fromListing=listing $199 - YES!
  10. The smallest air bubble will engage my OCD.....usually take me at least 45 minutes to apply one lol
  11. oos at target, walmart, and amazon limit 5 at LEGO Shop at Home
  12. It's not the size of your collection, but what you do with it that counts
  13. Been a lazy week, so here's a poll to liven things up.
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDAmPIq29ro
  15. My last one was delivered to my door for $204 CDN. With the reverse exchange, that should land somewhere around $160... Don't forget the advertised price always includes VAT which is only removed during the checkout phase so £127 drops to something like £110 at checkout <don't remember the exact but it was something like that>..
  16. Just wondering where you guys have been seeing this for £100 GBP/$150? i see it at £127 on amazon, haven't seen it go much cheaper than that anywhere, and all of these promo discounts aren't very widespread in Europe.
  17. I see parallels between 8043 and 42030. The latter being branded may help it appreciate quicker. If 42030 goes in the first year of production then all bets are off and this may be a $400+ set by X-Mas 2016. You say so what retail is $250. Entry price is everything with technic sets. My entry for 13 sets remains at ~150.00/set. All I see if dollar signs. Just my opinion. Each of those sets (8043 42030) are packed with power functions (main driver of initial technic value). There is a certain cool factor in a front loader (often on US TV gold rush) Maybe not a volvo but construction equipment has been highlighted a lot in the last couple of years. 8043 2+ years after retirement is a clean double (40%+ CAGR highly dependent on your entry price). Maybe 42030 will not not retire this year, maybe my money can spent better elsewhere...opportunity costs? Perhaps. I like a diversified group of sets. That is part of my strategy. My vote is to include 42030 in a diversified investment plan.
  18. I don't claim to have reliable sources, but my most reliable sources tell me this is "gone" by the end of this year also. On the other hand, it is getting more difficult to figure things out with the horde acting like a starving pack of hyenas lately...
  19. FYI DS was on sale last year too with 15% in the EU. DS is the LEGO set that defies everything we know about the firm's policies and production cycles. That's why people shouldn't conclude anything based on a DS anomaly. That set lives its own life.

Bought the UCS Tie Fighter this morning! I had enough LEGO VIP Points to pay for the whole thing. Can't wait to build it!!
  21. I think the official release was May 1. They're up at LEGO Shop at Home at least.
  22. I'll be away for a week (going away bush for the next 7 days) but I'll leave you all with a juicy bit of info as a present Santa's Workshop hasn't been retired and will be a Toyworld exclusive WEF JUN 15. I seen a poster in store today advertising its arrival. PR will also be available Jun as well.

Thx! I had seen something similar my last visit there and was impressed with the quality of yours.... most definitely not the same hehehe
  24. Ed is still hoarding Fire Bikes as we speak.
  25. I managed to find these at a target. Fresh case, and looks like we had the first pick from a few cases that were put out. Time was short, so we smooshed through a few bags and managed to find about 6 unique ones. Then, I grabbed 10 more random bags, knowing that I was certain to get a few doubles. After we got home, we found we had 11 unique figures, but 3 extra Grounds Keeper Willies, and 1 extra Homer. Amazingly, most of the ones we didn't locate in the first round are 5 to a case, including Bart, which is my least desirable of the line. Not bad, I guess.
  26. He's letting his firebike go
  27. I picked hell freezes over, only because I assumed you meant the Eagles tour.
  28. I just got word that the eBay traffic reports will no longer be available. It was a useful tool - I suppose eBay got tired of people realizing that the number of eBay buyers have continued to dwindle.

10x Classic Brick Box I'm gonna bust em open and organize them today..
  30. If there really was an age problem, they should have just rejected the young man from entering the outlet to begin with instead of this where an hour passes before someone notices who out of everyone has a problem and decides to then force the boy to sit in the corner until his father comes by. I can imagine how it felt for the kid when being told by security to go over here and wait. Like the kid and father, I know I would never shop there again.
  31. Nice, but I'd still rather have that Joker Bumper Car.
  32. From me on ebay target tru on release day
  33. Just finished the Kwik-E-Mart last weekend. Here it is next to my Simpsons house: Great, fun build. Apart from the stickers. Might get round to writing up a decent build review at some stage as I took heaps of pics along the way.
  34. I was pleasantly surprised to find a hobbit attack on laketown (79016) for $14.98 and a ninjago overborg attack (70722) for $5.98 at my local target
  35. I built two of the Star Wars Microfighters - the Star Destroyer and TIE Interceptor. I've got a whole set of them, and I'm planning on taking those, a few of the planets from the Planets series, and maybe 8099 ISD and hanging them from my 3 year old's ceiling to compliment his Star Wars bedroom. I'll take some photos when I'm done.
  36. That piece does in fact exist and there's a ton of them in 10179, which is why it is so rare and expensive. Anytime I find these in a lot I hold onto them just in case of a project like this one. I really want this set and would also want it in the newer bluish grey, I think old grey looks dirty and faded against new grey. My only worry is that a new UCS Star Destroyer will come out and I will have spent a ton on a model I could again get for a couple hundred bucks.
  37. Man I love getting the mail. 60 sets in 2 days makes me feel like Im spending too much money.
  38. Mail came today, but it seems that purolator has misplaced a box with 10 x 60074 bulldozer and 10 x 60075 excavator and truck. Hopefully it just got delayed :/

Anyone know how much the US differs from UK market? Is there a big demand in UK compared with US? Can still pick these up pretty easy over here. I'm hanging out until May and using the 10% discount along with points I've accumulated at Lego shop.
  40. I think it shows that anyone stating knowledge that licenses ending at any given date are talking out of their hobbit hole.

I sold off my TIE Fighters, X-wings, and Battle of Hoth since the prices were so high already. I have a few Y-wings, SFC Interceptor, Gungan Subs, and Falcons that I am debating selling soon. Just about everything else will be held longer. I sold the UCS Slave 1 minifigures for $90. I am keeping the Slave 1 for myself and this was a way to get it much cheaper since I will display it without the figures and I can always put a much cheaper Boba in the cockpit if I want.
  42. I'm clearing out anything that has a sniff of possibly returning in the Fall. Good or bad, I wanted to at least downsize. Malevolence still has some room, but it wouldn't hurt to sell a few if you have them. I don't see it growing much past $200. Rumored X-Wing and Millennium Falcon in the Fall, new Sith Infiltrator, etc. "The Force Awakens" versions will be hot, although the 7965 Millennium Falcon growth is an unknown. I don't think it will have any trouble holding it's current value. 9492 - Tie-Fighter, it might not grow much more and the impact of the UCS Tie and Tie Advanced is unknown. I might go ahead and offload 9500 Sith-Fury Class Interceptor, since it's still fresh in collector's minds. It might fade, or it might grow. Who knows...
  43. Since there's a new Sith Infiltrator coming out, I went ahead and sold my last 7961 for $75. I also quickly sold a 9515 - Malevolence for $175. Both sold within 12 hrs. of being listed.
  44. My first sale! Series 3 Gorilla Suit Guy $20 shipped. Found 16 Series 3 minifigures at my Target in Nov of last year for .06 each. Of those 16, two were this guy. Not a bad return in my opinion.
