Or, it can be that TLG realizes most of the people who buy more than 2 of the same modulars are resellers anyway.3 points

I commend you on your purchase of 25 at retail. Wish I would've bought all mine at MSRP also...as I'm pretty sure we all do here. I was only able to nab 12 at retail, and then started buying the rest once it hit 275ish...and still trying to pick up what I can for 350 or less right now...I mean, I can't leave that bottom shelf empty, can I. These shelves are awesome! Motivates me to fill the shelves...like trying to complete a set or something. I only got two town halls at retail, and started buying those at $319 from Amazon, up to 500. I have 30 TH's now...need 42 to complete that shelf..that's going to be though. 10 SSD for 600-700 each....done with those. Also working on a shelf of tower bridges....all at MSRP! Lol I know its a little hard for some of you to swallow purchasing this much at 2x retail, when these could've been bought six months for msrp, but hey if you can do it, why not. I have a of term plan for most of these 3 sets, and wont sell until I double my investment, or close to it. I'm just building my stock for the next couple year...trying to get to 250k in 2-3 yrs time.2 points

"Item in hand. Ready to ship!!!" This annoys me way more than it should. Your item is ready to ship?! You don't say! If it's not a freaking PRE-ORDER, then your item BETTER be ready to ship! And I don't CARE if it is in your hand or not. Dropship gets it to me all the same. /rant Lol. I really don't care that much. It's just silly to see. Especially on Bricklink and especially when it is not listed on every item, leading one to possibly think, "Wait, that one is ready to ship, so is that other one NOT ready to ship?"2 points

Maybe TLG drives down production over the summer (after Easter / 2x VIP) for some sets because in these months sales are just lower than between October-April; resulting in a lower buying limit. And after the summer (in preparation for a long Halloween / another 2x VIP / holiday sales season) they drive production up again raising the limits back to 5, too. Don't know whether or how good this has been observed by anyone. Just a theory, but since the limit change from 5 to 2 came for all older modulars at the same time, it probably has nothing to do with EOL (or not), but rather with production capacity and lower demand during summer.2 points

Hello everyone! Here is one of my recent work based on the Marvel Universe, and hope you guys enjoy it! For more details, please check the link below. If you like the model, please give your support. Thanks a lot!https://ideas.lego.com/projects/101101THE SET This project features the scene from the TV show: Marvel's Agents of S.****.I.E.L.D. It includes a small SHIELD base, two vehicles, and nine minifigs. The very first idea that comes into my mind is to add as much playability as possible and, at the same time, to avoid making the project too large in size. So, I tried my best to minimize the piece count, and now what we have here is a set with 807 pieces and plenty of playability:-) THE S.****.I.E.L.D. BASE The base has 273 pieces of bricks. We have a SHIELD logo and some computer screens in the centre, featuring the main entrance of the base. There is a gym on the left, where the agents can do physical training. And the small lab on the right is the place for research and medical care. At the back of the base, there is a garage where you can park two vehicles. THE VEHICLES Lola is probably the coolest car ever appeared in the TV show. I used 185 bricks, mainly in red, to create it. It can fit one minifig and, surely, can switch to "flight mode", just as it does in the TV show. The black 4x4 (308 pieces) is my favorite part of this set, not only because its strong and aggressive look, but also because the details inside the car. It can fit four minifigs, and it has a small control room with radar screens. There is also some room for weapon storage inside the black SUV. THE MINIFIGS This project includes nine minifigs, all of whom are the main characters in the TV show: Coulson, Skye, May, Trip, Simmons, Bobbi, Fitz, Hunter and Mack. They all have some accessories based on their personal specialties, such as pistols and lab tools. Thank you all for viewing! And finally, please be sure to check my other projects, which also features the scene from the Marvel universe: Red Skull's Flying-Wing Chase: http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/12477-red-skulls-flying-wing-chase-my-lego-ideas-project/ Hydra Jet Escape: http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/13671-hydra-jet-escape-my-lego-ideas-project/ Please support the project on LEGO IDEAS to make it a real set! Thanks a million! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/1011012 points

This is interesting... Lego shop at home US has dropped limits on Pet Shop, Palace Cinema, and Parisian Restaurant from 5 to 2. http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Pet-Shop-10218?fromListing=listing http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Palace-Cinema-10232?fromListing=listing http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Parisian-Restaurant-10243?fromListing=listing2 points

Yes that is normal for shop at home. LEGO shop at home uses a last in first out order fulfillment. People with orders placed from when it is out of stock get their orders fulfilled last. People who place there PS orders right now while its in stock will get it shipped out like normal and receive theirs before those with orders on backorder.1 point
-
You are welcome. Like you, the orders I placed on 3/30 are still in "backordered" status. It is normal. If I place another order now, I believe that I will receive today's order before my 3/30 order. I am not sure why Lego doesn't practice FIFO consistently.1 point

I stole these pics from another forum, but why take up extra precious Internet space?1 point

From past experience, when sets start at limit 5, they generally drop below that at some point near (often very near, as with HH) EOL. But when they start at limit 2, they seem to stick around there pretty much forever. The only exception that comes to mind is EEE, which jumped to 5 for a bit before dropping back to 2.1 point

Thanks for posting those. I also took pics, but not nearly as good as you. I'm going to come out and say this much - the MF is a horrible build. It has very little hold to it. It barely fits together and just crumbles in your hands.1 point

The nice thing I know about him is that he's not a reseller but he takes really good care of his legos. He's pretty well off and has TONS of legos. He does some research on prices but not much and would rather sell it more quickly (different priorities now). He sold me LIKE NEW (literally, great box/instructions, shiny pieces, it even has the extra pieces) fire brigade, pet shop, grand emporium, and 6990 monorail for $400 total. Monorail by itself is approx ~250, which he was aware of. I'm thinking of negotiating down to $275... I did some research and it looks like the used (for him, used = like new) 7722 train is worth ~150 (~120 after fees). My biggest concern though, is how accurate BP is for USED sets. I cross checked w/ bricklink as well. In theory, this lot is worth ~800-900 (~600 after fees/shipping) and although I know I'd need to recheck completeness, it should be easy since he's already confirmed it.1 point

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Thanks for the heads-up. After getting Town Hall I gave top priority to PS due to its long production run. So I already aquired four of those and already opened two boxes. Currently I'm on the lookout for deals for Palace Cinema and a decently priced Grand Emporium. The purchase of newer modulars (PR, DO) feels less urgent to me.1 point

Make-up brushes! I have 2 different sized ones and they work wonders. Much cheaper than constantly buying air cans too.1 point

That seller had unloaded three at just under $500 in February. Not sure why a buyer would pay ~$150 over the going rate. And that buyer has "0" feedback. Not sure this is a legit sale.1 point

That's good news eBay does occasionally do this - and they'll have this buyer on record, so if it turns into their regular song and dance, they'll know and put a stop to it. Buyers do get suspended from eBay, too, just like sellers. I'm afraid I have to hand in my crown as eBay Queen of Knowledge and Awesome - eBay represents a very minor part of our income these days (above turning in our family's empty soda cans at the redemption truck, below everything else...) and I honestly don't spend a lot of time paying attention to all their "put your left foot in, put your left foot out, put your left foot in, and be sure to shake it all about on alternate Tuesdays by 5pm PT if you have a tracking number ending in the word 'illuminati'" rules anymore. Provided they don't actually kick me out (and I can honestly say it wouldn't be so much as a blip on our radar if they did, which is a very relaxing position to be in) we'll always have some sort of presence there, but it's a tiny one and unlikely to grow much in future.1 point

Great MOC and great Ideas suggestion! You have my support although I'm not into SH theme.1 point

I respectively do not believe it at all on the Parisian Restaurant. Unless the entire modular line is being discontinued. I do not see that. Petshop and Palace Cinema going yes I do. I think this is a game to keep supply on hand longer and minimize reseller sales.1 point

I hope you are right Trek, but I've got a feeling there are too many sellers with inventory to let it rise that much so soon. I'm just hoping for $500+ by Xmas.1 point

Short term, R2 is the better investment. By the time the time the Slave I retires, R2 can be $500 or more and be sold and the profits reinvested into multiple Slaves.1 point

Page 1: 6006541x2 - I can't tell what exactly it is, or where it belongs on the build, but it looks like a round 1x1 tile. Page 2: 6037289x1 - 2x2 round tile, inverted (boat stud) is in a new color but I assume that it goes under the landspeeder and is not mandatory. 70 of the 78 varieties can be ordered from 1 US vendor for $28, supplying all new parts, but those of us with bulk lots should have most of the pieces except for the tan, red-brown, and silver pieces or can find the parts cheaper from more sellers. I think the above pictures give you enough of a hint of how to build the Sandcrawler. Start with the house, landspeeder, and decorative pieces and what you have left will be a 4x6 brown plate on top of 3 2x2 plates with double technic pin holes. the 6 technic pins anchor the wheels (1x5 technic bar) and the pictures show the bricks used for the frame and the door. The 2 dark brown bricks are 1x4 arches and that should leave you with about 10-15 pieces to deduce. I will probably try and build a variant of this tomorrow, to see how easy it is to build without instructions.1 point

Then you are both gonna be holding for an equally long time! I´d rather be getting ToO´s unless the Slave was well reduced.1 point

So, as we edge towards the end of the month, current minimum Ebay prices look to be at 550 USD / 420 euros and bricklink sales remain a tad behind but consistent in numbers which is a good sign as most resellers will probably have given up on acquiring this one at these prices. Stock levels are not thinning out much as more seasoned investors start to list their wares as the prices move towards what they are looking to make. Used ones are also trading for much higher than RRP which is an excellent sign.1 point
