  2. A blurry image (of course) for the exclusive set to be given at this year's Star Wars Celebration event next weekend in Anaheim. It appears to have a little diorama of Luke's home on Tatooine, a (loosely) Microfighters-esque sandcrawler, C-3PO (I would guess the one from the UCS Sandcrawler), and a micro landspeeder with some characters. 6. I think it's 1 air mile for every $20 spent but totals over a month. So 95 air miles is $1900. (It might be $15 per). If you stack with a good credit card like the BMO World Elite that gives you an air mile for every $10 then its approx $633 for the $10 coupon. What you really need to do is take advantage of air miles grocery offers... Not sure what you have out east but where I am there are frequently air miles specials that can earn you 500 air miles after spending around $200. Add the air miles from using an appropriate CC and you're getting about $55 back in coupons. It's not unusual for us to get 1000 miles in a month and I think last year we earned 21,000 miles. We however still use air miles for flights. :)

  9. I was waiting for that remark. Ha. Ah, looks like I'll have yet another project on my hands. That reminds me, are there instructions for the older microbuilds of JEK-14's Starfighter, Bag End, or Rocket's Warbird? Let me guess, I just gave myself more work didn't I? Dang it.

  14. If there was a Hobgoblin on the horizon, I'd camp in the Toys R Us parking lot. I hear there's plenty of hotcakes for everyone.

  15. Correct, the base value of an airmile is $20. Hardly worth it if you only collect airmiles at the low basic rate. The key is to sniff out airmiles deals periodically advertised by airmiles sponsors to really hoard the miles. I do well just maximizing airmiles specials at the grocery stores (Safeway and Sobeys out west) and gas at Shell. Even TRU has airmiles specials here and there. That's my general advise to everyone with airmiles but gregpj has pretty much reinforced what is already good to know. ;)

  17. Yea I'm relatively new, I thought maybe my thinking was flawed and it was very plausible that it would go from OOS limit 5 to sold out. I went ahead and ordered 2!
    1 point
  18. Totally up to you. Today the limit is 5, tomorrow it may be listed OOS never to return. This is what happened to the town hall. But it's most likely to go in the next year. And if it follows the pattern of the FB and GE, it will go in Oct-Nov. Or not, no one really knows. :)

  19. Haha. Yeah, I seriously need the classic comic book Green Goblin myself.

  22. I sold it on EBay! I was surprised myself. I raised my prices, as I'm on a fishing trip and did not want to encourage buyers while I am gone. In the listing, I wrote about being a Lego fan and priding myself on my bulletproof packaging. Who knows if that separated me from the ton of these listed on EBay for under $20. 23. Started looking around at what's out there. The best thing I could find were both IKEA solutions. Either a series of LACK coffee tables (about $80 / 4x8 space) or a build-your-own table using: 1x http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00251135/ 4x http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90217972/ I like the table better because it will be higher. Each one is about 2x4 and runs $20 a table, so about the same price as 8 LACKs. The other option seems to be plywood and folding legs, which runs about 70$ a table and requires sanding, sealing, and painting. For $10 I'll go the IKEA route. I think I will start with 4 tables and expand from there. I plan to use hook hasps underneath to hold the tables together but allow them to come apart if needed. 3.50 each. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbranded-3-4-in-x-1-1-8-in-Satin-Nickel-Hook-and-Staple-19764/204485787 So, has anyone else played with this idea? What did you find?

  24. Hats off to you if a $100 Town Hall arrives on your doorstep, but I just don't see how it isn't a scam. Have no regrets either way Guys finding $100 Imperial Shuttles at Big W is another story though. Ridiculous

  27. Here is an amusement park MOC completely built out of LEGO with a Ferris wheel, bumper cars, jump & smile, pendulum, and some kind of swing ride all powered by motors. It also features an array of lights to brighten the lively scene during the night.

  28. One just sold for 580 US + shipping shipped from Canada and it was an auction. This puts it around 750 with shipping. Pretty crazy. Quite an impressive rise. And to think I left 2 on the shelf near the end. Lol.

  32. A fail? Pretty sure the b Wing ucs was my most profitable exclusive ever. Buy in was 100.00 with a freebie I sold for 20. Buy in not including Vip points was 80 bucks. Sold all for 239. B wing was an amazing investment. That price was available to everyone for a few weeks. The same people who speak about b wing not being a wise investment are likely the same ones saying lotr and hobbit arnt good. It's simple Math and requires one knowing what the cost to aquire was.

  34. I just went to pick up my son returning from his Easter camp with the boy scouts. Started talking to another dad about Lego while waiting for our kids. His son was going to buy the High-speed train and he asked if I knew where he could get it the cheapest. So I sold him one of mine for

  37. Birds 2.0 by Poulsom has just been introduced at Lego Ideas. It goes without saying, a 2.0 version of this set will cause the original to skyrocket in value. Hence, I urge your support for this new version. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/98737

  43. Always been a fan of classic Space; my first set was a little gray spaceship in Christmas '86. I was parting out a Joker's Steamroller last week, and when I got to the Batwing/Jet, and for two or three seconds I could've sworn I was 9 years old again and breaking open bags for my Blacktron Renegade. It was a strange rush of memories, but a nice feeling nonetheless.

  44. This is getting kind of sick. Many of you go and clean out stores without thinking twice about what you're doing, but when you're on the outside looking in, you complain. Enough is never enough, and when you have it all, you still want more. Instead of thinking of others, you only think about yourselves. It seems like you get the thought in your heads that only resellers are buying LEGO or looking for the next deal, and 'if I don't buy all of them, another reseller will!'. Exercise some restraint and leave some for others. You don't need everything. Some non-resellers are actually looking to purchase a set when a sale arises. I'm all for getting a deal on LEGO, but at the same time, I know I'm not the only person who should benefit.
