  1. I'm wishing for something like this.

  2. 2 X Birds 21301 at K-Mart for $80 ($69.75 out of pocket) with $11 in points back This might be a good one if anyone plays the Shop Your Way game and has points. These are on the web for $44.99 (I hadn't noticed these at K-Mart before). If you look for SYW coupons, there is a $10 back in points on a $50 purchase. Also, I went to the direct mobile coupon generator here http://shc.cpn2c.co/RecomService/web/bE3R. There was a $10 off $75 toys. I was able to apply both coupons to this order (you can't always do this). I paid the balance with a 7% off raise GC. I paid with some points to get my out of pocket further, but I had to pay $75 out of pocket (via GC) to get the discounts and points back. After some points I had, it was $69.75 (7% raise card) for 2 sets out of pocket. $10 back in points, gets these sets pretty darn cheap. Once these ship, you have points to do this over and over once you generate some fresh coupon codes. About $30/set if you count the points back like cash. It's some work, but I was kinda stoked to see this set at K-Mart online.

  3. So, when you purchase tickets on a boat that leaves at 330 with 20 other groups on it and you show up at 345 and the boat is gone, how exactly is that my problem? It's called punctuality, look it up.

  4. Our kids really like the Mixer set for exactly that reason... being portable they constantly load and unload the trucks. Frankly, for them it's more fun than pretending to hit the strong man bell attraction. They do like the dunk tank though. I just hope we don't get something like this...

  5. I just went to pick up my son returning from his Easter camp with the boy scouts. Started talking to another dad about Lego while waiting for our kids. His son was going to buy the High-speed train and he asked if I knew where he could get it the cheapest. So I sold him one of mine for

  6. First, let me start by saying that I must give credit where credit is due and I mostly copied this build as best I could from the pictures at this link https://www.flickr.c...N06/6937426891/ Second, I hope this is ok. I've always wanted to attempt this but I'm not very creative. I also wanted to make this my own by altering some things and not trying to make an exact copy. Level 4 (top): reserved for the 75034 Death Star Troopers set with large cannon. Level 3: Emperor's chair with window (will be accompanied by Royal Guards from 75034) Level 2: Stormtrooper's area? I'll place some Stormtroopers from set 75078 on this level. Level 1 (bottom): instead of the trash compactor, I opted to go with a docking bay that will either have the Falcon 75030 or the Tie Interceptor 75031 microfighter. Side view Side view with bay door open Back view Top view I'd like some suggestions and feedback. Especially on the top. I've had a rough time lining things up in LDD. Thanks.

  9. I went back and smooshed two divers from the same box. I chatted it up with her and she mentioned that she had a couple of sealed series 8 boxes in the back. Needless to say, I bought them both. Paid $524 after tax. Feeling good!

  10. I am eagerly awaiting to see even a hint at what this set could be followed by how well it goes beside the already released Fairground Mixer and on that note, I have some ideas for what this may potentially be. If the suggested retail of rumor becomes true then $200 gives a lot of possibility in terms of the height, number of gondolas, and what side attractions we might see. Traditionally a Ferris wheel is a 'couples ride' in each car seating two persons but anyone knows the extra space required in placing two minifigures together therefore the design might be a single-seater. However such a high price point could lend towards a decently wide design which really shouldn't require a whole lot more pieces to achieve this as they would go into each pod than the actual wheel. If it turns out to have single-seaters then we are looking at a six wide (from the front) ride holding ten cars. If it is a double-seater then an eight wide (again from the front) design with eight to ten cars. (This all assumes there won't be any inside gondolas that some of the large ones have in certain parks.) I can imagine some fancy decor across the sides with plenty of those glow-in-the-dark studs to make it shine during the night just like the Fairground Mixer and it will be made Power Functions ready. As The Men's Warehouse guy would say, "I guarantee it". I suppose there will also be some sort of fencing and a few steps to a platform for the people to get on the ride. Since there already was a ticket kiosk in the Fairground Mixer I question seeing another one included here although it is a constant necessity with theme parks. I guess the only thing left to speculate is what color shall it be and what the two added side venues will be?

  12. Your welcome on the U2, hope you're feeling better soon and make those Bricklink sellers ship the parts on their dime. They shouldn't have left them out in the first place.

  18. Finished the Tumbler (another multi-day build). Build was just OK for me, I much prefer the minifig scale builds. But the display value is omggggg. And I did like how they broke the build up into smaller parts (like sandcrawler) so you built a piece then connected it to the main model. Definitely made it more exciting that way.

  20. I understand the nostalgia behind Grand Carousel with its classically artistic vintage appearance but it isn't something you would find in a modern real life amusement park or at least not one that travels. The Fairground Mixer on the other hand is rather spot on in its realism with the main attraction capturing the look and mechanics of a basic twist/scrambler ride. Like it or not, that is how it should be and I would imagine the Ferris Wheel shall be the same. Besides it is a Ferris Wheel, the most basic amusement known to man. Shoot, an enterprise would be more fun and interesting. Course I guess you don't have a Ferris Wheel for fun, you have it for looks and people with queasy stomachs. Haha.

  22. well i got the half of it guys, there we "no photo" signs posted behind her. I respected those orders and did not take a photo. but here it is! this was fantastic and everyone loved the set when i pulled it outta the box waiting in line. I will keep the fan expo itinerary and my exhibitor pass with this set, at least it something to authenticate it.

  24. I used two coupons total. You can re-generate unique codes for $10 off $75 on toys at this URL http://shc.cpn2c.co/...ervice/web/bE3R The $10 back on a $50 purchase is unique. Once used, you can't us it again. I would say do it once, and pocket the points. Then parlay it again by using a $10 off $20 coupon. If you have shop your way linked to a mobile account, Text THANKS to 73277 to get a Sears.com coupon code. It says sears on it, but I was able to use the code from kmart.com on a birds purchase. I had some points stacked up, so I got another birds for $7 after I used all my points from the previous purchase, and some I had banked. There's definitely some room for some creativity. Outside of some SW sets, this seems to be one of the few sets at kmart with some investment potential (I'm in the camp that says this set is a winner).

  25. That depends on the ethnicity of the crew and the customers. 330 tends to be 430 in some cultures. I once went to an annual event hosted by a particular ethnic group that 'started' at 10am. People finished arriving at 10:45 and we started at 11:15 and the reason given by the late arrivals was that 'these things never start on time'. Christmas lunch is another such event (12pm start means show up at 2)

  29. I'm playing the death bugle (is that a thing? I think I just made that up actually) on the VW Camper Van. I think the last shipment to stores was the last batch, and maybe it'll see some life through summer, but it'll succumb to the flashing gem in it's hand (Yeah, I made a Logan's Run reference. You saw it. I did it.) by winter, which'll make the perfect gift for all those hippies that became yuppies who can now afford the pointless material possessions they once denounced. The smell of irony and cash will insure this to be a very holly jolly Christmas. Also, on an off topic note, does anyone else ever get the feeling that the entire planet earth is someone else's lego set and that we've been slapped with the "retiring soon" label on some cosmic website that we can't access? If that's the case, I'm predicting about a 300 to 400% ROI on it. That or it's just a Chima set waiting to happen.

  37. Still waiting for pictures of this set. If the Ferris Wheel includes features such as mobile/truck transport, extra little booths, fencing, etc, it would appear to fit with the Fairground Mixer very nicely. In that case, I think a coherent theme is starting to emerge and the Mixer as an early set will have that much more future appeal. This will influence my decision on stock levels of the Mixer. Anyone seen pics of this set yet? Isn't early release in like 3 weeks?

  38. To me, anything less than the Grand Carousel will be a disappointment. I get they are trying (maybe) to create a "summer seasonal" with new components every year, but to me its a wasted release slot. The FM seems stuck between being a City playset and an Advanced model, without much display potential. They would have had better success with a Halloween Village seasonal. Or a Disneyland/Disneyworld seasonal with park landmarks.

  40. I just completed some in-depth analysis of the various sets in the LEGO Architecture series - based on the new feature of Brickset to track inventory at LEGO.com EU. I found that the lower-priced sets are selling at higher volume, which is pretty much to be expected, but the more costly sets are clearly selling well enough to contribute well in terms daily sales (
