received all orders .... amazon, target; walmart(CT); all mixed and a huge mess. still figuring out the content yes not all cartons have packing slip
  2. I'm a simple frog. 1. I sees the LEGO. 2. I buys the LEGO. 3. I takes the LEGO home. The only things I buy from TLG are exclusives I can't get on discount anywhere else anyway, and occasional clearance. Taxes I pay are refunded to me when I file my state sales tax returns. Whether I'm getting a 4.8888877329238938024839043% discount or 5% doesn't matter. In 20 days, whether I'm getting a 9.99023493890243241% discount or 10% won't matter, either.
  3. confused on how some do not see the potential in this set. I've sold 19 the last 90 days at an average of $261.26. There's plenty more that have closed / sold at $255-290 during the past 30 days even while the set has been available at multiple sources at regular retail. That's a pretty good sign it is a popular set. If you can get 30-40% over retail while still being readily available more times than not you will have a winner. Taking a look at the sets that were not selling well online while being available like SC, HE, AA, R2 up until they started the dance and this one has been near the top. AA is still pulling about 299, R2 at about 300-310 and they've been gone for months, granted they were $160 sets HE at 200ish which left about the same time as the other 2, and SC going for $170 range on a $100 set which has been gone the longest but had some TRU afterstock show up. While R2 was heading out it was in the $250-260 range and I sold over 40 of those in a 2 month period . It was extremely popular. AA probably jumped the quickest but had the perfect timing of Xmas when it went out. R2 had been going in and out prior to that. Point is those other 4 sets all did well and this one is on par with those seeing its still available. Not trying to convince anyone but at the same time I would not overlook this set. As others have said its a unique set and should be a one time type of set. Up until the last 4-5 months it went widely unnoticed. Now that it is staying around longer this last batch it is getting overlooked again by R5 , PC, and PS which seem to sell out while this one sits on the shelves. Once this one truly goes it should have a nice spike again.
  4. It's a bittersweet day...just sold my last set of Series 1 Mixels for $123. Other than a set that I have for ourselves, and some individual ones for sale, I am out!
  5. VIP points > no VIP points.
  6. I factor VIP points into my purchase prices only when I use them. Leads to some wildly low prices at times, but easier for me to keep track of. Same thing with TRU rewards (lol, good luck tracking that).
  7. Bottom line is this... We are on the verge of the most hyped movie of all time. Anything STAR WARS will be hot. Flipping out of a SSD now to buy other sets could be one of the worst LEGO investing moves ever made IMO. What will a person flip into? SOH? Is it retiring? Do people care? ToO? Same thing. Pet Shop? One only has to look at the Fire Brigade to see this set won't explode. Palace Cinema? Same thing. Tower Bridge? Sure...maybe next year. Death Star. LOL. Tumbler, Slave or Helicarrier...not ready to retire. Town Hall? Too late. See my point? This set is a keeper. Be patient. While there are no guarantees, I don't see another set capable of growing hundreds of dollars over the course of the next year.
  8. Mine still reads zero. Same as yesterday.
  9. I was going to mention something similar. I think Alpine had a couple honeyholes for these after they were on the rise, but maybe he was scooping them up before then. Bulletproof helmet.

got my last 5 today. 54 total. All have already been paid for and sold to a wholesaler. Who rules because they only want pieces. So I empty everything into a box. No fees. Just under 1500.00 profit in a week depending how I ship. May do freight for first time as opposed to 5 boxes. The last five shipped in original lego cartons but then inside a walamrt box. Good job walmart. I have never had the problem others say about their shipping.
  13. People around 40 or 50 tend to get this thing called "Midlife Crisis". You can tell when they start to look for attention from other women, get their motorcycle drivers license and buy Super Star Destroyers.
  14. What is all this talk about Golden Dragon???
  15. This is way to complicated for me. I just log what I pay at the time for a set. I see no reason to go through all that when it all comes out even in the end anyway.
  16. Strong performance of product lines, such as LEGO City, LEGO Creator as well as THE LEGO MOVIE products contributed to sales growth in all regions of the world and led to a highly satisfactory annual result for the LEGO Group with sales increasing to 28.6 billion DKK.
  17. Why does it matter? Spread it out evenly or apply all to one set. In the end it all adds up. Do what makes sense to you.
  18. Or his fly was undone....
  19. saw this over the weekend and had to have one. Used the city bogo to get two and sold one so almost got it for free. Last pic is for exciter1. Now when you say to buy more TP you can buy it in LEGO form as well.

That's awesome! Might produce one DS per day. No wonder the damn thing isn't retiring they are still trying to fill a shipping container!

Here are a few videos inside the lego factory: At the end of the first video it states a packing line can produce "1400 boxes per hour" This last one is the most comprehensive and shows the complete process...but it's in Spanish!
  22. Read the entire thread before commenting further. I'm half kidding. Sort of. Not really...
  23. We might need your help at one point. Fame and fortune awaits. LOL
  24. Or wait for steamrollers to get to 70% clearance and haul them all in
  25. Get at least one to build, please. Double VIP is coming up! Don't miss this one...
  26. I do the same... I substract the points when I use them. Like a credit.
  27. As another way to calculate how may sets Lego makes each year, you can find bits of data on the net. This article states "Approximately 7 Lego sets are sold every second around the world". This yields: 7 sets/sec x 3600 s/hr x 24 hr/day x 365 day/yr = 220 Million Sets/year. Surprisingly close to the figure in the post, above (153 Million). Make of this what you will, I'm a data junkie and love these kinds of analysis.
  28. My concern with low dollar item is the potential damage to my rating and or feedback. I worry those $2 polybag profits would not be worth the risk.
  29. I just put this little table together in case anyone finds it useful. Obviously ROI doesnt take fees/shipping into account, but it's still a decent indicator of historical trends on a pretty isolated subset of LEGO sets as a whole.
  30. Are you factoring in demolition drillers for $7 and winter elf scene 1/2 for $20+? You are over thinking Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Brickpicker mobile app
  31. And the zillion stickers on EEE are an internal joke amongst Lego collegues?
  32. Day before Thanksgiving? 2014? I think people were more like: "Look! That guy is carrying the last and final Super Star Destroyer to the register."
  33. No argument at all, I agree with you - I am just not nearly as organized as I should be. ;P And money definitely can be made - and it can be good for feedback and to fill up those 40 FBA Premium sales too. With me they get stuck in bags and thrown in a box and have to be found, sorted, and counted later. If I tackled them in a timely manner like you do, probably wouldn't cause me headaches.
  34. I went to a Lego store today to use the Han coupon and buy a battle pack, and found a Jek-14 on clearance for $41 instead.
  35. shhh.... the fedex guy is outside right now with big giant walmart boxes (25 creative towers) and im trying to pretend im not home... i dont want him to get mad at me.. lol
  36. Use of Sarcasm is a privelege not a right
  37. So now users are supposed to debate projections in PM? Kinda defeats the purpose of the forum.
  38. This one is really starting to come good despite what the haters said. A Red 5 retirement would be welcome to help it on up.

Laser ship has some interesting delivery cars / people.
  40. We are from the planet Duplo and we are here to destroy you.. Daughter's favorite line from Lego Movie.. ; )
  41. i have a thick head... i am sensing sarcasm here did i read it correctly
  42. so did she deny stealing it and claimed it was hers? i dont want to assume that is what happened because i dont like assuming. if so, I agree with Delorean. The kids learned from that lesson big time because now they know their mom did not buy it and thats all she had to say to get out of it.
  43. More batzarro minifigs at $15+shipping. All bought at target for $10/each w DVD, only sold a few DVD so far. Other listings selling at a lot less Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Brickpicker mobile app
  44. Looks awesome! I really have to pick up one of those shuttle polys...
  45. Would you say the amount of times was....
  46. It doesn't sound like TLG made "too many" of these as many have said above. It sounds like they came pretty close to meeting demand. Limit of one at full retail on LEGO Shop at Home indicates they are not going to have trouble moving the last of these. TLG did everything right with this set, in my book. I hope to see retirement announcements like this become a trend. Sent from my XT1028 using Brickpicker mobile app
  47. If people following a few pages back, yes a full set of 9 mixels fit in a padded flat rate envelope. $5 shipping anywhere in US makes shipping pretty decent and you don't have to worry about a surpirse Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Brickpicker mobile app
  48. ^^ CC, same here... 5 total, but likely to build one. All are sealed for the long-haul- can't wait to see this sets progress as scarcity sets in and the new movies roll out. _ _ _ _ _ Edit: ... though I have to wonder about the science behind a "super star destroyer". I need to brush up on some Hawkins, but aren't stars basically just massive, flaming balls of hydrogen fuel? How would you "destroy one", and... If you were in the midst of an inter-galactic war, what would be the benefit of doing so? SSD Crewman: "Sir, we are being attacked by an enormous fleet of X-wings and other Republic gunships. Need your orders, sir". SSD Captain: Never mind them. See that star over there? Let's blow it up. SSD Crewman: "Sir, our vessel has taken over 4,000 direct hits in the last twenty seconds. I advise we use our guns to fight these guys instead". SSD Captain: YOUR INSOLENCE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. SSD Crewman: Sir, that star hasn't fired anything at all at us. The way I see it- and I may be alone here- is that it's just a star, and is not posing a direct threat to our mission or campaign. Those X-wings, on the other hand, have now killed over 11,000 crewman and Stormtroopers since we started this discussion. They may be faceless people to you, sir, but seven of those Stormtroopers (Randy, Hal, Alice, Tom, Angela, Stephen and Bob) are part of our Thursday-night Baccarat club. They are people, sir. Tom's kid plays soccer with yours, Sir, and I just feel that... AAAAND KABLOOOOIE. With the cost, labor, time, effort, and engineering prowess needed to design a ship that can blow up a star, imagine if that had all been put into a ship that blew up OTHER ships, instead of stars. I think the Empire's engineer that built this one is the same guy who built the Death Star, and decided it would be a great idea to have a couple completely open, unexposed shafts leading to the very heart of the entire contraption- where an accurately-placed rock from a sling-shot would destroy the entire thing.
