  1. Took me long enough to realize the correct character but the zombie in the Mystery Machine set is the witch's zombie from the episode "Which Witch is Which?". Come to think of it now, the witch from the alleged Monsters Minifigures series is a bit similar too but then again that is going for the more traditional Halloween witch anyhow. Seeing LEGO going completely classic is a good thing on every level. The vampire in the Mystery Mansion is Dracula (of course) from the episode "A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts". For the Haunted Lighthouse, it's a mix of old and new. The ghost in the set is the Lighthouse Keeper which originated from the "Lighthouse Keeper Scooby" episode on the Richie Rich, Scooby-Doo Show but the minifigure's design is based on the more current version of What's New Scooby Doo? in "Frighthouse of a Lighthouse". The Swamp Monster seems to just be one of those characters added in for good measure as the closest monster I can find is the Lake Monster from the Scooby-Doo TV movie "Curse of the Lake Monster" which still was more of a frog...thingy. At least the minifigure is cool while I can't say the same about the film source.
  2. I never understood why a Ferrari needs to be red. Black is so much more classy and impressive. At least to me. Ontopic: If it is red you might have a point.
  3. 70lb bulk on CL for $80 I'm not expecting anything outstanding, mainly buying to flip to a Bricklink seller who buys from me.

  6. Tell that to people who bought Chima speedorz at 50% off
  7. I wouldn't recommend biting on those plastic bricksthough or your profits from selling lego the last two years will end up in the dentist's wallet.
  8. What I like most about this theme (besides of the mistery machine and the Mystery Mansion) is the fact that it might potentially increase the value of my Haunted Houses as they just go brilliantly together with the scooby doo theme!

  10. Awesome sets. I picked these up today at TRU. However, boy did Lego miss a chance at an epic set number. They gave 75911 to the McLaren, and 75912 to the Porsche set. Really? You couldn't give 75911 to the Porsche?
  11. Really not sure. My theory is maybe people are searching for "Lego Millenium Falcon" and because there is less competition with that common misspelling, mine was getting higher on the first page. And with less competition comes higher prices. maybe the SEO game of eBay... Or I just got lucky? Either way it may be worth a shot and I figured I would share.
  12. From a pure production point of view there are 3 main phases: 1 - Injection moulding 2 - Detailing (printed bricks, minifigs) 3 - Packing Although TLG want to cap the number of active parts at any one time their main bottleneck would be on the packing line. The DS would take multiple passes on the line so would soak up a good chunk of a packing schedule. So it's not about the parts, it would be about how this set ranks in priority against other competing sets on the packing schedule. Keep in mind the number and volume of new SW sets required for the new movie later this year. Sep 2015 - Feb 2016 will be the biggest sales period in Lego history and Disney will be pushing (very) hard to make sure the shops have EpXII lego on the shelves. Any current SW set may not necessarily be retired for these reasons (there are other reasons though) but it is going to be struggle for them to get on the production schedule.

  14. Lego SAH the Netherlands has all Star Wars sets on sale! I think they are 15% off. Germany no sign of sales.
  15. Prudence in these words. Hobbit/LOTR lines 100% failed to find audience. Lots of sets produced & discounted. Not good things, usually. Future fans, collectors will have to seek out these sets in order for TOO et al to perform well. I am buying on a hunch, nothing more. This line looks just a little too kicked around.

A lot of these are still at zero completed sales on ebay. No marketing? Could be flop Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Brickpicker mobile app
  17. Negative feedback! That's pathetic.
  18. That was what we call October.
  19. A local target never put out the lego city swamp helicopter mini polybags for valentines day. So I got 150 of them for something like 34 cents a piece. x5 Minecraft micro world "the forest" $21 x1 Heartlake High $25 x1 Meridas highland games $9 A few hero factory bags/small creative sets on clearance.
  20. I thought they had been thrown off the scent by Red 5 and Creative Towers....
  21. True, but there are always exceptions. There a couple white guys who can dunk and 3 or 4 politicians that aren't 100% scum.

  23. That is probably because it's tiny. Practically invisible to the naked eye.
  24. My latest PC from Amazon had codes 05R5. So pretty fresh, I'd say. Those old boxes (PS, TH, PC) do have ample wasted space. I haven't cracked a PC yet, but the box sounds half-empty like a potato chip bag.
  25. I bought my sets with 35% off 6-9 months ago, and am now trying to resell those 10% more than RRP. Not that great (about 50
  26. Roses are red... Violets are blue...
  27. That's probably not a bad thing, my wallet needs a bit of a break! You're right though there's nothing in stores that really says "buy me!" at the moment. Sets I think that will do well long term are the three OT Star Wars sets; Cantina, AT-AT and ISD, but these all have a lot of shelf life left in them. Maybe Bennys Spaceship if bought at a discount which might be done by mid-year, that's about it really. Of the remaining in-store exclusives nothing excites me too much, I'm not too confident on the Sea Cow, Ewok Village or Simpsons House, even with 20% off it might take a while after EOL for these to pay a decent return. Unfortunately the crappy Australian Dollar has taken away many options of bargain buys from the US, which makes life tough for us!
  28. going to try this. I just added Millenium on my ebay listing. hopefully that helps. Thanks in Advance Tmock12!

Yes, the builder stated he used a golden coat for a realistic effect which I would assume was spray paint. So much chrome you can harley tell it's LEGO. ;)
  30. Try misspelling Millennium with 1 '******' (Millenium) if you are on eBay. Mine were sitting at $220 for too long so I went and copied the title of 1 that had just sold for $230. One of my co-workers pointed out that they spelled Millennium wrong. Over 100 new views in 24 hours and three sales. Wish I would have raised my price higher than $230. Might be worth a shot for you too.

  36. This is why topics have pages and pages of useless nonsense. Someone tries to be funny and says the Slave 1 THAT JUST CAME OUT is retiring and then a bunch of newer members start panicking and asking questions about it and it's no fault of their own. Can we keep the nonsense to a minimum please?
  37. Other than being animated cartoons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Scooby-Doo have nothing in common. At least with Scooby, LEGO completely went full-on retro to capture the classic appeal very well whereas TMNT was based on the Nickelodeon followed by the Michael Bay film versions instead of the original. As for TMNT bombing, is the theme even retired yet?
  38. And I'll stick with my one.
  39. Meaning that only guys who got the GG and the CC will be able to complete the block. Quite unlikely... Are you thinking about a block like this ?
  40. Here is a New Elementary review on 76040 Brainiac Attack. I must say I love how many old Space colors are returning in new parts.
  41. As I read this on my phone, my youngest boy was actually humming the Imperial March behind me. (Playing with the Lego Star Destroyer 75055, of course). Got my first (and only) DS yesterday in the mail from LEGO Shop at Home. Can't wait for that rainy day to come when I can tear it open...

I guess even LEGO couldn't sell enough EDB to use all the trans green ones they produced.
  44. With all these sales on, don't forget to ensure you keep your rewards cards handy. I have been cashing in rewards points for Frequent Flyers, Fly Buys and MyerOne for more gift cards to use later. Stack those on top of the 20% off sales and you start picking up R2-D2 and Arkham sets for $150.

These sets have special mystical powers so they are more expensive.

I'd normally be excited about this type of theme but I agree, it's kind of busy looking. The ship isn't bad but I'm wondering if the cabin is scaled to fit a doll inside or not. If not, I'm even more meh on it. I think there is too much going on in these sets and the added busyness doesn't really add much to playability.
