One of the other LEGO sites had this feature for a while, but I got a ton of emails and PMs about whether Brickpicker would have something like this. It was hard to say for a while but after 7+ weeks of asking, discussing, etc. I finally was given access to this information as well and created a page to search for inventory in all the local Target locations near you. So a few notable features: You can either obtain the Target DPCI number from the Target Product detail pages, or use the DPCI search link that see available on the page. Try to be as specific as possible with your search phrases Map/Geolocation/Pins - Easily see the color coded pins that surround your current location. This will help you identify what direction to go in. "Go towards the Green" Search popular and recent searches. Click the active link on the DPCI number and it will automatically fill the search box See store details/hours/maps Ok, so check it out, let me know your thoughts. The real 60051/52 train question for me--at this price, is it worth it? There's always a new iteration of the train which limits the growth of the old one. Even if it has a short life (and that's a big if), there's a new cargo train coming. Again, those with $99 buy in are in good shape, but I'd have to pay close to retail price and there's better upside to something more collectible and exclusive. I wouldn't hesitate at $99, but $189 + tax... I'd rather buy another PC or ToO or Tumbler.

F5-ing is so overrated and so 2014! It is so much more fun and less stressful indeed when you already have your minimum quantity for investment and every other is extra.

All sellers on ebay ought to adhere to the rule: "Package every sold item the way you would like to receive it yourself!". That's what I do. Always. No exceptions. Everything else would be unaccaptable for my personal understanding of social manners. Unfortunately, many other seller folks don't seem to have that kind of a "problem". I mean if they package their stuff so badly, not having one bad feeling about it. Makes me wonder if some day some of them will start coming out asking buyers "Do you want me to send you the item with a real crappy packaging, so you can throw it away right after receiving it totally damaged - or should I put in in a garbage can right here at my place, which would save you the postage cost?"...

IMO, a lot of investors are underestimating the Lego Movie sets as an entire class of investments. The "name of the game" in movie production now is franchise potential, and The Lego Movie already has THREE sequels slated (Batman being first). That strengthens all of these sets as long-term investments. Those films will likely be successful, leading to more films. And more AFOL's for us to provide product for. This set is great. A personal family favorite of ours, and likely many, the double-decker couch... which is so popular at B&M's that most are restricting them to "one per household". It's the kind of set current kids will look back on twenty years from now and gladly pay significantly $ to own, based on how well the set represents the movie and the nice memories they had in childhood watching it. I think savvy investors will identify this potential, but not so many that hoarding will be significant. I love the movie, the line, and the long-term investment potential.

As the title states, I am just getting started in collecting and investing in Lego sets. I would like to get a jump start and ask someone to help me out in figuring out which sets to buy. There were other things in the earlier exchange at the beginning that made me think he was trolling. I shortened the exchange down for the forum. On my Craigslist post, I stated that if you can find the item in store or online at a lower price, just buy it from the store and don't bother negotiating. I also stated I can help people out locating some of the current stuff if they want simply buy them from the store. While this is supposed to generate side money, I want to have fun while doing it and enjoy it as more of a hobby. He was asking for a set I never had and never posted initially so I even spent a bit of time helping him out checking inventory at Walmart and target and compare prices for him between amazon and eBay in addition to an newer alternative set from this year if he doesn't want to pay above retail. After that I expected the exchange to end since I don't have what he wanted. Then he comes back and ask whether I have the 2nd set, so I was straightforward and basically knocked the price down to my lowest price I am willing to take even though I listed higher. The price I quoted was lower than retail and obviously without tax. I totally read his response of finding it in the store as more of snardy/trolling comment at that point rather than a courtesy. This is because of couple of things. He pointed out my ad but asked whether I have something that I didn't posted. He then asked me multiple times in different emails where I live when it is posted clearly where people can pick up on the same ad. So I was getting some hints on there that he wasn't really interested before he came in with the low ball offer. In hindsight, I should have responded "great. Thanks for letting me know" but given I was responding to him quite a few times already, I got upset wasting my time on such a low character. Sometimes I really want to avoid selling on Craigslist as maybe only couple percent of people that I responded to are really interested in buying around the NYC area if not for the fact that I don't want to give eBay all the commissions. In Virginia, where I used to live, I get significantly less low ball offers and much higher results. People are simply nicer and smarter and actually understand the prices that I posted are generally good prices as I typically post market price (eBay /amazon) minus the potential fees or slightly lower than Walmart/Target/Amazon.

Classic supply and demand situation. Resellers think it will go X times MSRP so are buying them from other resellers thus pushing the price up further. We will see if they manage to create a bubble or if there is really a sustained genuine demand very soon. Also if you see the full street built , it is the most commanding building and is a real centrepiece.

Well I guess there is something to be learned from this thread. Lots of people dissing Town Hall and now it's pushing $500 on eBay. Wish I would have left more pet shops and grand emporiums out of the cart and put more Town Hall's into it.

Likelihood of another X-wing this year is 100%. But the chance of another UCS X-wing in, say, the next three years is very low if past experience is any guide. As a consumer, I would always choose the much cheaper and more swooshable playset over the UCS model, but there are clearly lots of collectors out there who don't feel the same way. I think playsets and UCS models are very different markets, without much overlap. I would actually be more concerned by the possibility of collectors on a budget (or with limited display space) buying the new Slave 1 or whatever UCS SW set comes out next at MSRP versus a 10240 for $400 (seems like what most hope to get out of it). I think 10240 is a reasonable but not spectacular investment.

Just my opinion but I would never ever send them expensive retired sets. I know good and well they aren't going to pack and ship as well as I do. Inexpensive sets that are still available I might use FBA though.

I have 2 Jabba Palaces and 2 Helm's Deep waiting for me at a Mom & Pop pharmacy. I really hope they run a 25% off toys sale sometime closer to the holidays, but they may be gone by then.
