All this practice does is hurt the legitimate ebay sellers including most of you on here, yet every time one of these type auctions comes up of $50 Death Stars or half price this and that people bid on them with the hope they are going to get something that will never come. It affects ebay sellers as a whole as ebay then takes proactive measures like restricting additional accounts a legitimate user may have or putting harsher monthly limits on sellers to protect them from getting more damage from hacked accounts. If something is over 50% off on a hot item you know its not legitimate so why bother!!!! The attitude that I am covered by paypal and ebay so it doesn't matter is the wrong one to have. It still have repercussions on the site as a whole. Just report these type auctions instead of purchasing them and hoping for the best.9 points

I'm not trying to bust your you know what but your attitude is precisely why scammers are so successful. Your logic is if it's a scam oh well ebay or paypal has got my back. Meanwhile the scammer got away Scott free with your money. Who do think reimburses you? The thief? It comes from PayPal or ebay who have to foot the bill, and then people wonder why the fees they charge keep going up and up.8 points

I ended up placing a couple orders from zavvi.com after they were rumored to be sold out. I didn't think I would get anything but today I got a nice surprise in the mail! I read they made 500 of each color, I ended up with 4 copies of red vinyl and one of them is #000001 as shown in the photo! Never expected that! If anyone ends up with an extra yellow and wants to trade for a red, keep me in mind. Time to break out the wheels of steel.. lol4 points

Ah, the classic Chinese 'Lego to Jewelry' bait and switch. It's the oldest trick in the book. I still have a giant heap of costume jewelry where my stack of MISB 10179's is supposed to be. I just can't bring myself to take the loss and accept that the UCS Falcons I was promised by 'supertrustguy99' (only $99 each with free shipping!) will never arrive... I mean, delivery from China can take a long time, right?2 points

Point taken I shall see if I can get in touch with ebay regarding a possible scam. In the future I will be a lot more careful not to be taken in.2 points

That could have been easily covered had USPS stopped subsidizing those damn mails from China.2 points

I am a seller that calls them new. If I part out a set (minifigs), are they used because I sliced open a big bag to take the minifigures out? I don't use stock photos on sets like that and I also list a good description of what was done so it isn't a surprise. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Brickpicker mobile app2 points

Something about Star Wars and spaceships seems to trump all rationale when it comes to Lego investing. I have an equal share of these two so I'm happy to see either win. Assuming TOO poofs out completely soon, I expect Red Five to win the 1-2 yr appreciation race and TOO wins long-term.2 points

I might have bought a couple of those X-Wings at Sam's Club, but I'm not sure what they finally cleared out at? I think I saw them at $19.81. I thought about rigging them with some rocket kits for some Saturday night fun.2 points

Rumor has it that the Castle line will return but with the fantasy era which included dwarves, orcs, and ogres aside from the usual knights. It would seem time for my brethren to make a triumphant return. FOR THE HORDE!!!! The Brick Fan1 point

You are in the States, so it might differ, but sometimes I am charged a COD fee that is an import fee. For me in Ontario I think it is usually 13% of the declared value (I generally don't check it all that closely...might be off by a bit). If I'm particularly cranky I dispute the charge with amazon.co.uk, because CanadaPost delivers without import/brokerage fees literally all the time while other carriers are 50/50. Thus far amazon UK has refunded the fees every single time. Maybe like ten times total over the last three years.1 point

So Today was a pretty nice day, I just scored a 100% complete with a nice box the batcopter: the chase for scarecrow (7786) for $27 shipped :D1 point
-
as far as I have seen 30 days can mean any of 3 things. 1. The set is not done but currently there is no eta on new stock. this likely means a production run is not yet scheduled but planned. 2. They are pulling overstock from other regions, but shipping times are unknown. this is less common but does happen. 3. Their are no plans to produce more of these, but they do not want to tell us. this is one "sign" of EOL. Red5 is likely in category 3, but since stock is still pretty high in B&M stores they do not want a run of resellers grabbing them up.1 point

I never thought that I would say this, but I will buy an UA set. That boat... is amazing!1 point

Yeah, I don't mean to say Red 5 is bad. I wish I had loaded up during the 'oops' sale at Target.com last year when it was BOGO 50% (I think) for a day. It feels overpriced at $199 for 1500 pieces, and we are absolutely getting another X-wing this year. The only question is how big it will be. The more pieces, the greater a threat to 10240. Trek has done well so far with his call on 7965. I just get nervous holding a set I know will be released again shortly. There may be a very narrow window (now, give or take a few months) in which to sell those for good money. The Star Wars UCS set I'm most excited about (other than the just-released Slave 1) is the Sandcrawler. I financed a year's maximum IRA contribution selling 10144's back in the day, and the new one looks so much better. Also, I don't think China is counterfeiting Jawas (yet).1 point

Would these pieces be from all those stud shooters LEGO was trigger-happy in sticking onto every build this year?1 point

legodelorean here is my thoughts responding to you Well as I prefaced I am only speculationg. Of course what is this thread called? Speculation? If it was facts only required I guess this forum would not be needed. Here is my take on things for the EEE: All of it is from memory and therefore subject to being not 100% accurate but I have provided links: - Recently the EEE went to sold out in Europe http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Maersk-Line-Triple-E-10241 - Recently someone (not me) in Europe contacted Lego LEGO Shop at Home in Europe and they sent them an email confirming it is not coming back he posted (see EEE thread for text) http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/5924-10241-maersk-triple-e/?p=412876 - Recently someone else in Europe got a similar response from Lego LEGO Shop at Home in Europe (see EEE thread for message) http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/5924-10241-maersk-triple-e/?p=415110 - I thought someone in the last 6-12 months said Maersk timelines can possibly go shorter than other sets based on history brickset shows Maersk Train 10219 at about 19 months in US and maersk ship 10155 about 7 months in US - So for me I said I have no idea but here is my thoughts I am not all on fire about this set. I am not saying it is going away. I am saying I am guessing. This is a speculation thread. I have 6 and may want to get 3 or 4 more if I can but am not that worked up about it. If you are wanting to have one I'd suggest to try to get one soon to be safe but who knows it could be here another year. One good thing to look at is from the past Lego Europe LEGO Shop at Home sale. (forget when it was late last year?) What is left that was discounted and has not gone to retirement? I think for sure EEE and SOH. Almost every other one has gone away from what I remember. - In the case of Red 5, I was not the only one commenting. Ed Mack basically said he has no idea if it is retiring or not but he also said he suggested if you want one you should consider going ahead and getting it. Likewise I have no idea if it is going or not but I feel safer with where I am at now than I did two months ago. I hope this helps you in your decision. thanks, Trek1 point

Why argue with Lego about being a reseller when you are? I don't get that. It's not going to work anyway (no one here has gotten *out* of a ban that I know of). I don't like the policy either, but if Lego decides to ban me for being a reseller - even though I've got 8 Lego-loving children so as good of an excuse as anyone for why I buy multiples of any set, I'll take it like a man. There's very little in this world worth lying about, neither Lego nor money make the list.1 point

So we've obviously had space and town police stations. Now City has given us Forest and Swamp Police Stations. What's next? The Outback with wily dingos and kangaroos to rob the locals? Maybe a Police Station for the Arctic theme because we all know how much trouble the polar bears cause. These are getting ridiculous. All the while the town doesn't have proper bank, post office, or gas station.1 point
