  1. I hear those LEGOs were eastbound and down. If they don't get those SSDs to emazers in Texarkana they will be out a case of Coors.
  2. S @ H making a set 50% off on 5/4 and S @ H actually having them in stock on 5/4 are 2 completely different things.

  4. Yeah! The BrickPicker automated self-generating hype system algorithm worked again...
  5. OK well I just bought my third one. Was really going back and forth but got a $200 GC for 180 and then used red card for remaining $1.86 which then gave me another 5% off for a total of $181.86. Not a great discount but better than $200 plus tax.
  6. Ah yes, the Satanist lego devotee. My target customer for these. I plan to package the ToO up with the goat and virgin minifigures to conjure maximum profit.
  7. ...Or maybe LoTR fans, perhaps??
  8. Don't get high on your own supply!
  9. Here is my haul today from Meijer. If you have one in your area I suggest you get to it fast. Of course in the haste to get to the 2nd Meijer to clean it out I was going so fast an Olivia' House fell in front of my cart and I cut a full wheel line all the way through the middle of the box sort of like a Transformer being cut in half. I'll make sure it has all bags and sell it as an open box. I should go to the other two Meijer's as a lot of it is not marked but want to spend the rest of the day at home. Very happy. Plan to quick flip most of this stuff. 1 - 60051 Passenger Train at 56.26 18 - 41005 Heartlake High at 19.87 each 4 - 3315 Olivia's House at 28.12 each 3 - 41015 Dolphin Cruiser at 26.54 each 3 - 75018 Jek 14 at 27.75 each 3 - 70725 Nindroid Mech Dragon at 30.00 each 2 - 60550 Train Station at 24.37 each 1 - 75019 AT TE at 33.74 1 - 75017 Duel on Geonosis at 15.00 1 - 60006 Police ATV at 2.62 5 - 60011 Surfer Rescue at 2.62 each 1 - 31004 Fierce Flyer 5.62 4 - 44028 Surge Rocka Combat at 9.37 each 1 - 31009 Small Cottage at 10.12 9 - 41000 Water Scooter Fun at 2.9 each 1- Transformers Generations Roadbuster at 9.37 each Plus tax total spend $1,039.35

  12. I'm just saying 5-guys in a hot tub didn't make it happen.
  13. Tip I would strongly advise you order one set per order if you are ordering from Target. They come nicely packaged that way; Just take out the receipt and you are all set. Also if you order more than one, target will most likey ship them all in one box
  14. That's what bulk lots are for. You can get all sorts of assorted freebies, like loose change, or used gum, and sometimes even a book.
  15. Thanks for the info Trek! Great to have people here willing to share info, tips and tricks.
  16. They gave me a specific exact quantity of how many they had and were quite confident. I called several times during the R2 wind down and it worked like clock work. Less people are buying this than you believe.
  17. Genuinely just picked up the phone and called them. Did the same when R2 was going on. It was slightly over 200 last week as I mentioned. I bet they are at 100 or so now. Does someone want to call this time and ask? Toys R Us will not give that information out on the phone I have tried. They say they don't know whether they do or not.
  18. Agree with all of the above. I know some people just go ahead and mark everything as NISB, because someone else`s idea of MISB may be different, and thus you have an issue. I`ve done this form day one as a seller, everything goes NISB even if it may be MISB, I just fear someone getting the item and making a fuss over some minor imperfection that they perceive as being different form what I would. Paranoid maybe, but I don`t want the headache. Doesn`t affect the value that much if at all anyway, so you can either play it safe or not. All depends on how you want to list/sell whatever set it is you are selling.
  19. Another reason why many think it is a "slow seller" is that - until just recently - seal codes on just about every one that had been received were 11R3.
  20. Brickset added some set pages that include new official images for the Avengers sets. 76029-1: Iron Man vs. Ultron 76030-1: Duel with Hydra 76031-1: Hulkbuster Rescue Mission 76032-1: The Avengers Quinjet Chase 76038-1: Attack on Avengers Tower

'84 was a big one for us. It was early and took about three days to plow residential streets. I can't remember but it wasn't so much the amount of snow (36" or so) but that it drifted and ended up 4-5' deep and packed on the streets. I remember my dad having to tunnel out of our front door as it drifted to the roof line. It's the only time they dispatched the military vehicles to help ambulances and fire trucks as well. 97 was a touch smaller but it was in late March so it fell on top of a winters worth of snow. We also ended up with an epic flood that lasted weeks. Our city is protected by a floodway though and they spend over $600 million making it bigger and raising bridges after. That should give my city away... No other city in NA has a floodway like ours. That reminds me, I hate sand bagging. What a crappy job.

I went to college just north of Atlanta and one of my professors was Canadian, everyone told her that whenever there was any sign of snow the school would close. One day there were a few flurries with maybe six total snowflakes between them. Guess who was the only person to not show up. To this day I don't think she's lived that one down.
  23. I think the only good news on that Jokerland set is that it looks like Funhouse could be a good set to pair with it, although I'm sure people were hoping for something more AA like. Kind of another one where the MOC's people have made get our hopes up for the actual set.

When snowstorms happen around me the whole state shuts down for a week.
  25. "No man... can wear one face to himself and another to the multitude, without finally getting bewildered as to which one may be true." by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
  26. I am counting on you US guys to clear the shelves over there first like what happened with the SSD. Normally here in Europe it should give us some time to react after that and start hoarding. I know there is a risk but my pockets are tight these days. So I have to choose my long-term investment sets wisely.
  27. You know, you are not the first to suggest that and I would not bet against it at all. The curse of Astrid may yet bite again. I see PR going long and PC going short with PS in between.....
  28. Let me guess, you'll have to use parts of the cardboard box to build the model?
  29. Anyone know if Lego produces City plumbing sets on a regular basis? Personally, this set 100% sold me with that port-a-potty / Johnny on the spot. I really think people will dig the set for years to come just with that element alone. It's awesome and people (at least Americans and dry-humored Brits) dig bathroom talk.
  30. if i remember correctly, you also need to space your orders out or target (like amazon) will still combine diff orders when shipping.
  31. 6- Utapau Troopers @ $5 WM On Saturday was able to find 3 - LOTR An Unexpected Gathering @ $26
  32. i purchased 5 lego the movie flying flushers from shop@home on sale. the price ($17.98) was hard to beat. it's a fun set. i think this set will eventually turn out to be one of the more popular movie sets. people like pumblers, port-a-potty, and plungers. i bought 1 of these last year with my son and he really liked it. while the minifigs are not popular movie chars, this might turn out to be a plus as all of these are exclusive. did you buy any? lego US link = http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=jfOcdvfTNg4&subid;=&offerid=115554.1&type=10&tmpid=2294&RD_PARM1=http://shop.lego.com/en-US/The-Flying-Flusher-70811
  33. They now have less than 50 left. I expect them to be gone by tomorrow at the latest. Keep in mind it could come back, that Toys R Us has stock and you can order at Lego. By no means does this mean it is going away. It does mean stock will be gone this week at Target whether they restock or not.
  34. I don't think box art really affects value that much. There are probably very few MISB Lego collectors, I can't imagine the space you'd need for a reasonably sized collection. I've built this model and think it looks great. The only thing I'd knock it for is some scale issues... I wish they'd use the 4x4 droid dome like they used on Obi-Wan's ship; the R2 minifig looks miniscule next to the X-Wing. The engines also need to be a bit bigger too. Those issues aside, it makes for a great display piece. I think the UCS TIE Fighter will also drive the price of this set up, you can't have one without the other.
  35. I know this might be off topic a little bit, but I thought it might be worthwhile to share that Target physical (brick and mortar) stores will match amazon.com, walmart.com, and yes target.com prices if you go to their Customer Service desk. For example, Benny's Spaceship was $109.00 in the local Target store. target.com listed it for $80.99. Walmart.com had it for $80.00. I went up to Customer Service and pointed out walmart.com's price, and they matched it. With the RedCard 5% discount, the total was $76.00 (before tax). So, from $109 --> $76... Anyway, just thought it was worth mentioning.
  36. Don't hold your breath. This set is still OOS and I'm sure LEGO knows once the signs of retirement are there, they will have no problem blowing these out at MSRP to resellers.
  37. I have no idea why people make comments like this set sells doesn't sell well. Nobody here really knows. In fact, it's prob the opposite as the sales seem to exceed what Lego mgt predicted (inventory-wise). It is sold-out at 2 of 5 retailers. The last set we honestly know that did not sell well at MSRP was 10227 because it was heavily discounted during it's final 6 month (even more so than other sets during that era when exclusives were discounted).
  38. UCS sets usually have a 3+ years retail life. the only exception was the slow-selling 10227 B-wing. This set is popular enough to give it at least 3 years availability especially with it's appearance in ep 7. this set will only have higher demand come Dec 2015. now if this was a non-UCS version (like the recently sol-out MF, i would totally understand if it was nearly done). i wouldn't worry right now about the other SW UCS and larger sets on retail shelves as they all seem to be decent sellers. additionally, most sellers of this set use warehouse space (and not in physical stores). while lego.com stock might be 30 days behind, online retailers aren't selling out which usually means lego just isn't producing enough for their own online stores. just my 2 cents.
  39. cryptic posts from the red devil
  40. Don't worry about it legodelorean. My mother-in-law lives in Michigan, and has Meijer. We always go when we visit. You'd rather have our SoCal weather.
  41. I also bought 2 Too today. think I will also buy a few more in the next few weeks
  42. I knew I shouldn't click on the link. Now I need to bleach my brain !!!
  43. I was driving with my friend a couple hours away from home and was minding my own business. I started hearing a rattle and pulled over because something seemed off. Found this huge nail sticking out of my tire. No idea why it was in the road as there was no construction. I called AAA for help as neither my friend nor I had ever changed a tire (I bet we could figure it out but it was getting late and dark). The guy laughed when he saw the size of the nail (and informed me my emergency break doesn't actually work). He said I may be able to patch it up. But apparently Bubblegum would not work (I was so annoyed so a but of humor could work). Thankfully Firestone was able to fit me in as their last client and I got great deals on the tires. I also learned my tires were bald and that explained why I would hydroplane all the time driving to school in the rain. Firestone also changes snow tires for free if you have their tires so that was helpful for this upcoming storm. Which by the way may be terrible as I was contacted by the Red Cross saying we are on Alert for possible starting shelters and stuff (I am a volunteer).
  44. any chance of this being a special freebie, even though its not current announced as such? especially considering the flower cart is gone pretty much everywhere?
  45. An idea for this polybag would be to buy a bunch and create a bumper car ride to go with the Fairground Mixer. Then sell off the Joker minifigures to offset the cost so that the bumper cars are free.
  46. I'm a 40% taxpayer as well but the wife ain't, so she's the reseller.
  47. Chin up! We'll get through another round! Slow-moving parents of young children despise faster-moving parents of small children who get there first. Fast-moving parents of small children despise adult collectors who buy the last box on the shelf when they SHOULD leave it "for the children!" Collectors despise the collector/casual investor who buys TWO of a set (shocking! Just shocking! Even if they are the LAST TWO!!) and don't leave any for the purist collector. Collector/Casual Investors despise the Mid-Level Investor/Collector who don't leave any for them. Mid-Level Investor/Collectors despise the High-Level Investor/Reseller (often those counting on Lego for a significant amount or all of their income) who don't leave any for them. It's not "sick" for someone to buy more Lego than another person, or for them not to leave Lego on the shelf for the children, the parents, the purist collectors, the casual investors, the lazy, the stupid, or the weak. We're not talking bottled water in a hurricane here, we're talking a luxury toy. I won't call you whiny if you don't call me sick. Or, better yet, keep calling me sick all you want instead of taking steps to make sure you can compete with me on the fair and level playing field called "Open Hours" at the store selling Lego.
