I sold my very first set today. A 75056 Star Wars Advent Calendar for $79.xx BIN on eBay. I am no longer just a hoarder/collector - I've crossed over and I'm glad to be here.

last night after going out to dinner with my wife we stopped off at target to pick up wrapping paper and some other non-lego junk. as we strolled by the lego section i spy an endcap of 20 or so target minifigure packs - scan at $15. put 6 in cart to wife's dismay. "you already ordered 12 of those yesterday online" "yes honey, but time is of the essence." eyes rolled, nose in air, slight scowl. listed a lot of 6 for $159 bin free shipping before bed, wake up and it has sold. made $38.36 on the flip after fees, taxes, shipping. told her she can take that out of paypal account and that we bought her dad's xmas gift with the flip. point. set. match.

I'm totally all over this idea... BTW For the record, this is post #1000!

Bought 6 Joker Stream Roller with 6 free Target minifigures @ Target store, sold all 6 Target minifigures between $28.5 -$34.5 shipped within 24 hrs. So that's like a little over $20 discount on each Stream Roller.

We've recently seen an amazing wave of exclusives and high-end sets go out-of-stock and presumably retire. While we don't yet know for certain which of these sets are truly retired and which may come back into stock after the Christmas rush, I think it would be fun to speculate which of these sets will see the fastest price appreciation to the 5x RRP level. Personally I believe that 10224 Town Hall has the greatest potential to be the first of this pack to reach 5x. Implied in that statement is that I'm convinced it is retired (other than a few oddball shipments showing up here and there) and won't be coming back. My case for Town Hall is as follows: The EOL was unexpected. Most thought that that GE would would exit from the stage with a lot of lead time before TH, so having it EOL almost simultaneously with GE left people unprepared. This means that many people who want it for their personal collection likely don't have one. It is less stockpiled by speculators. Not only due to the suddenness of the EOL, but also due to the $200 RRP. It is a modular so people wanting to "complete the set" will need to purchase it. With a RRP of $200 Town Hall will need to reach $1000 to be at the 5x level. Any one want to guess how long it will take? Anyone else care to speculate another recent exclusive that will be first to reach 5x? EDIT: Ok, make the case for non-exclusives also if you prefer. But please explain **why** you think the set has great promise.

It is painful talking to them. I had some gift cards that I tried to use on their site. submitted the order, didn't went through, however, balance is 0 now. According to one of their CS. balance is on hold. according to the rest of their team, they have no idea. battling on to get my money back.

My gut tells me a big Batcave is coming. 6860 was an amazing seller and I think they kept it around an extra year while they built a big exclusive Batcave/Wayne Manor. If it is coming AA leaving makes sense.

yes to clarify. there are no free bubble mailers from USPS for FirstClass, but there are free clear envelopes to put your labels in. I personally use #0 bubble mailers and half sheet labels

there is somewhat obscure (but working) way to ship stuff using ebay discounted rates (USPS and UPS) via Paypal, even if you did not sell something via eBay (say, bricklink). The people that think there will be a re-release are more of the "I don't have it, I want it, but I don't want to pay for it crowd", with a little "I am going to load up on them to make a ton in the aftermarket" (not realizing that everyone else will and it will be a Death Star scenario). If you want one, buy one.... Or don't

Yea I have a feeling the next falcon will look like the current AT AT and Star Destroyer, smaller versions of sets past

not with darth vader and young han solo and young princess leia. also as someone already pointed out, the MF in the movie trailer has a square antenna, not a circle, so unlikely to be the same. for now 7965 is the second biggest lego MF ever made. and with a little help and god willing, the next MF will be some $69.99 600 piece Midi-monstrosity right at grandma's price point aimed at kids not adults which will further propel 7965 into post EOL hyperspace.

In case this was missed in the DD thread...this is OOS at TRU.com finally. Low price on Amazon is $74.99. Would like to see it climb closer to $100, we'll see how long that takes though.

actually i stand corrected, dubzero you are correct. looks like there is potential of abuse and it does look like it has been done to take away competition inventory at the lower prices.

The Guardians of the Galaxy sets have a tag saying "available for a limited time" in the official lego catalogue of this semester. Is it any indication of retirement?
