I sold my very first set today. RI for $52us +shipping. (And a fiasco of printing two seperate shipping labels). Because this was my first sale on eBay, or anywhere, I added a bonus polybag (but they don't know that) for taking a chance on a first time eBay seller. I'm on my way to millions!!!

There is nothing leading to the conclusion that Lego was ever against the project which became the Research Institute set or they only produced it just because of a random letter from somebody

flipper anyone? if so, it should have been done about 3 weeks ago. hold onto for the long-term. if not, maybe you can try to flip again at christmas

Sorry this is the only thing I ever saw that was related to Lost.

At one point I was convinced it was going to be the greatest show ever. Then the last season came. Now, I was a mega fanatic, listened to the podcasts, visited all the sites, investigated all the mysteries (wish I had poured that energy into Lego back then). But the show creators stopped caring about answering the mysteries. And in their podcast years earlier they said that it was not all a religious purgatory but it was...those other people had died and were waiting for Jack to die so they could complete their ascension into whatever heaven or such that they were going to. Bogus, stupid, religious ending. Like everything Lindelof touches, it ends up being about religion, see Prometheus (Jesus was an engineer, google it). I refuse to watch the Leftovers because I know it will be all about god. And the thing about pulling the cork in the cave...really dumb. It peaked with all the Faraday time travel stuff but then just unravelled completely.

Really wasn't a feature that was talked about or used all that much. I will revisit it again after a few of these other products are released. Right now, my main goals are to get classifieds launched, a site update for certain areas and a new mobile app that we haven't talked about that goes with one of our new features. Based on the direction this site has headed in, we feel it will be something useful to many.

There is one RI set on ebay at $87. The next lowest is $93. I anticipate ebay to be $100 by Labor Day. Lego has clearly told me on the phone that the letter from the little girl came in after their decision to release the set. That could be true or may not be but that is what I was told and that the letter did not effect the decision. With all of that in mind I might be more of the opinion to say $19.99 retail for a 150 piece set with 3 mini figures is underpriced. Not from a buyers perspective but from Lego caring enough to mass produce this, print boxes, distribute and freight costs. Are they really making that much money off of it? I think this set is done. I find it interesting comments that state it is coming back with not even pointed rumors to justify the statement. You cannot trust LEGO Shop at Home information but at least their firm statements construed as rumors are pretty clear. If someone has something to prove it is going into full manufacturing I would like to hear the rumor and source. However, If it reaches $100 on eBay I will most likely unload most of mine.

It makes it a much easier decision to hold if you only have 2-4 of these. If you have 30-50, unload, IMO. It might not be worth the risk to lose out on the money on the table right now.

She's just one of the folks who gains enjoyment writing to sellers to tell them their prices are too high. You get them sometimes. I always seem to end up behind them in the line at the supermarket. You can ignore their messages, or send back a polite, "Thank you for your interest, but this is our best price at this time."

Considering the success of Lego and DC cartoons over the last few years, they could do worse than putting out a recurring DC Lego cartoon the way they do for Ninjago and Chima. Kids would make that show a massive hit.

This is my first post but I got the last Super Star Destroyer 10221 today at a Legoland Store for $400. When i mentioned the Lego VIP program she said "Sorry we don't partake in the program as we're just a gift shop and not part of the Lego Store. I know you'll be losing a lot of points but I can give you 5% off on this." So with tax the total cost was $410.00. I haven't been so excited to spend that much money in a while!

And so the age of returns begin....

Are we not supposed to do that, or is it just bad etiquette? I've done that once here, before the Bricktrader section was open, but the guy mentioned he got some damaged boxes and I just wanted one to build. I've done that on other forums too. Might as well go straight to the source if there is a hint they might be interested in something, otherwise it may get missed in the trade section.

EBay was quick to catch up in price. I'm thinking about listing more to secure funds incase they come back. Think of it as dollar cost averaging.

TLC was against that set. It took a certain letter from a certain girl to practically force their hand (or at least that is our interpretation). TLC normally does not release two CUUSOO/Ideas sets on the same day. Do you think this set would sold out if there was at least one male minifigure there? With all-female cast, this set was making a statement. Making statements is controversial

a little bit off topic but does anyone remember how long after AS was sold out did it come back and destroy the secondary market? EDIT - thanks jaisonline - for anyone that cares AS went out of stock Oct 30th 2013 at shop at home and then came back in February 2014 to TRU before coming back to shop at home in March 2014. Moderator note: Prices gradually rose from Oct. 2013 - Jan. 2013 with the AS peaking at around $375 - $400. Right after they hit TRU in February 2014, they announced a new release of AS in the Summer. Once they came back into stock at LEGO Shop at Home in March 2014, prices plummeted. A few Brickpicker's were able to do a very quick dump of their stock when they hit TRU in February, but others debated whether it would come back or not and they are still holding their stock, or they dumped them for $175 - $200 shortly afterward. ex

there were what? 10 different models in the ideas for this set and they picked 3 of the women occupations? They can just make another set with the others, then people would want to collect them all. That would help us out a LOT. it's like having GG or CC before everyone knew what direction it was going

I approached the movie with an open mind. I figured the critics unfairly killed the movie. And I really wanted to see the constitution train. I had to turn it off after 40 minutes. What an horrible experience.

Lego might just let go of this, and design a new, but similar set for a longer time frame - outside of IDEAS.

I got two of these early on in the sell out period and paid $40 each. Was feeling pretty stupid about that, but I feel better.

Well... maybe they have to air "Back to the Future III" on television more often. That maybe will help this theme. Ha! There used to be so nice western movies and series like: How the west was won, Once upon a time in the west, etc. A shame that is over now.
