My wife made a box to keep her wedding bouquet in using four picture frames and a piece of thick card stock all held together with hot glue. It worked very well until my son hit it with a soccer ball. Funny thing, the spot that it used to sit on top of a book case is now occupied by my QAR.3 points

I don't want anyone buying them at MSRP. I want them buying them at 3x MSRP. Preferably from me.3 points

GE is EOL. Here alot of retailers do not carry them anymore. Production is done. The ones that are still around are the last ones remaining. Maybe Lego can sing it out till Xmas, maybe not. Yes, it is a brickpicker effect that it goes so fast. But I believe Lego cut the decision and the production lines are cleared already and in use to produce other sets. Just my humble $0.022 points

** Canada TRU for all you poor souls south of the border stocking up on Exos. ** I just picked up a single lonely RI set at a TRU near me. They figured it was a return *shocked* because they had never even seen it (that's because I cleaned that TRU out the first day they had it in store). Anyways, I asked if they could look it up for stock since Monday AM is when my stores get new shipments and they had a pallet of Hasbro & Lego boxes (read as many labels as I could... no Exos or RIs ). They had all kinds of trouble looking it up as the inventory search wasn't matching SKUs so they called the manager and he punched in a few more things... And this is what I was told. - Any large order of the RI input into the system has been cancelled. The only current order was very small and that he doubted they'd even get any stock with such a small order. - What I saw on the screen was orders for Aug 4, Aug 14, Aug 23, and Aug 30. It had three rows visible to me.. QUEA, ONTA and WEST. - Aug 4 was approx 300 units split pretty evenly over the three lines. - Aug 14 was approx 180, also split evenly. - Aug 23 was approx 100 with almost all going out west and - Aug 30 was 14 with 7 going to each of ONTA and QUEA with WEST reading 0. Of course this is all pure speculation because I don't know what those numbers mean... ordered vs inventoried, who knows. But in total it was just over 600 units. The internal SKU is 119558 if anybody wants to call and check their local TRU.2 points

If anyone wants to see what the official instructions look like then this Flickr gallery will help. Probably easier too since I can embed it into the post and you can go through it same as a slideshow. You can even see the parts list as well. It isn't a whole lot different than what I did a few posts back but this might be easier to follow for those of us more accustomed with Lego's setup. http://www.flickr.com/photos/neoape/sets/72157646320899458/2 points

...and then some. Sure, I know what you are thinking...."Ah this guy has thousands of dollars worth of (fill in the blank), how bad can it be?" Well, it's all relative. I see what I make in money now at my business and what we made years ago and we are working harder than ever to just keep status quo. Sure, I can eat a nice steak for dinner, but I also work 70+ hours a week to pay for it. We are on a slow decline in this country and it's going to get worse unless we can bring better jobs and pay back into the US. The minimum wage jobs being created won't support the LEGO secondary market.2 points

The new turtles are ugly, nuff said. Although, I was surprised we liked the movie. I still can't believe a Michael Bay movie was held to under 100 minutes. I was shocked!2 points

Thus far, I think once the hammer falls, you're struck out for life. Of course, you could try to weasel yourself out, like Djim did, and argue your case, but he did so during the investigation of his account, rather than after being banned. Edit: Lol... just beat by MartinP.1 point

Why put the add for buying lego? It usually attracts 'dump lots'. May look good but wait till you dig in. There are plenty of adds out there of people selling their lego because their kid got tired of it and it has been collecting dust since. I like the idea of some sort of business cards better. You go visit people that you buy some second hand lego from and if the lego looks decent, you give them a card. One condition, both buyer and seller need to have the feeling that they're actually making a good deal and not being ripped off. I encountered alot of soccermoms or families selling the lego of their kids. 2 weeks ago I met a Turkish woman that sold 4842 Hogwarts Castle for 85,51 point

I have sold Lego and other items to Chinese buyers through their social media sites and taobao but I had help. I can speak but not write and without that good luck. I see the young college age to mid thirties women buying expensive beauty and fashion products and the men this age buying technology and toys, including lego. This market will grow as the younger generation inherits the wealth, I have first hand seen that grandma born before 1940 won't even spend money, though she has lots, to buy a washing machine to make her life easier, next generation buys a washing machine and nice house, but won't' waste money on fashion or luxury, and the kids born after mid 1970 will buy all sorts of frivolous items including toys and lego. This market will develop. People everywhere if they can afford it buy products from the best most reputable companies. Also protections for intellectual property will increase as more Chinese nationals wish to protect their IP at home and internationally. Spoke with a China national Professor of Science at University of Saskatchewan this weekend and it is true that China wants to spend its vast reserves buying technology from the U.S. which we have been and I hope will continue to be reluctant to do for obvious reasons until more protections are in place.1 point

I guess I am lucky that I had a small room. I put all of these away in boxes in a closet. I have seen a few yellowed white bricks, but for the most part they are in good shape. I also found a few random things in the boxes. The best one so far has been a Micro Machine haha.1 point

This sucks so hard. I appreciate them sending the pieces, but nothing kills the buzz of building a new set as hard as a missing piece. They will tell you how sorry they are and that they understand.1 point

I'm making funny research Institute shirts if anyone has interest. They r as politically correct as this set is. In fact I'm having this girl make them just so I being a male don't get backlash for exploring women and a child's toy all at once.1 point

I posted an ad on CL offering to buy Lego. My first response on the first day as a biggie. Seller had roughly 50+ pounds of Lego that he wanted to sell. He also had a stack of the instructions. Here is the list. Number - QTY 6086 1 6090 1 6276 1 6988 1 6071 1 6195 1 6983 1 6973 1 6957 2 6955 1 6062 1 6175 2 3053 1 6981 1 9492 1 6386 1 6180 1 6049 1 9493 1 6923 1 6939 1 5958 1 6048 1 6265 1 7126 1 6969 1 6999 2 6381 1 6047 1 6442 1 7130 1 6887 1 6898 1 6259 1 6896 1 2153 1 6590 1 3050 1 6919 1 6261 1 6675 2 6582 1 1822 1 4012 1 6836 3 6876 1 6037 1 6043 1 6879 1 1821 1 8816 1 9490 1 6878 1 1737 1 6027 1 6155 1 5938 1 6007 1 6877 1 6831 1 6851 1 6556 1 6812 1 6458 1 6829 1 6531 1 5918 1 6909 1 6852 1 6811 1 6813 1 6125 1 6467 1 6572 1 6465 1 6115 1 6453 1 6837 1 6835 1 6235 1 6903 1 6107 1 6452 1 8825 1 6818 1 6463 1 6431 1 6324 1 6585 1 6110 1 6626 1 1461 1 2880 1 That is 99 sets. I don't expect 100% completion on that whole list but the top 10 sets are looking close and those are the meat of this lot. I paid $350 for all. Now comes the fun of cleaning, sorting, building, posting and selling! I did notice that the baseplate for Black Knights Castle is missing, all others are there. Also looks like all the minifigures are there as well. Too bad the forest and ninja females were re-released. Those used to be very valuable. I'll get some pics up around lunch time.1 point

Yeah, they'll go together. You can see what sets they have been used in on Bricklink, and if they are common to the set (like set 3187 for instance), you're good to go.1 point

That on the other hand is not a bad idea.... Ciglione Lego Restauration & Sale Doesn't seem cheesy to me unless it's printed on ordinary paper1 point

Yeah, me too. I always thought the Exo looked like it was drunk or something, staggering about. I don't think the image really shows it in its best light. I generally like the Ideas boxes though.1 point

I am curious too about this. It always crosses my mind to put an adv. up. But never done it cause I think it will not be successful.1 point

I think the figs being released separately does not bode well for this set. Especially since the CMF versions of the characters look better. That said, when this set retires it will be the only set of its kind and unlikely to return ever, so it'll have nowhere to go but up.1 point

I already have the Volvo and the cargo plane. I kind of went over board the last couple of months and dropped serious cash catching up on a lot of sets. And im itching to build more lol.1 point

I don't like the batmobile at all - the shape and everything about this one. BUT... you did a pretty nice job. I think that will pass for it perfectly. Now you just need to build it and sell it "used" for 300$1 point

i never liked using shipping label printers or paper since they lack "proper" protection when mailing. this dates back to my glory days of selling sporting event tickets on ebay and stubhub when i tried all types of stick-on labels . instead, i put the shipping label (printed on plain paper) in free clear address pouches provided by USPS and UPS. I then attached those to the shipping boxes. the UPS pouches do not open when sealed while the USPS ones do (have a slit) since they are mostly used for international customs). of course, the USPS pouch can be taped sealed. links = http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/ship/packaging/docs/internet_labels.html https://store.usps.com/store/browse/productDetailSingleSku.jsp?productId=P_FORM_2976_E1 point
