As a few of you may remember, I bought a used TB for $130 off eBay a while ago. I completed the build today, and I am thoroughly impressed. I estimated that I spent 9 hours on the build in total. Here are some pictures including a few from unusual angles that most people don't see. Completed build: Slightly odd for the road to be uneven, but neccessary for the bridge to fold. Problem can be easily fixed by adding a flat plate. Coolest part of the build in my opinion. I really like that the slopes and plates match up so well. Uniquely printed shield, one for each side. Very nice little display window. Another nice touch to the set: mini cars. It's amazing what you can build with 10-20 little bricks! It's interesting that Jamie Berard (designer of the TB) decided to change to a different construction of the side columns rather than using the cheese-slopes lined up. Personally, I would have preferred a standardized system across the board. I tried to fit my camera lense inside, but it is too big. This is the best I could manage: Panels that give the TB the columns for each tower are attached using a basic SNOT technique (Stud ******ot O****** Top): In the end, there were only 5 missing pieces that I couldn't fulfill with my own pieces: 3 1x1 tan flat bricks, and two 2x2 tan flat tiles. Not bad. I'll just message the seller to see if he can find them, and if not, free replacement bricks from Lego CS.

I always sort by type using the bricklink categories as a guide. It's very easy to find a black 2x2 corner plate in a sea of similar type/size plates. It's hard to find the same piece in a sea of black.

Since nobody else seems to want to... (we all know people are getting the email notifications). Supraboy888 is an ex-user from the Vancouver area who boasted time and again about all the good deals he was getting (mostly illegally by failing to declare what he was bringing back at the Can-US border). He then spoke grandiose tales of selling his goods for small fortunes on Kijiji and other local selling sites/markets. When he sold a $20 set for $40 it was $25 of pure profit. (math mistake intentional) But his most famous quote (paraphrased of course) was that he could sell his goods out of his trunk in the TRU parking lot anytime anyplace for more than MSRP like "hotcakes". He has been banned and I can't remember what thread famous brag that was in. I don't remember exactly why he was banned other than he was just a real d*** in the forums. He stills sells locally on Kijiji and from what I understand he sells for quite small margins. I can't speak if you're truly selling them for the markup you've said (only you know the truth) but people are just reminiscing at your expense about a fool of a member. I think the advice here is .. be humble, don't act like a Supraboy888 and we'll all just get along. PS Vancouver does seem like a very good resellers market. There is definitely the population to support some large scale reselling so I'm not doubting you've scored some good deals. Sounds like you're piggybacking your costs onto some business expenses (i.e. gas $) but it never goes over well when people claim it costs them nothing to score such good deals... At a minimum takes "time" which is something not every member has in boat loads, or trunks full.

Yes. There are 8 Dark Bluish Gray road pieces and 5 blue plates that are loose in the box.

At the start, I was pretty anal and would put like-parts into smaller bags (depending on the set, that usually meant same color, or same type of parts like bricks vs plates vs technic parts) then all into a larger ziplock with a small piece of cardboard with the set name and # written on them. That took wayyy too long and now I tend to split the sets up into different colors (except for really small pieces like technic pins and odd pieces like antenna or 1x1 plates/studs or rope). Baggie them up separately and away I go. Special pieces such as those with stickers or printing often get their own teenie bag to try and prevent them from getting scratched. My son (almost 7) has reassembled a number of times for different sorting methods without any trouble. I always put that piece of cardboard with the set name/number in it. That way we can easily identify the set and find the instructions (stored elsewhere).

Why not? Different investing strokes for different folks. Additionally, this is a decent set to part currently (and for the past week) based on limited availability. Jojo is essentially running an a 21109 Exo Suit chop shop. Any least he's not parting out the suit itself Personally, I'm don't part out sets but it can be profitable if done correctly and with good luck invoked.

And another Azog? That is really the only reason to buy Dol Guldur Battle, aside from Radagast. I am really glad I only bought 2 Dol Guldurs way below MSRP for Azog. Will pair him up with white Warg from Attack of the Wargs set. Pretty disappointing. Fingers still crossed for Fell Beast, but hopes are dwindling.

Use online postage for discounts - if you're selling on eBay, you can just use eBay shipping. Good discounts, very simple to use. Yes, you need tracking, unless you enjoy getting defect strikes against you (eBay or Amazon) for "not delivered", and giving things away for free.

Welcome to the site. I sold my first polybag today and my shipping cost was right around $2, sent it in a bubble mailer.

After building our house, we had one room left too paint and carpet - my theatre room. It has been the "Lego Room" for the last couple of years. The wife has been pressuring me to move them somewhere else, so looking at putting a shipping container in the back yard. I've told her I am going to cut some 40gal drums in half, weld them to the top and paint it red. Can't wait!!!

It's going to be so awesome to tell my kids about the "good ole days" when you sent a check in the mail to a seller and they shipped the item to you. All while not knowing at all where your payment was or where your package was, and then one day, BAM it just shows up in the mail.

The earliest I think the set will retire is 2016 According to BrickSet, the set was released May 2012. Star Wars UCS sets have a history of being around more than 2 years (though not all were, like B-Wing) Also it is already confirmed that R2D2 is in the new movie (http://www.starwars.com/news/r2-d2-is-in-star-wars-episode-7-and-hes-fan-made). It seem unlikely that Lego would retire this much loved character before the new movie releases unless sales are horrible (which I doubt since it is sold out @ LEGO Shop at Home). The next SW film will be released Q4 2015 and would expect this set to be available into 2016.

Some time ago I would have said, start by sorting by color. Now I think it might be better to start sorting by type of brick. It is later easier to find a red brick in a pile of some-color bricks, than finding that red brick in a pile of other red stuff.

I liked the Monster Fighters design a lot, in particular the HH. Unobtrusive theme logo at the top, nice dark background that contrasts well with the green of the house/ghosts/ground, simple display of the house and included minifigs. Too many sets have such a cluttered, busy box design so it's nice to have one like this for a set that isn't specifically designed for adults.

Imagine if Yoda were to ever go to the dark side. He would be unstoppable. I vote for Darth Yoda.
