  1. The proof is right here.... I am a woman and a scientist... Master's degree in medical biology to be exact.
  2. Your above description kind of makes you sound like a male prostitute.
  3. Do you work with women? Until this set was made I was unaware they could be scientists, I would like some real world proof.
  4. The funny thing is that a lot of people on this site didn't like the set when it was first announced. I heard lots of people saying this and that about the set and not positive things, now people are over the moon about it. Lol Hilarious. And female minifigures or males, this whole lego is sexist and doesn't produce enough female minifigs is just so dumb. Who cares if lego were to never produce a single female minifigure, the few people that have nothing better to do than complain about things that no one cares about, that's who. Just like the Jabbas palace fiasco...oh it looks like a mosque and the figs represent terrorist. Oh please, that's the last thing I think of when I look at jabbas palace. Lego doesn't produce enough female minifigs? Fine then, where are all the black minifigs and Asian minifigs, oh wait there were plenty Asian minifigs back in the day....they were all yellow! I don't hear people complaining about that. I want an ideas set, limited release, black and Asian minifigure set. God people are ridiculous now days! Rant over.
  5. Maybe that's the answer to the other topic about being banned from lego shop@home. Our wifes are calling lego and saying: "I am not sure, but I think my husband might be a reseller".
  6. I think the "selfie" is the end of mankind as we know it...
  7. Rob D. (agaethon29) built what most of us looked like early in the morning on August 1st.

I think there is conspiracy - i don't see no badge... someone stole my badge..
  9. At collishop.be the 7939 cargo train for 108 euro. Who is interested, only 1 left! Hurry up! http://www.collishop.be/e/nl/cs/868347-110-lego-city-7939-vrachttrein-2349029
  10. So far, no one reported at BP about being banned from non-US lego shop. So, you can do 100 orders of 5. Though, of course, there is always first time. And your wife could ban you.
  11. Corrected for accuracy(wink..wink)... Did You Know? Ole Kirk Kristiansen, the Founder, came up with the name
  12. As a giganic Batman fan, it was quite disheartening to know that I would not be one of the lucky few (or scalpers) to purchase this set. However upon learning about bricklinking recently, I realized I could just wait until someone skillful enough to put it all together would be able to help everyone out. Thusly, TOK you are the MAN! I decided to save all the instructions and put them together in a pdf form incase anyone wanted to have them easily accesible without jumping back and forth btwn images (or LDD). http://www.filedropper.com/sdccbatmobile Also, I managed to piece this together for the low low price of $17.26~! across 5 orders (without s&****) as I also already had the two mini-figs (even if they aren't show accurate ) I signed up simply to reply and give thanks to TOK for doing this and making this Batman fan supremely happy~!!! THANK YOU!!!!!
  13. All right, boys and girls... Mods, feel free to move it to "what I heard from lego employee today", but here it is - the answer from Lego CS to my "where the F is the listing for 10221" question. Of course I am going to ask them how come it is still available in Europe with limit 5 Of course I am going to ask them why other retired sets still retain the product page. And yes, it is indeed funny how they don't mention ebay Ta-daaa "Dear XXXXXXX, Thanks for getting in touch with us. I
  14. Well, the wife received my first order from Target on this set. Packed pretty loosely without any filler but she said they all came in OK.
  15. Well spank my aft and call me Ishmael, here we go again.

Just like any other lot, start with the mini figures. Then bash your head repeatedly against a wall. The problem isn't the size of the lot, it's that there is no profit left in it.
  17. Bought a 3065 Olivia's Tree House from Walmart for $13.
  18. Ha! Sorry dude I'm not emazers, I don't post info for everyone to see. It's all good if you don't believe me, I kinda wish I didn't order so many as I had to hear the wife complain about it all day long and she isn't done yet. She is just practicing for the Tumbler fiasco that will surely ensue in 3 or so weeks.
  19. The misses doesn't appreciate my updated collection so I thought I would share it with those who might.
  20. My magic 8 ball said: Outlook not so good http://www.ask8ball.net/ :D :D
  21. I think he was just making an observation, and it's not far from the truth if you ask me.
  22. Says the guy calling Asians Yellow. Tone it down please you are the one pouring fuel on the fire.
  23. You will have to manually update your Wanted List. I would make a note in the Remarks field on your Wanted List as to the store that you ordered it from, but refrain from deleting the item from your Wanted List until you've received it. You just never know when you've messed up your order, or the person packing it forgets to include something. You want to make sure you know how many you still need, if you don't get the right amount in your order.
  24. Been getting 150+ for this set so call me a believer
  25. That sounds like a betting opportunity - What's the over/under in days on a lego related fatality? There's more than one way to profit from this. Now back to flipping my sets.
  26. Sold another $7 Wolverines Chopper Showdown for $65 on ebay, and a Shelob Attacks and Orc Forge on Craigslist to a guy the next office tower over from me for $90 total. One of the nice things about being here in Toronto doing this is that all of the Canadian buyers flock to me for ebay sales since I'm willing to ship here (most US sellers won't for whatever reason). This is also the second sale in a week I've made from Craigslist to someone in the same postal code. It's not only cheaper but also faster to walk these sets over for sale than to walk them to a post office.
  27. Yes, but we like money most of all. Money will convert a lot of people into believers.
  28. This must be the second time recently someone said the image of a set looked unofficial which turned out later to be official. Images for the new MTT were shown a month back, some people said it was fake (even the image from someone
  29. i'm now thinking the window for selling this set might be shorter than originally thought due to the long retail life and upcoming refreshes. i'm not sure of it's long term growth. why? if Batman 75th teaser posters are indicators, Wonder Woman will be refreshed soon with silver accents along with other minor details. it has been over 2 years since her minifig was introduced so she's due. i'm not sure how Superman and Lex refreshes but I can imagine the same exact 6862 Supes being in a future set before his next movie. also in the 1st poster below, we have a Green Lantern who we now know is arriving soon with Space Batman (from another poster that also showed the SDCC Batman, Zur-En-Arrh). additionally, the SDCC 1966 Batmobile was in an earlier teaser poster.. At the time each poster was introduced, items depicted were either already in-production or about to be (mass retail or limited like the SDCC items). All this is just something to think about. nothing more, nothing less. furthermore, we know minifigures usually drive set demand (especially with super heroes who seem to be refreshed more often nowadays)
  30. That's why I'm still doing it. I also get to keep a few sets for myself since I'm also a Lego collector.

if you are sure it is complete and in good condition with little checking to do and instructions in good quality, possibly. Profit potentials isn't that high - depends where and when you will sell. I would decline.
  32. Martin, I'm in IT Mgt. Specially the integration side (connecting systems to systems both internally and externally) using TIBCO and Informatica. Thus, I know a lot about DBs, encryption, app server software, security certs, etc... Thus I know what is involved and the last year of data breaches SCARE me. My wife and I have started using cash more and more. Back in the 2000s, the majority of hackers did what they wanted for publicity among their peers. Today's hackers seem to be in it for money and street cred is secondary. Hacking truly turned into organized crime. The vast majority of web sites are not secure. The hackers are just too good. 33. It makes complete sense... Over the past 2-3 months I have experienced at least 4 fraudulent charges on 4 different cards. Plus, I know of at least 5 more cases of people close to me. Nuts Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker
  34. the theater i saw it in was the biggest at that complex and was full ... and LOTS of kids ... they will want this set especially for Rocket and Groot ... out of the 3 sets out for GOTG the 2 biggest ones that will include the team and the villain will excell ... already planning on being Groot for Halloween and dressing my 8 month old as Rocket ... haha ... will be awesome!!
  35. How did Lego become a gender battleground? How did Lego become a gender battleground? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-28660069 This BBC article says there will be another run on this set
  36. What would you like to get out of it? What amount of money would you have to get to make it worth, listing, packing, shipping? We can speculate on what it would hit, but you more likely know what you want out of it. I briefly looked at the other recent $20 Superhero sets, and behind Wolverine's Showdown and the Spider Cycle this is probably the third best seller. It also gets over MSRP and until recently was available for $15. The Cosmic Cube Chase is getting $35 now and Wolverine's Chopper is at $62, both retired. The build is better on the Cosmic Cube, but the minifigs are better on Wolverine's Chopper, IMO. This set has good figures and a good build, I can see this set getting to $50, maybe $60, within a year of retirement, but not near as fast as the WC did. I would guess that Lego will release a set with Wonder Woman in her outfit from the new game, which will probably hurt this sets potential, I just don't think she is as popular as the WC figs. They may release a revised Superman too, but we had all those MOS sets, so who knows. Edited to add that it looks like the Man Bat set is similar in sales to this one and also over MSRP even though Walmart has it for $16. I would keep your eye on that one too, although it is further out from retirement.
  37. Reply to No More Monkeys: Wow that is nice that they refer to BL. I have heard of LEGO CS referring to BL for missing pieces and the such but never for retired sets. Referring to Brickset is not that surprising since nothing actually is sold there it is more a data bank than anything, even their forum comes second to the data IMHO (discovered BS years and years ago when searching for info about monorail or something old my memory could be failing but did not find the forum until 1 year after), but on the other hand Brickset itself refers mostly to ebay and secondarily to Amazon... The real shocker to me is why mention Amazon directly on the email? Of all places where the secondary market reaches the highest prices (since sellers pay higher fees) is Amazon, so it is there where the late buyer pays more above MSRP for the retired sets, and more likely to be upset and complain to LEGO. Next reply from LEGO: Sorry X set is retired but go to www.brickpicker.com where you can get the most up to date speculation on possibly retired sets, and hope you don't miss the boat next time.

I'm in the 20+ catagory for the LEGO movie with a 6 and an 8 year old. I've got to be in the 75-100 range with Frozen and probably 500+ with "Let It Go" song alone. I knew it was bad when I plugged my phone into the car stereo on my way to work and didn't change the song until "Let It Go" finished playing. My daughter has me trained well.

Inside Tour. Got banned while on the tour...that was fun. And "protesting" to the CEO didn't even work.

I've got a seven year old and a four year old, so I've seen it at least ten times. Maybe not the whole way through each time, but enough so that I have about 2/3 of the movie memorized. Don't even get me started on the horror that is Frozen... All I'll say about that is I had a batchelorette party go out on my boat and "Let It Go" was the first song that played when they plugged a phone into the PA, I did a very good rendition at the top of my lungs. And then hung my head in shame.
  45. Kurt...And Nirvanas' place in rock history was secure well before his passing.
  46. Thanks TOK appreciate you taking the time to review the files I sent and fix up my mistakes. The colours can be a bit confusing across apps and Bricklink and it takes a seasoned pro to find those. Hope this helps some folks.
  47. Alright everybody, after some last edits, fatboycarney has perfected the file for uploading a wanted list. You can download the txt file here. If you can
  48. Great job, TOK! I'm just trying to check the parts on BrickLink, but already stumbled on my first hurdle: I don't see any 2x4 bright red/blue bricks listed as an official LEGO color. Is that referring to red/blue respectively? Also, have never heard of "medium stone grey", is that what we know as "light bluish grey" nowadays? I checked thru the whole list again and there are also other colors that I've never seen before in BrickLink. I apologize if I sound very noobish (first time trying to BL something!), but your help is appreciated. Cheers.
  49. Haha, I guess if I was a more patient person, I could have waited until that review came up. ....Unfortunately I'm not exactly good at 'just waiting'. Ah, it was a nice challenge anyway and majority of the build is there with a few odd exceptions of differently colored bricks and some bits of detail. This fix shouldn't take too long, "knock on wood". ^_^
