If you are ordering from S@H on a regular basis you could be doing it wrong anyway. Getting banned from S@H should have zero influence on whether or not to get out of the game.5 points

So yesterday I was able to score a maersk train and an Emerald Night both need new stickers if I want them built in original way also maybe a few parts missing, but he threw in a huge tub that had all kinds of lego in it jets, police station pieces, fire station, city transportation set the one that had street car, also old city coner set lots and lots of legos. I'm second guessing the purchase though cuz I have no idea how am gona sort through all this or what to do with it. Good deal for 200 dollars pictures to follow3 points

I still don't understand why counting cards would be illegal? If the casinos don't like how players have figured out their game, then they should switch to another game.3 points

One exception...they WILL allow you to order 99 vampire hearses in one shot as long as they are on clearance for $9 each. They will not include a one way ticket to Bansville, USA for that.2 points

You definitely have part of 8404 due to the blue/white subway part. Looks like an Octan truck trailer, and also Directv.2 points

And that is exactly why you were banned. 13 seperate orders within 10 days is really suspicious. I doubt they would unban you. Your purchase record makes it much too obvious that you are a reseller. Use some strategies, like spacing out your purchases, and buying from actual LEGO stores, or other retailers. Often times, you can get better deals from other sources. Trust me, getting banned is not the end of Lego investing. I've bought more from Target and Amazon simply because their prices are better, and they don't ban you. They do enforce purchase limits, but other than that, after the time-period is over, you can buy as many as you need.2 points

As per tradition since 2005, Lego holds an annual special event known as the Lego Inside Tour and at the end of these if you were one of the lucky few to attend then an exclusive set would be given as a gift commemorating the tour. Here is this year's Inside Tour exclusive. Also, The New Elementary has a review up for your curious perusal. via The Brick Fan1 point

A couple weeks have past closing the recruitment window in the hallowed halls of heroic vigilance and the subterfuge station for tyrannical villainy. While sixteen brave units have taken arms for the powers of good, eighteen decided to join the den of malicious intent, but only one can become the next new member in each group. The choices of the top two enlistees are up to you. VOTING There are two separate categories, Ultra Agents and Super Villains. You have a limit of four points in each category and no more than two points can be given towards a single entry. The voting timeframe will run from June 21 to 28 of 2014. PRIZES Although I will not say what the prizes are and spoil the surprise. However, I can tell you that a certain friendly member boldly took a shot in the dark by offering up a couple tokens of imperial importance for a certain empirical figure in the known galaxy to the winners of this little contest. I scored a used/ like new tantive iv for $115 shipped on eBay that was only missing the box and it even came with a nice bonus of 9 extra rebel fleet troopers! So it definitely sweetened the deal1 point

Weigh the sets and check against the weight number on BP price guide, if you see any signs of tampering. You'll need a good electronic scale, but you should already have one for the lego business.1 point

So it's better to sneak around and resort to something like that? Maybe it is, but I hate to think of me being that kind of person, that is trying to manipulate the system by being deceitful. Its too bad if one has to deal with that. Im not sure if it would be worth it to me for the inconvenience and the deceitfulness.1 point

I say if anyone disagrees with TLG policies or business practices they should just boycott them totally.1 point
-
It is time TLG rethinks its US pricing policy. The prices and discounts you get are borderline ridiculous compared with what a European has to pay. Take the SSD for example: the EU 399 EURO price tag equals 660$. When I see the comments that the SSD jumps to 500$ and should do well EOL, I wonder how valid this reasoning will be in Europe. Sets are just way more expensive and sell at a slower rate - grow less. I understand that TLG wanted to get back market share in the US, but it seems they have it now, and should start thing on re-using the big mac index, treating the regions more equitable. That's maybe a strange way to explain why SSD is out in the US, but plenty of time left in Europe regards1 point

i called Lego back to discuss it with them. I am a newbie VIP (new to Legos also grandkids got me interested a few weeks ago) and explained that I am not a reseller. They said so far I was only "blocked", not banned as of yet. There is a review process. The customer service person told me not to stress out about it. I am thinking most likely I will be banned, but if I do, I will be really ticked off and may very well return everything I have purchased. While I can see investing is worthwhile, there is a TON of work involved for little return per hour. So I may be out a few hundred bucks, but call it a learning experience. At the very least I am annoyed at Lego, because they really are not protecting anyone by limiting sales. Unless there is a shortage of plastic I do not see why they are concerned if they sell 1000 sets or a million sets. It really doesn't hurt anyone that I can see. Basic economics would show that the more are sold, the more are available after retirement so prices will be cheaper to the public, thus serving them. If no one stocked up on sets, then there would be none available for the future and prices would skyrocket. That would only benefit the lucky ones. Better than pick on us , they should pick on true retailers that withhold inventory because of rumors of retirement, etc. or jack up prices before retirement (i.e.. Target) Maybe I will cool off in a few days, especially if I get a favorable ruling from Lego. IF BANNED, my investing days are done, no matter how good the return, because I just don't believe in the philosophy of limiting sales of less than 5. Its not like I ordered 100. The only reason I ordered so heavily in the last 10 days, was because of my enthusiasm. I easily could have spread it out had I known better.1 point

Yeah, I want this. Give me the pets list, and give me the instructions. I'll Bricklink this. It would look great as a small train in a smaller Christmas Village.1 point

Try to bundle it with the Green Grocer in the background for a further discount. EDIT: In the second picture, there appears to be a Fire Brigade - triple bundle...1 point

One of the points in my "demand" thinking. Got to ask yourself, why the DS has a shelf life of 6 years?...........its demand driven. If the sales # are not there, they would have pulled it. Therefore, when the DS is gone........future demand will still be there. And yes, I am afraid of a nice remake too. This is why I am not going to stock pile it (30+ sets) I totally agree with you. As a AFOL, I would also pick the SSD. But as an Investor, I have to look at the entire "demand" variable. I'm not saying the DS will out perform the SSD (they both will do well), I just think the DS is a better investment. Higher demand = Liquidity.1 point

Since it's on the website, I guess it's nation-wide. It isn't the greatest deal in the world, but at the store I went to in downtown Toronto (First Canadian Place), they still had a bunch of Simpsons mini-figure packs left. I guess that would work, if people are looking for them. *Offer valid in-store June 201 point

A simple fix depending on how detailed you wish to go with this idea. Get four of the Ringwraith horses, swap out each of the heads on the Ringwraiths with different ones, and you have The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse! Mwahaha! Death should be an evil Ninjago skull, famine the Mouth of Sauron, pestilance can either be the toxic guy from the original Agents or the upcoming Ultra Agents, and War is the Evil Knight or maybe Lord Garmadon or even a Stone Army one. Or go in whatever way you want. It's your display after all. :good:1 point

I have my share of 10188s and might pick up a couple of more. If I could buy 100 SSDs or 10188s, I would buy 60 SSDs and 40 10188s if that makes any sense. Sent from my iPad using Brickpicker1 point

Finally picked up my imperial flagship 10210 (assuming seller ships ok). It was about 1 year ago that I became active on these forums and said "that set will be mine one day". Waiting 1 year probably cost me $50-$100 in price. Word to the wise, if there are any retired exclusives out there that you "must have" best to pull the trigger on a decent price rather than wait! ;-)1 point

If you don't want to watch the whole thing, or don't have the time, I watched it all the way through, and here are a few highlights, IMO. 11:18, there is a LEGO Cathedral is amazing! So intricately designed, and accurate! The stained glass is especially impressive. 20:47, for any of you Castle lovers, there is a super impressive diorama, with a farming village, city wall, fair, palace, castle, and a pier. 23:31, an huge, and highly detailed mosaic of a dragon attacking a castle. 24:40, a large mansion on a cliff. Even the rock formations at the base are stunning. 29:36, a modular city, if any of you would like a reference of how it could possibly look. 33:09, small scale scenes for every CMS minifigure. 33:59, for you Unikitty lovers, 4 different models of Unikitty. 43:07, the Villa I believe Ranion was talking about. 43:44, a huge version of Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!! 46:12, a build of Cair Paravel, in the Chronicles of Narnia. 48:50, impressive Technic vehicle builds. 52:52, a Technic Lamborghini Aventador 56:38, huge display of several islands in the Odyssey. Continues at 59:20 1:06:13, German U-Boat 1:08:10, an really nice Battle of Kashyyyk MOC. 1:10:35, a model of a battle scene from the movie 300 1:13:34, impressive models of a few sports stadiums1 point

I do have a favorite, but first here are some pictures i dug up from my instagram. These are most of the close runner ups. I'm a huge fan of the robber who was in the lego city video game. I also love the cops from Lego City especially Chase himself. All different variations of firefighters have always been awesome. The ones in the pic below are just some of my favorite fire fighters. It was quite an ordeal to find the original yoda minifig, but I love him so much more than the newer clone wars yoda. I love these Mexicans! Some people might consider a moustached man with a poncho, maracas, and a sombrero somewhat stereotypical.. I see a celebration of a great culture. The luchador is awesome as well! I wish I had a better picture of my lumberjack dude with his awesome ax. The axe he came with isn't one of the plain black one, it actually has a red and silver axe head. Very cool. But right here he's riding his bike past the residence of another one of my favorites: the bagpiper. I'm a huge fan of all of the guy in an animal suit figs. My favorite is probably the gorilla, but the chicken is great as well, and of course the panda. I've been a tmnt fan my whole life.. And i was blown away by how friggin cool these minifigs ended up being. Not a big fan of any of the sets, but I realize that's probably because I'm not a kid. The minifigs, though, are outstanding. I'm a huge super hero fan. I love Spidey and Daredevil the most, but when it comes to Lego, Cap is the best. I could probably create a whole new collection of all the awesome indigenous people lego has put out. The mohawk indian, the tiki man, etc. all awesome. But my favorite minifig is no doubt the clockwork robot. I don't see that changing any time soon either. He's just awesome.1 point
