Got the Gamer4life777 message today. Trying to get a Modular for $50. I told her I felt her pain because my 6 year old son was dying from Leukemia and I needed to sell off my LEGO collection to pay the medial bills and avoid bankruptcy and foreclosure. Dirtbag.4 points

The stories are fabulous. However, I do want to crawl under the dining room table into the fetal position after reading 50% of the posts. I'm so happy I created this thread to spread the moron love that we deal with.2 points

This thread is for confirmed "Retired Product" status updates as per Lego.com official website. I decided to create this thread as somewhere to keep track of confirmed EOL dates as per Lego "Retired Product" tags. Leaving the other thread for rumors and speculation (I have been through all 75 pages and pulled any confirmed retirement dates in to here). The "Retired Product" status can be found on Lego.com by searching for "Retired Product", this link should take you there: http://search-en.lego.com/?q=Retired+Product&cc=US Yes a "Retired Product" tag does not mean the set cannot be found at other retailers, but it is an official confirmation that the set is EOL (End of Line) at Lego and that future production and sales have been halted (there may be some exceptions to this and we can never say Lego will never ever bring them back). I'd like to keep this list updated and populated with any changes, so please post them (for the US based Lego Shop at Home only please). Because the Lego.com site does not have a date when a set is retired I have used the latest stock availability date as recorded at Brickset.com. On the Lego site many sets get a "Sold Out" tag and/or a "retiring soon" tag, then at some arbitrary time they get a "Retired Product" tag. If we think about it, the actual date of retirement is the date it goes "out of stock" for the last time. As such I'd like to start capturing set's "Sold out" status dates as well, but that can be a phase 2 project. So for now if you spot a new "Retired Product" post it below. This is a table of the most recent few months. Attached at the bottom is a full Excel spreadsheet with all the sets I could get from Lego.com. I hope you find it useful or interesting. Well a lot has been going on in the past 24 hours. Certain things are still a mess and I still have a bit of clean up to do. I don't believe that the site has propagated around the world yet, so there are probably a bunch of users that are not able to see the site yet. Hopefully by tomorrow, that will be done and everyone will be back on. Even though things aren't the way I want them, this becomes a good time for me to start making changes that were planned in the future. Here are a few updates: eBay/Price Guide Data: Well I finally learned that the main eBay site and all of it's global sites did a bunch of category changes and did not notify it's third party companies like Terapeak. We are not the only ones that are waiting on data. I was told it is of course a top priority and I will let you know when I actually get it. Brickpoints: Ed and I have decided that we will be discontinuing the Brickpoints program. Brick Classifieds will not rely on Brickpoints. For those of you that are over 5,000 points, we will be in touch to give options and claim some set, gift card or something you will appreciate for all your hard work. Wordpress: I officially hate Wordpress Wordpress has been hosting our blog articles, but it has been a nightmare with the logins and just an extra added server and cost. Blogs will be converted to a simple CMS that I have created and content will created by a group of editors. Moving forward, we will be working on focused content. Brick Classifieds: I need to settle this server stuff first, but I think there may be a shot that a few may get access at the end of the week or next weekend. Site Update: For a while I have been working on a site update that will focus more on what people come here to see and getting it ready for the classifieds. We know most are interested in The forum, Daily Deals, other discounts, classifieds, Brickfolio, etc. It will be more simple, easier to view on mobile devices and by removing some of the extra stuff it should be a more enjoyable experiences. Now will this server blowup, you might start to see some of these updates creep their way in sooner rather than later. We appreciate everyones patience.1 point

I remember seeing the digital creation by BobDeQuatre months ago and thought that was impressive as heck but this.... this goes beyond anything conceivable as a MOC or work of art. Here is the backstory behind the character and design going into this. Eurobricks1 point

Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!! At TRU with the 20% off coupon. This one still had it at MSRP. Side note - I printed the scanned coupon from the daily deals thread, cashier didn't even flinch just scanned it and tossed it in the trash haha. This is for me to build. My birthday is coming up and I'm going to have my wife wrap it and give it to me. Can't wait to see the look on my son's face, haha.1 point

I am a little worried that this may have been an error (too good to be true?) but yesterday I ordered 4 cases of Simpsons minifigs for a total of $500. Seller has more of them up, if anyone else feels like tempting fate: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331227237845 Seller has one positive and one negative, the neg is from 6 months ago and the positive is for a case of Simpsons minifgs for $180, so I decided to risk it. Drop shipper? Did I screw up? They can't be drop shipping from Lego Shop because limit is 32.1 point

This site has all of the cardboard components of the Hero Quest expansions in pdf form. Download and print on heavy cardstock and you're good to go. You can still find the individual plastic monsters on ebay. This is what I did to get the Keller's Keep and Witch Lord expansions. http://www.yeoldeinn.com/ As for Xwing, I know I'd drop way more than that $100. I know myself too well, I'm a completionist. Have you seen these yet?1 point

I've had this guy messaging me and offering me the 50% of my price on stone minifigs from the new xmen set. I had two sentinels and a x-jet. We went back and forth, him telling me to combine this and that but he had only $50 to spend. He then wanted two sentinels and cyclops and magneto. I told him no, I figured I'd educate him and tell him to go yo lego.com where he could buy the set for $50!!!! He responded back asking, "so does this mean your accepting my offer?" Wtf?1 point

I love HeroQuest. I had the base game and all of the expansions back in the day, and I ended up selling them to some kid to get money to buy more Magic cards... they call it cardboard crack for a reason. Those expansions are hard to find now, and the barbarian one goes for north of $300 when one pops up on ebay. I think I bought it at Meijer for $15, and who knows what I sold it for I ended up finding a really nice near mint copy of the base game at Goodwill so at least I have that back. Can't wait until the kids are older, I think it's a perfect game for young kids. And adults too lol. I thought about getting into Xwing. A lot of my buddies like it and it looks fun, but I don't know if I want to get myself into another money pit. It's one of htose games where they keep coming out with expansion after expansion.1 point

Carcassonne - Awesome game. Even my 3 year old plays with us, when we are playing just for the mapmaking fun of it. Maybe he will be a cartographer when he is older. I bought Dominion a few years ago, but my 8 year old was a bit too young for playing it, so we packed it up and started with the Carcasonne adventure. I think we have 3 different add-ons, and they are all super fun and interesting to play. I taught a chess class a few years ago, and I even sank a few grand into some ebony pieces, which I really like. I put them in my safe, just so my young ones don't mess with them. Right now, my family is a Chutes and Ladders, and Hungry Hungry Hippos family, too.1 point

I came across this review for 8093 Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter to which I will post an image here. This list is correct. 8093 - Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter: 1 tiny bag 1 small perforated bag 1 medium bag 1 large bag 1 instruction booklet 1 sticker sheet TOTAL = 4 bags - unnumbered1 point

This thread is to create a list of sealed plastic bags contained in each Lego set. In general I have taken this to mean the total number of sealed and numbered or un-numbered main bags. i.e. smaller bags within a main bag are not counted, just the main bags. The bag containing the instructions and/or stickers should also not be included. Loose parts like baseplates etc are also not included. Basically if it's a Lego piece or part and is wrapped in a plastic bag it is counted as a bag for the purposes of this count. This thread contains posts from people with further detail such as loose parts, instructions, bag numbering, etc. Please search for the set # within this thread using the forum search function if you are seeking a detailed breakdown of set contents. Here is the list in set # order so far. All info gathered from prior Brickpicker forum threads and from the Brickset thread posted by gorbasho below. More info can also be found in this thread linking to a video review site http://community.brickpicker.com/topic/9583-need-to-know-how-many-bags-are-in-a-specific-set/?hl=evantube (I haven't gone through any vids but if you do watch one please post the bag count below). Feel free to post any info you have below and I'll incorporate into the list.1 point

Send them a note back stating: I too have been in and out of the hospital and have to sell my childs LEGO collection to pay the bills. This is why I have to charge the prices I do. I can't express what a kindness you would be doing for my family if you just paid the asking price. My family would be ecstatic if I could pay off the bills before I die. scammer4life6661 point

I honestly do not see anything else down the road for The Simpsons in Lego. Fox and Lego have their current mutual arrangement that will expire eventually and the episode has already been aired. What else is there that can be done really? The people behind the show admitted to using every brick joke conceivable (by them) in the episode and although it would be fun to do another, they're just not up for it again. Far as sets go, there isn't a locale aside from the house that is both memorable and 'safe' by Lego standards. I admit seeing a show like The Simpsons as a Lego toy still seems weird with all things considered so that barrier has been broken or at least bent rather far but even so, I can't fathom another set or second series of collectable minifigures being released. Still, stranger things have happened.1 point
