Don't be an idiot, just because you don't like me or Ed and myself, no need to always post negative comments. I know there are a lot of people that deal with Bricklink. It is news. If you don't like it, don't read it.15 points

Jeff is friendly with Eric and is only letting people know of the situation. It is news and Eric certainly didn't come across as disgruntled. Disappointed maybe. Can you blame the guy? He kept that site running for years. On a personal level, what's with the hostility? I appreciate constructive criticism, but your tone of late is not appreciated. If you hate the site and what we do and promote, please move on to another LEGO site. Thanks. Sent from my iPad using Brickpicker4 points

For those ordering from 2nd and Charles, I sent a message to the seller this morning asking why the tracking number did not work. Anyway, here is the trick: it's not USPS, it's UPS. I did some search and here is where you go to track your packages: http://www.ups-mi.net/packageid/ Mine did come up. Hope this help you. =D Although the weight does not look right... we'll see...3 points

Apology accepted. I am a big fan of the old Bricklink. It was ugly, but it worked. Jeff had a relationship with Eric(as programmers usually do) and he helped Jeff numerous times. It was unfortunate that the previous owners of the site(family of Dan Jezek) were not very open to working with other websites, like us or even Brickset. Jeff reached out to this new "community relations" person, but did not get a response. Not even a "F-OFF!" I hope that their communications with members, customers and potential business partners improves, because so far, it has been subpar from the word on the street. The new Bricklink might have a flashier interface, but if the community and communication sucks, it will fail. Jeff and I wish Eric well...3 points

The R2-D2 has been out 2 years this month,Like I said before if the set is going to retire its usually at the end of the year, so the set is a good seller and if it is retiring it will be at the end of the year, so look I have 23 going for 30 or so but I see no reason to Panic, and I would rather go to the Lego store and pay the extra $8.00 or so tax then to order them from Amazon or Walmart as the chances are high that the boxes will be damaged. Do picking up a Droid once a month or so is a good idea as you want to have this set as a money maker down the road. Ed2 points

It is business, I could not agree more. Bottom line is if they can deliver, the increase in fees is justifiable. Take a look at eBay. All of the b*tchings and moanings on every fees increase and yet eBay brings the foot traffics so the sellers adapt to the increased fees. As long as the new BL can justify the new fees, they should be fine. To me, this time of uncertainty is the best time to introduce new competitions. So, if one of the Macks' goals is to compete as a LEGO selling platform, this seems to be a prime time to roll out the feature Jeff has been working on.2 points

Yes, Emazers would agree on buying GE,SSD,Volkswagen Campers,Tower Bridges, all the stuff that should be done sooner than later. But usually lego Retires sets at the end of the year not in the middle of the year, so my guess is that the GE,and even the SSD will be around for a few more months, as for the R2-D2 as just being only 2 years old I would think it has more time, but its anybody's guess. so buying sets that are coming out this month or so for investment is a big mistake. You have plenty of time for those sets. From now til the end of the year I am buying these sets. 1-SSD 2-GE 3-Tower Bridges 4-10220 Camper 5-R2-D2 6-Pet Shops 7-Town halls 8-Even more DS 9-And a Batman Ayslum & Tower of Othanic here and there.2 points

Looks like Futureshop.ca has many sets at %20 off. Not amazing, but a few sets of note: Unexpected Gathering $67 MF $143 Power Armor Lex - $19 And many of the usual sets you can find at %20 off every other week. Good week for me to save my money. My recent SSD/GE purchases are killin me! Depends what's in there but to sort into sets to sell will take forever and ever. If you have the time, potentially a lot of money to be had, but again depends on the sets. Generally goes for1 point

Great garage sale find today. 8404 Public Transport 4439 Heavy Duty Helicoptor 3182 Airport $50. Complete with instructions, boxes, excellent condition. Left some Ninjago sets and 7744 Police HQ as I already have one for our collection. Will sell 3182 since we have it but the other two will go with the City setup in the basement. Nothing like getting paid to buy Lego.1 point

I'm a total box snob to the point that I'll take a risk on a seller with way less feedback. I also pay more for a good box - anywhere from 10% on smaller sets to 5% on larger (hundreds of $) sets. Sent from my iPod touch using Brickpicker1 point

Whichever seller has better feedback ?. If the buyer plans on opening, they don't care about the box. But to each their own.1 point

Box condition is far from irrelevant........take two identical listings the only difference being box condition, which one are you gonna buy?1 point

I obviously do not know Eric from Adam or Steve, but I have worked in the software industry for a while. When you roll out a brand new system to replace the old one, sometime it is easier to utilize brand new team with fresh ideas to do the work. This is because the developers of the old system have developed such attachement to the legacy system they often refuse to see any new ways to do things that are completely different than what they have now. Of course this is just an observation and all we have is the story from one side, but a lot can be speculated given how outdated current BL in terms of looks and functionality. ETA: given the responds from the new BL team (posted as I wrote this post), I stand by my post1 point

The most important thing about Bricklink fee structure that they absolutely MUST NOT change is that they go down the route of insertion fees or even limiting invetories or inventories that stop being listed and have to be relisted.... As long as Bricklink keeps its core its fine. And by core for me the most important thing is that I can go there list an item for sale, leave it there for 6 months, then it sells and when it does I pay X% of the final value of the item(s) fee to BL..... As soon as they change anything in that area (except for X) i am saying good bye. Oh and X should not be more than 50% of Ebay fees preferably, after selling, if you have no store or Best seller rating.......... For the rest I could not care less really...1 point

The wanted feature (you'll see a tab on the main screen). Like everything else, it was designed using cave paintings as schematics, but it does work quite well once you get used to it.1 point

Actually my Grand Carousel bricklinking project was done weeks ago and I ended up using projector screen fabric for the canopies. I made a custom projector screen for my home a few years back and I had some spare, so I just cut out 8 canopies and the result is great. I got the projector screen fabric from this place and the price is very reasonable. http://www.carlofet.com. I didn't do any sound brick as it is super expensive. I will post some pictures later today.1 point

Thanks for posting this quite important piece of news. BrickLink is a vital piece of the puzzle for myself and, I am sure, many others on this site. I have become wary of the change of ownership as the promised improvements have not appeared while some "enhancements" to the site have been announced. My favorite part of BrickLink is that it still feels more like a community than an e-commerce site--sort of like eBay 15 years ago. If that element is lost with the new ownership no amount of interface updating will be able to make up for it.1 point

I found a lone A-Wing Fighter stuck somewhere in the clearance aisle recently for that much as well. Also a handful of Forest Ambush sets a whole whopping $0.99 off making them exactly $11. (Oh be still my beating heart. Ha.) I actually wouldn't mind grabbing them all if they were closer to $7 each just for the characters. Anyway, my Walmart tends to be lackluster in its discounts but every now and again, there is what I would consider a mistake in the system thinking about their idea of a typical sale. Ah well, I certainly won't complain. I'm just glad to find anything honestly.1 point

Disney Princess Ariel's Amazing Treasures Merida's Highland Games Rapunzel's Trip to the Market x 2 - free with above sets (Target) The Hobbit Dol Guldur Ambush - $11.00 x 3 (Walmart) Legends of Chima CHI Waterfall - $7 (Walmart) Whirling Vines - $7 (Walmart) Considering Walmart is the only place around me to even carry two of the current Hobbit sets, I was surprised to find those Dol Guldur Ambushes on sale at all unadvertised in any way. I suppose it will help make up for missing the big one of Dol Guldur Battle. Anywho, I picked up a couple more Disney Princess sets just to take advantage once more of the free polybag deal they have going on still which I am pretty sure it will end in a couple of days. The sets themselves weren't on sale but who am I to turn down a freebie? Those Chima Speedorz continue to linger therefore I have been picking up a couple every once in a while ....so that maybe I won't see them on my next visit. :P1 point

Used but complete R2D2 for $130 shipped. I have several sealed, but have wanted to build one. Now I can do that, and then resell at a later date once retired. Looking forward to it. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker1 point

Not saying your data was incorrect, but that statement was based on the assumption that the buyers who bought those sets used the affiliate links. Perhaps there were more people who did not use the affiliate links when declaring that they did. Which brings us back to:1 point

Seapotato would be an 'expert' on this topic Personally I've only shipped a few minifigs/polybags like TC 14's. I use the small bubble/flexible envelopes looking things...or I guess it's a bag. If it's light enough they will just charge you regular letter. Once I wanted it insured but would turn into a parcel and delivery is like +$8 vs $2 or whatever a normal letter costs. Not worth it. 'Small' net cash returns on regular minifigs so not worth paying extra as a parcel with insurance...take my chances with regular letter. If the minifig/polybag is worth +$60 than I might have it shipped as parcel with included insurance (IMHO). Yeah, I have no idea how some sellers can charge so little for minifigs with free shipping included.1 point

No I'd get them other ways by either trading, finding in store by smooshing, or buying outright.1 point

If you've never read Quac's posts about Technic sets and their ROI, you might want to. http://blog.brickpicker.com/lego-technic-investments-on-the-fast-track-or-in-the-shop-part-1/ The audience for Technic as a whole seems to be smaller, but I'd say plenty of AFOLs with some cash like the theme.1 point

Here is an opportunity for many of you fence sitters to get in the game and buy this set. If you want one...or ten...buy them now. Don't worry about the Mixer or the Parisian Restaurant...Buy the Grand Emporium. emazers would agree with me.1 point

I have created a spreadsheet for the tournament. Full draw with all games that you can fill out scores etc either as they happen or enter your own predictions to see how the teams flow through to the knockout stages. There is also a second sheet that has basic printout sheets that can be useful if you want to create an office sweep or something. Enjoy. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ttt4xha95ge21y2/FIFA%20World%20Cup%202014.xlsm P.S Kickoff times are in NZ time, which is +15 hours on the local Brazil kickoff time. NZT is also +19 hours on Pacific US time if you want to do a quick conversion of that column.1 point

Thanks for the comparison shot. There really is some seriously messed up proportions going on here. The buildings are way too small to be included anywhere on a modular street.1 point

There are things in life to have anxiety about. Worrying about a couple of old LEGO sets losing a few dollars in value is not one of them. I doubt these sets will ever lose enough in value be worth less than what I originally paid for them. I don't recommend members to follow my method of never selling sets. To maximize profits, many of my sets should have been sold a long time ago. Remakes are new opportunities. STAR WARS remakes are welcome. Many older sets that were poorly done originally, are being remade into better sets. I have one old Jabba's Palace, but I have about 10 of the new ones. Bring them on.... The creator of the set released the plans to build the station house. I was showing my son the set and he said he didn't "get it", which is understandable since he doesn't have any experience with the Ghostbusters. I have the movies, but I questioned whether he might be a little too young for them. I did find season 1 of the cartoon on Amazon for $5, so we'll probably start on those.1 point

I have done a lot of bricklinking in the past few months. My experience is that if you don't already have a lot of existing pieces to begin the project with, then it may be a lot easier (and possibly cheaper) to just hunt for a used set on ebay, especially most used sets include original user manual and a box which bricklinking does not. So the resale value holds better. For me it is cheaper to do bricklinking especially on larger set (1600+ pieces), because I already have tons of existing pieces to begin the project with. Most of the sets I have done with bricklinking are for personal hobby/collection anyway, so I don't really care about the user manual/box. Take Eiffel Tower as an example, I don't have most of the dark bluish gray pieces, especially the 1 x 4 fences. So if I ever want a Eiffel Tower, I'd just get it from ebay for sure. Currently I am working on Grand Carousel 10196, the pieces I acquired from Bricklink vendors so far cost around $150 (since I have most existing pieces already). I am still debating whether I should spend the extra $250 on those 8 stupid paper canopies, or I should just have my wife to custom make for me with fabrics. I am sure my wife will happily do it for me if that saves us $250 .1 point
