Good morning! As some may know, I am in the process of thinking about moving and have began boxing up my sets individually (know as the emazers method, thanks Ed). The thought is that although they will take up more space for storage, if I box them up properly now they will be able to handle the stress of moving. In addition, when it is time to sell I only have to post the listing one ebay (etc) and if/when the item sells I grab it off the shelf slap a postage label on it and drop it off. All of my sets have been photographed, packaged carefully in new Staples boxes using kraft paper as packing material, weighed and labeled with set number-quantity and weight. I am fortunate that I have a friend with way more house than he needs (plus no pets or kids) and he has agreed to let me store some of my inventory there so we can get the house ready to sell. My question is, does anyone see any problem with storing my sets as shown in the following pictures? Please note that the boxes in these pictures are all 24 x 16 x 4, and have an edge crush rating of 65lbs. This mound is exactly 50 of this size box. I figured that it would be best to stand them on end like this for strength. Please let me know your thoughts comments. Thanks in advance!

It is an image of a LEGO model that could be built with Basic set #140 from the late 60's, maybe 1968 or 1969. Blue bricks for most of the body with white roof and accents, and red wheels. It was motorized.

Was just checking Sears.ca today to see if they had their usual %20 off and whatnot, and noticed they had some "New Arrivals". Well these new arrivals are in fact older sets. Forbidden Forest is one of them, and while it says "in stock"; once you order it says "backordered will ship May 22nd", so i don't have too much hope for the order being filled. Some of the other items seem be shipping May 1st. Anyways the other sets really aren't anything to get excited about, but figured i'd share to see if anyone else has any luck getting anything fulfilled. In what is touted as a new eBay feature, It seems that you can now automatically relist a BIN for free up to 3 times. If this applies after the $.30 comes into effect then it minimizes the impact.

You can remove the ability for these misunderstandings/shenanigans (they could be either) by setting up Immediate Payment Required (IPR) on all of your fixed price listings. I set this up a few months before the Christmas season a few years ago, because at Christmas, like most sellers, I was getting a higher percentage of non-payers and losing out on the chance to sell my item to other Christmas shoppers, and it worked so well I have never looked back. For the present issues, tell the buyers you cannot issue invoices for GSP transactions and recommend that either they call eBay so that eBay can help them with their account issue, or you will be glad to file a mutual cancellation if they wish. Once you have them on record as asking for the cancellation, it won't count against your defect rating to grant it. The $60 shipping buyer probably didn't use the cart, but purchased each item separately - you would then be required to ship each item separately to KY. If he requests a cancellation, you can cancel, put everything in one listing, and let him buy the one listing -- that will give him one GSP shipping charge which will be far less than $60.

We bought this when the store opened May 3rd, and now still building it with my 6 yr-old son. We're loving it. As a dad, I felt a little nuts to be spending $300 + tax on a non-birthday, non-Xmas toy. But I had to admit it was probably as much for me as it was for him. It's making for some great father/son time. Also, I figured once he grows out of it, we can probaly sell it used for $200, right? (I'm saving the box, all packaging, etc). About half way through, the Technics build in the front end that makes a chain hoist and much of the front structure gets a little tedious, but other than that it has been great. I have to agree with Stevenplays. It's a good price for a "play set", and will likely sell far more than an accurate scale "adult" model. I've never seen the prior version in person, but based on photos, the playability of the new one looks far better. My kid won't quit playing with it, and we're only halfway through the build. Is anyone else building this now? You know that little gear sticking out of the top that operates the "draw bridge" front plate / ramp? Mine is a little "tight" to operate. Should I grease it... or just try to loosen up the build?

Exactly! If you can`t afford to invest in any commodity, don`t do it. If you end up neck deep in debt, you`ll wish you hadn`t. Carry any outstanding balance is pointless. I can`t think of any scenario where doing so would be superior to not. Only invest what you can in anything. Making money should come second to shelter, heat, food, etc. Sounds obvious but it amazes how many people still dive into things with the pretence that doing so will make them rich/better off. In the end they end up far worse more often than not. Crazy.

THIS!!! Never ever carry a balance on a credit card. Pay it off every single month. If you can't afford to pay it off, then don't buy the item. Credit card debt will destroy your investments and your finances.

Great setup. My only concern would be making sure that you keep track of the pictures that go with each set. If one of your boxes had a scuff mark or dinged corner and you needed to make sure you used those particular pictures with the set that had already been boxed up when you sold it. Obviously you could not go back and verify you had the right pictures without opening the box of course. But if you have this all worked out and the space to store them like this long term then this seems like the perfect way to do it. Make sure to back up all your files and pictures so you don't loose them in a computer crash.

Love the figures in this set, but not a fan of the build. The TRU's in my area are still packed with them, waiting for a pretty deep clearance to get one for myself if at all.

The TRUs around me still have them in decent numbers, and I don't think they have sold very well overall. I could be wrong. I'm interested in one for myself and plan on just waiting for another sale before I buy it. They do seem to be an older set though. If you are really worried about missing out, buy one and just hold onto it. If a sale comes along and you can get another, then your good. If not at least you have one for yourself. I just have the feeling they will get cheaper still.

That`s a great idea for sure! You don`t have to worry about scuff marks or damage to the set themselves if you have the extra layer. I`ve always liked this method, invest the time to package them properly now, and you don`t have to worry later on down the road. Really is a win when it comes to time, effort, and efficiency. Nice of your friend to give you the space as well.

Guys, just an fyi before you go and sell off your stock of these. Folks paying the big bucks for this set dont care about wolverine and magneto, they want deadpool. the only reason this set was worth investing in was because of deadpool alone, and nothing else. deadpool alone is selling for $30 right now... trust me, I sell several sets a week at $75 and they ONLY care about deadpool.. they ask.. 'this is the set with deadpool right?' so unless Deadpool is in a new set, this set is $200 come 2015, $100 minimum 2014 x-mas. Deadpool has a huge cult following and popular culture icon appeal, I mean they sell Deadpool brand clothes at hot topic, and kids think its cool.. honestly Magneto and Wolverine are the last thing driving this price up.

i ordered a battle of naboo last week, got it shipped to store and picked it up yesterday, and somehow the $10 off sears.ca coupon also applied even though my purchase wasn't more than $50. managed to get this for $24.99 + shipping to store + taxes. the box was also in surprisingly good condition, except for the huge shipping label slapped on the front. btw: i was never able to check my order status online, and also they didn't e-mail me when it shipped, i had to call the store and ask them if it arrived. yay sears.

I was only able to get it for that price since it was an off eBay deal, the buyer wasn't certain it was complete (it was), and the person only lived 100 miles away. Too bad he refused to mail the box but it was pretty messed up anyway, The key elements to watch out for our the little dark gray fences. All 254 of them. I believe this is an original printing press / stamp used for LEGO advertisements or something? From my research i would say it dates back to 1950s or 1960s because the format of the "O" in the word "LEGO" changed to the more modern style after this time. It is metal on wood and measures approximately 4" x 3.5" Any information regarding this item would be great! Thanks.

I had my SSD shipped to the store (walmart) for pick up. The box looked like it was rained on and the seals were loose. I just asked for a refund. Next time I guess I'll pony up and buy large exclusives by the case.

So I called eBay for a dumb buyer issue, and brought up the new free listing policy and shared my honest feedback while I was on the call. The customer service person documented my feedback and said she would be forwarding to management. She also encouraged me to write to eBay directly, using a feedback link on their site. In addition, she also mentioned they have been getting a lot of negative feedback since yesterday, and the more people call in and write, the greater the likelihood of any modifications to the upcoming policy change, maybe a middle ground resolution. I was just stating my opinion as a matter of course. I didn't even *demand* a change and I was calm, professional, and collegial the entire time. Lol... You are on to me... In all seriousness, I was that guy when I joined in the site. You get caught up in the frenzy and next thing you know you have a huge CC bill on your hands. Sets retire all the time and you can't buy everything , so just stick to you plan and budget as much as you can ( I know , I know it is not easy here ).

Because every time I sell a tc-4 it is either lost in the mail or people do not pay. It also infected other sets I sold and people do not pay. So if you have 50 of those, poor you!

eBay wants to push those kind of items off the site. A large part of the new Cassini search engine is burying the listings of items that are stagnant, and further burying a seller's complete line of offerings if his/her overall listing and selling habits miss certain thresholds, including old, slow-moving inventory. eBay wants their site to be full of fresh, competitively priced offerings from sellers who aren't dumbos. I am sure you have the non-dumbo part covered and you may be competitive in price, but they don't like your oldy moldies and if they can encourage you to get rid of them by taking away the freebies, they will. (As the proud owner of a large number of oldy moldy listings myself, I do understand and sympathize with why you were relisting them -- eventually, most of them sell, but it can be a long eventually -- but that is a business model that eBay is actively discouraging through the new search engine and now through targeting specific categories that probably have a high number of oldies and/or are so saturated eBay's pleased to lose some of us from them.)

I have seen what these are selling for (individual and as a set) and I'm not impressed. At 4-5$ per pack or 99-119$ per set, it seems silly to even bother, unless you can get them cheap. I have 2 complete sets that I am going to hold onto. The rest I may be returning. I don see where there is money to be made. That said I think they are awesome. The likeness to the characters they nailed.

I'd like to know your thoughts.

There are a few things that hurt sets when they are refreshed. Newer sets are available at retail for far cheaper prices and usually are more morden looking (e.g. maybe more SNOT, newer elements, diff colors). People want sets for minifigs and special things included (e.g. maxi-sized minifigs). When a set is refreshed, most people stop looking at the brick elements included in the older sets and focus on the minifigs. If those minifigs are also refreshed, prices will further decrease because the older set is now looked as regular elements with just minifigs. sellers begin unloading the original set but unlike the past, they are competing against other sellers doing the dame thing, Let's take the 2006 Batman 1 Batcave (7783) . This set is far larger than 6860. (It also contains the still exclusive Alfred minifig. Before 2012, 7783 was selling consistently for $350 used and $550-$600 new / sealed.). After 6860 as available for 6 months, 7783 prices fell too $225-$300 used while new sets hovered around $425 with rare instances of $500+. The sets bottomed out at $175 used and $425 new when Mr, Freeze was refreshed along with another Robin and Penguin. Prices have been slowly climbing again only due to 6860 being sold-out at times and the Alfred minifig. Additionally,, more 7783s were parted out than before so less are available for sale so supply vs. demand swing it's way again for a while but only after a deep depreciation. The Alfred minifig is still helping hold the value, This is just one example where a refreshed hurt the original's value big-time. If not for 6860, most used 7783 sets would be fetching at least $450 today even with the Robin and Penguin refreshes. A more drastic example would be what the 2010 Slave 1 did to the original's value. The older Jabba's Palace can now be had for a song and dance. Even the superior designed 6210 Sail Barge is selling for far less than 1 year ago (used sets couldn't be had for under $200 in late 2012. I still can

I've invested pretty heavily in the TLR train and think it will do well at 65 bucks a pop. It's not a hard number to beat after EOL. To me in the game of risk and reward I think the possibility of this set hitting 150-200 is worth the risk of maybe MAYBE having to break even on this set. I probably wouldn't have bought so many if I had to at 80-99, but at 65 I think it's better than good. Also, it's a train!!! If this train had generic mini figs and no license I don't think anyone would argue its merits. Box office receipts cannot be a reliable predictor of growth either. People liken this line to the failed POP run but both Cars and Toy Story were box office successes and the growth on their line is pretty poor. I betting pretty heavily that the awesomess of this train will elevate itself from the shortcomings of the film (which quite frankly I didn't think was so bad). But what do I know, it may still get.........derailed. Heh heh heh derailed.
