  1. Seems like everybody is wondering about the 6860 Batcave and Jabba's Palace, "well the Batcave is out for all of 2014" As for Jabba's Palace well production is over, but remember nobody know's how many cases are in warehouses in the US and overseas but Lego. So even as production is done only time will tell when they are sold out.So if you don't have any or not enough don't wait forever. I am sure alot of you including me wish the Batcave would be retiring. If I get anymore info on anything else I will Post,Thats all I can say about this. As I was told to keep this simple and brief. 2. Come on, that's what these forums are all about! Some dude I've never met before told me that the Batcave is retired. He works part time at the LEGO store so he knows everything there is to know regarding production and whatnot. I also know for a fact that there's only one right way to invest. If you aren't doing it this one particular way, then you're just sitting on dead money and I'm going to take every chance I get to tell you what an idiot you are. And taxes you say? Nobody in their right mind pays those. Customs and import fees? Those are for suckers. If you aren't price matching sold out clearance items from LEGO.com you may as well stop investing now. I think that about covers the facts. Again, these are not my opinions, these are plain and simple facts. Keep in mind that I've been doing this for 6 months so I know everything there is to know on the subject.

  4. Because stealing makes it right. Please do not listen to comments like this. Send the sets back. People who do this only cause retailers more problems which leads to more problems with returns, purchasing, etc. for good buyers.

  8. Greetings. Buying for your son is the best excuse/reason to be investing in Lego. My son is 3, and many of the sets I am buying now will either be for us to play with later or to sell so we can buy sets we want.

  11. There are 6 figures that come 2 per case so you actually got 5 of the 6 rares. There are 6 figures that come 4 to a case and 5 figures that come 6 to a case. Here is the case breakdown. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88428 Those rack displays have a different distribution though that I haven't found any info on.

  12. The target display is different but in the cases at tru, out of 60 packs there are 2 shakespeare,4 lincoln and 4 wyldstyle. All 3 of those are easy to smoosh for though. Abe has the hat and Shakespeare has the quill and the circular neck thing. For wyldstyle, you just look for the dress then see if she has a gun or fan. It's pretty easy to feel for the dress.

  15. I don't know if any of these have actually trickled into stores yet. They have been listed on the TRU website for the last couple weeks but haven't been put up for sale yet. I'm hoping they drop during one of these promos like the $15 off $50 going on this week. Here's the ones I really like: 76017 - Captain America carried the Avengers cycle set even though it had 2 of the lame movie aliens in it and his more classic costume here should be a big winner. Red Skull is his arch-nemesis and it also includes a pretty nifty vehicle and an army builder (Hydra soldier). I expect this one to be a solid investment set. 76018 - Hulk in purple pants is the main draw, but a classic Thor and 3 minifigures guaranteed to never be released again (Falcon, Taskmaster, and MODOK) put this one far over the top. The set is pretty bland, but 5 excellent minifigures will carry this one for a long, long time. 76010 - Scuba Batman and an alternate costume Penguin. 'Nuff said. The build looks pretty neat and the penguins are a plus. I'll keep an eye on the Catcycle Chase set since that one is now done and would expect this one to perform similarly.

  17. I am not usually a fan of being picky or sending stuff back for damaged boxes because I don't have a problem getting the same price for it. However, in a case like this, I would keep sending them back just because this is the only way some companies learn. Since everyone sent back pancaked small sets to TRU, I haven't gotten one in a shipping sleeve. Could be a coincidence, but maybe not

  19. Naw, what killed the Baseball Card Industry, because lets face it, it was always about Baseball and not "Sports" cards, was saturation + nickel and diming the customer right out of the hobby. It grew to the point of smothering the traditional steady line to complete with too many versions of the same product (Ultra, Stadium Club, Studio, etc.). I was the target age during the Baseball card craze/bubble and back then you could walk into any Basesball Card shop and purchase whatever current line of card pack you wanted because they were all in stock and plentiful; unlike LEGO today where you snooze you lose if the set even arrives at all in your local retailer. Add in the ever increasing cost, scammers - I'm looking at you Donruss wax paper iron guy - and charging the fan for autographs, which is ludicrous and what did they think would happen? Of course it failed. Parents got fed up with wasting money and collectors grew up or grew tired of the impossible chase. So far LEGO is much smarter, not to mention they are 1 of 1 in the game which allows them total control and continued viability provided they don't do something stupid. Many like to compare Mr. Gold to "chase" cards. I say they're wrong. The key difference is that brilliantly, you can feel the pack for Mr. Gold (and others). If you don't feel him, you move on until you do. Unlike with the Baseball cards there's no financial loss, only time. In fact, you walk away with an increased understanding/knowledge of the product through tactile feedback as well as a strong sense of investment in the genre as you've "become so good at figuring out what's in the packs!" Kids love that last part. So you don't find Mr. Gold...now you/re mad at LEGO for putting you through this turmoil of excitement and despair. You go on the internet and give them a good what for publicly and then you lie to yourself about how cheap he will one day become because that's how you were burned by Topps and creeper wax pack iron guy 25 years ago. That's fine, it's your right, but where will you be when the next Series comes out? Ahhh! That's right...you're a pro feeler now...you've become so familiar with the product that it takes you less and less time to apply your new tactile super powers to that new set of smiling minifigure images starring back at you while you crinkle away at those glossy packs. Oh yeah, you're hooked and you love it. In the back of your mind you think about your collection and how someday you may find the disposable income, or flip enough sets to justify the cost of completion with that elusive Mr. Gold. Those forgotten feelings of despair creep back, but by now you've already thought of the special case you will keep him in for display since the cost was so high and your justification mind washes away the despair... ...well played LEGO...well played.

  20. make your offer anyway, you'd be amazed at how many people think that saying "I've already got an offer of XYZ so you need to beat it" works 90% of the time they come back and say "oh well that guy fell through, i'll take your offer" generally at that point I say "well i'm sorry i commited some of my funds, i only have "75%" of my initial offer" I've been buying and selling stuff pretty much my whole life and one thing I know is that if they crawl back, they can't afford to crawl away

  21. I see this as an easy $200 set soon after it disappears. Especially with the complete-the-scene aspect of the rancor, and the barge, and the skiff, this is the centerpiece to it all. Further, its quite fun to build the set out and expand it. Many folks have done that and shown awesome results. If i were to come into Lego 2 years from now (and how many star wars fans will be coming back in 2015?) and found out i just missed this set? I'd drop 200 quickly for it.

  23. Was at my store this weekend. I was surprised to see that the HH was not on the shelf. I asked and was told that that they had 3 in the back. She said that they received a memo from corporate to pull them from the shelves. I am not sure if this means anything. It could just mean that they are using the space for other items until it gets closer to October. She also told me that they will not be getting more Sopwith's (not on Planogram and they are out) and they will not be getting more Town Halls. Just passing on information...

  28. I will take a UCS Tumbler anyday over some crappy sets with different minifigures just to justify their purchase.
    1 point
  29. I've been reading a handful of comments elsewhere on the net discussing the possibility for this UCS Tumbler and let's just say they seem rather 'negative'. Honestly, I don't get what there is to be so upset over. Sure, I would like to see other important DC characters actually get some time in the spotlight but Batman does take it away easily especially with kids much like all those Police sets City keeps coming out with. This upcoming model may not be based on the 'traditional' Batmobile but then again the older UCS Batmobile wasn't either and come on, the Tumbler is a pretty badass vehicle and having a large scale detailed build of it sitting on a shelf in my room would be super awesome. Besides, Lego only released a set last year with the Tumbler driven by Bane so it isn't far out of our minds and I personally am itching to see a way better version than that 'junior' one. Anyway, I do not see any reason for this to not happen or why it should not. The people elsewhere who are saying this UCS Tumbler "should not happen" remind me of the same persons who were actually willing to boycott Lego completely simply because of The Simpsons. You know what? I have a much easier and simple solution for these people. When the product is released, speak with your wallet and just don't buy it. -End of line-

My wife totally thought "The Man Upstairs" definitely reminded her of me (without the Kragle of course) She laughed the entire time of that portion while looking at me,

  42. They weren't BN exclusives - they were at TRU, Amazon, etc. Not that anyone will listen, but can we please not just say things like you know something. "This set is coming back, it is because this..." or "This set is done. Its gone" whatever. GIve your opinion but some people are writing things like they know, like they are true and they actually have knowledge of them. None of you do without some logical proof. If you don't have that, please just offer things up as an opinion. Some newer people may take things out of context from people who think they know and really know nothing. And in my opinion, unless you are the people who actually make the decisions, you are only offering an opinion.

  43. People that know I love Lego continually keep telling me 'did you know there is a Lego movie coming out?' which cracks me up. Still, I think the best benefit for investors is overall growth/desire for Lego. I think the movie will push people to visit S&**** and see what kind of awesome themes/sets there are, and hopefully become addicted. Then we take these addicts and feed them secondary market fixes.

  45. This question comes up on occasion. I honestly think part of it is the fact that casual toy buyers don't even think to buy direct from Lego. People are accustomed to buying from Walmart, Target, etc.

  46. Sorry this is so long but I just can't take the stupidity and complete lack of common sense anymore! I need to vent! So back a week or two ago when Target was giving the $10 gift cards I ordered online 2 of the big Coast Guard sets for around $55 each, plus the $10 gift card. Pretty sweet deal, I thought. When I got my delivery one of the sets had a big dent near the top. Not too terrible, but bad enough that I threw it in the back of my car with the intention of exchanging it for a non-damaged set the next time I was in Target. So that next time was today. I go to customer service with my damaged box and receipt and explain the situation. No problem, I'm told. I just had to go get the new set off the shelf. As luck would have it, I got the last set on the shelf and it was in perfect condition. I happily skipped back to customer service (i didn't really skip). The woman at the register starts to ring the sets up to do an even exchange. I was running late to pick up my son and was a little annoyed she didn't just trade boxes with me, but I politely went along with the formality. As she finished scanning the sets, i slipped the new set into the bag I had brought the damaged one in. I was all ready to say my thank you and head out the door. I just needed my receipt back and she was still holding it. Next thing I know she says I have to pay $10.65. Huh??????? After scratching her head for five minutes, the genius behind the register tells me I have to pay the in store price, which is $10.65 more. Again, huh??????? I don't think thats right, I tell her. I just want to replace the damaged box that Target sent to me. Nope, she says, you have to pay the $10.65. I'm not paying that, I say. She gets someone on the phone who, after she poorly explains the situation, agrees with her! Where is the common sense??? Its the same exact freaking set! I now am forced to wait another 7 minutes waiting for the Assistant Manager. I was hopeful Assistant Manager would have some common sense, but of course, she turned out to be about 12 years old and there was no way she was going to disagree with the stern looking 50 year old cashier. I was so fed up with the stupidity that I was about to just say screw it and return the damaged set and miss out on the great deal. Then I thought WWWD (What would Willie do?). And I got inspired. I leaned over to the cashier and told her to give me my f-ing receipt before I punched her in her f-ing face! (I didnt say that, but I was thinking it as I reached over and swiped the receipt out of her hand). She and Assistant Manager simultaneously started warning me that I couldn't leave with the non-sh**ty set until I paid the $10.65. Then arrest me, I said as I headed toward the door with the new set and my receipt. Assistant Manager calls security, who greets me at the exit. Here's my receipt I tell him and here is my set. Im leaving. Assistant Manager flies over to us and tells security not to let me leave because I have to pay $10.65 for the set. Security repeats what Assistant Manager said. I tell him to either arrest me now or I am leaving. He gets all nervous. He looks at me, then at the steam coming out of Assistant Managers ears, then back at me. It was as if he was trying to figure out what would be worse, incurring the wrath of Assistant Manager or actually having to do something with me. I guess security dude really doesnt like to actually do anything at work, because he told me I could leave. Poor dude. I can still hear Assistant Manager screaming at him
