Tell me I`m not the only one who would want minifigs sold like this in the Lego isle in the future? Forget foil packets, Lego should make some extra-nice (pardon the language) figs with exclusive printing and sell them individually. At the very least, do the CMF like this with insert cards. They`de sell like hot cakes!

So you tell us that you don't care for the sets that we posted, ask everyone else what they want, but you don't even say what would be interesting to you that will make it better.

Sorry, I'll be sure to add some Duplo sets.

The other thing to remember here is that there's so much diversity in the secondary market, it's probably pretty rare any of us are actually competing. Unless all you do is buy cheap and sell the next day, odds are your method is unique enough in time and place that never your paths shall meet. For example, let's count all the ways to sell a Funhouse. I can sell each figure. I can sell one lot of heroes and one of villains. I can sell all the figs plus the batcycle. I can sell the funhouse with no figs. I can sell the bricks in lots sorted by colors, then the manual, then the stickers, then the box. I can auction the sealed set starting at .99 or I can BIN at 45, 50, 60. I can flip it right now, or I can hold it until eol. After eol on a set, the Lego market seems to dictate that supply is irrelevant. As long as the set is popular (not a dud), the demand is there. Edit: of course, all this is possible because Lego controls the supply from the manufacturing end of things. And with supply limits come purchase limits. I for one am glad Lego is proactive in this regard. A tighter primary market should mean a tighter secondary market, which means fewer sales for the same profits for all of us.

Willy -I caught your message as well. I have learned a lot from this thread. I will be more careful with my purchase quantities from now on - but that will require me to modify a strategy that was making a great return. I have also learned to use the ignore user feature. Some posters just troll too much and don't offer any good advice to balance it. This will come off harsh to some but I know many will agree - I don't need input from people who aren't at my investing level or above. I am trying to advance and grow my business, and I want to share with people who are doing the same or are already at a high level. It reminds me of when I was big into online poker. The forum I participated in had micro, small, medium, and high stakes sections. Because the people playing $2 no limit don't need advice from those playing $2000 no limit and vice versa. (please note that is just for example and not in any way a suggestion to organize this site. It wouldn't really work in this setting)

If people don't want any of the sets on offer maybe try taking one as an "investment" which is the purpose of the site after all, you don't need to like the set personally. You also may be able to use brickpoints to pay fees for listing items in the upcoming brick classifieds if that is more to your liking.

Think of LEGO investors and resellers as professional athlete's that all perform in the same sport. We might be competitors, but we are also affected by the same rules and share similar experiences. There is a camaraderie among us and must deal with similar playing conditions. This topic is important to all LEGO investors and collectors. Those who say it does not matter are either lying or have little or no money invested.

Built the Batmobile and The Two-Face Chase (6864) while my son played this morning. I opened up that extra bag #2 I received with my Batcave. It didn't have the little bag of odds and ends in it, so the extra Poison Ivy doesn't have a head and I had to improvise a little. I think he'll like it when he wakes up. I added a closet for his extra suits, an extra baddie holding cell, and a place to park the Batcycle. Yep, that's Mr. Freeze on the walkway...

hmmm. gotta love target. when you least expect it, nearly or fully retired sets come out of the woodwork. orc forges, maersk trains, potter castles, and black pearls. advice for everyone. try to order in units of 2 or 3 to minimize order cancellation and damage during shipping.

Buying 50 medium to large LEGO sets of one type is a gutsy move...maybe some would say foolish even, I don't invest that way, nor do I recommend others to do so, but it is a viable strategy for some. Banning a person for buying within the rules is wrong. Banning them for circumventing the rules is acceptable, as long as the rules are posted and clear for all to see. While many of us are in this for profit, most of us also build and enjoy the sets. Those who just use LEGO bricks as a commodity will gain little respect from many LEGO fans, but they have a right to do so, at least in my opinion. What is my main issue with all of this is a sort of erosion of freedoms and capitalism in this country(US). There is a touch of Socialism mixed in with the limits set forth by retailers IMO. It's similar to the "spread the wealth" idea. I don't want to make it sound too political, but if a person wants to risk their money buying 50 LEGO sets as an investment, they should be able to, Little Johnny will still be able to buy a LEGO set. There is no guarantee these sets will appreciate. Heck, I'm sure some people bought 50 Prince of Persia sets thinking they were "Da Bomb." Why don't the retailers complain when a person was buying up the terds? Even LEGO was happy to unload their B-Wings(even though I like the set), I didn't see any mass suspensions for that sell off. Just my two cents...

For anyone who has said or is going to say something like "Amazon must be starting to crack down" or "This must be a LEGO directive", just stop. Amazon has been doing this for a long time, and it isn't restricted to just LEGO items.

Unlike S@H, Amazon clearly stated purchase limits on their site and expect everyone to follow it. Due to their prices, Amazon is known to put strict limit of purchase on their most popular items. This is NOT unique to purchasing LEGO at Amazon. Just be smart and follow their rules. Amazon often has the best prices so loosing access to this site is a much severe consequences than loosing access to S@H. ETA: Also unlike S@H, Amazon usually sends a few warnings before permanent ban so please heed their request.

I changed the title. We are not going to add hundreds of sets. It will just be some solid core sets in different themes. So once we get an idea of what others are looking for we can add a poll to this topic to get feedback on the favorites and add them.

Those big dump trucks are nice, you just have to wait a couple years for them to reach their peak if you want top dollar. I like the buy if you have the room and desire to store these for a couple of years.

retail on this set I believe was $35, so that is 50% off of a retired set. I cleaned out my shopkos on this set after Christmas when they had them marked down to the same price you have been offered, but I had to pay tax, which you won't have to. I wound up with 17 of them, and I feel good about it. construction sets have always done well for me, provided you wait a couple of years to sell them. if it was me I would buy them.

I am amazed at the prices this year - I haven't even seen any low priced ones slip through the cracks (as has been the norm). Who would have thought that the pre-sale listings for $400 each was a bargain?

Pretty much the same for me. Decent parts sets at best. I haven't seen ball-and-socket joints that small either, and I don't remember ever seeing that 'bush' piece on the yellow guy in that color before let alone in a long time at all. After seeing some of Quacs RoboChickens, I wonder what could be done with those 'googly' eyes! :)

LOL, just insist that you're REALLY into water scooters, and she can take it or leave it.

They can't sell licensed figures like that due to their licensing agreement. If they do, it stops being a building toy as opposed to an action figure, or however their classification goes. They did have a work around briefly with the magnet sets, which for a little while wasn't actually glued together meaning you could pull it apart and just have the figure. That was why there was a flood of key Star Wars characters for a short period of time, before Hasbro I believe caught wind and made them stop. Of course, they are able to sell their own minifigs like it.

I resell a lot (mostly used) so my son gets to see lots of things new and used come through our house. He loves Star Wars and Superheroes stuff right now but little legos are still a bit more than he can handle completely. He loves all the star wars and Superhero figures that I've collected along the way to keep for myself. I have a couple bins of mini figures and mini figure parts that are just an assortment of "stuff" that he loves to dig in and switch out legs, heads and hats. I think he will continue to enjoy both Star Wars & Superheros stuff including legos as there will be plenty of new movies released in the next 5 years that will support that enthusiasm. 4. why?: I introduced my son to Star Wars early letting him watch a few parts of the original trilogy and he's obsessed with the characters. He gets as excited seeing C3P0, Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker on something as he does with Mickey. 5. you feel it's gonna be a long-lasting-love or just a short term interest in LEGO?: Since I've been obsessed with Lego since I was 5 or younger and didn't really ever have much of a gap between when I stopped playing/buying legos as a teen to when I started making money with them as an adult I think my son's love for legos will continue long into the future because of the quality of the toy and the fact that it's something we will continue to love together.

I'm still afraid to let her get around LEGOs, 'cause she puts everything into her mouth... Funny enough I wanted a boy so we would play LEGO (not Friends), toy soldiers, cars etc together (yes, I like those and always hated dolls) . So far so good, small anymals and cars are her favourites. About myself: 1. female, 2. mid 30s 3. Creator (houses), castle, city, may be POTC (ships). 4. I guess I'm still trying to get comfortable with all current themes. I'm just now getting into LEGO after a looong time I "forgot" about it. Since this is a Target Post, A good investment money maker are the Mega Bloks Halo Big sets, Target has the Rhino Set half Price $42.99 I got 14 of them, Toys R Us still wants $90 for them, but the Big halo sets are the good ones. I been buying and selling the Mega Bloks Sets for a few years now, and do pretty good on them. So for $42.99 its a good deal. Ed

My first purchase and build would be R2-D2, hands down. After that I'd go for the 7965 falcon, it's a fun build too. Also check out the Sith Fury Interceptor, that might be my favorite expanded universe set. It's fun to build and pretty impressive on display, plus it comes with Darth Malgus, arguably the coolest minifig ever.
