So back to the old news of new sets, the 2014 Star Destroyer! Something that hasn't been seen in minifigure scale for 8 years. But when I compare the two, I would almost choose the older 2006 over 2014. Almost, but not quite. I think the realistic look and figures are good. However, there's the obvious nagging thing about it being smaller than 2006's. But that didn't really matter since half of the ship was really an escape pod launcher. But is the new half any different? It seems pretty basic for what you pay. Is that set worth $130?  And there's no more helmet changing station either! I had hoped for an improved one, but since the station was on the Super Star I guess they went for accuracy maybe?

My biggest reason for asking is my hope to sell my used 2006 Star Destroyer for more than $160 (I am more a collector than investor, and I still play with the sets, believe it or not, but I sell them when I want new ones). Will this set negatively affect the price of 2006's model? Does size matter? Either way, I think I am going to buy 2014's new one, probably after selling my own one. But should the time to sell it be now or later? Thoughts? 

The AT AT looks great, would also make the better play set with battle of Hoth

Unfortunately snowspeeders which are minifig sized are far too big (3 or 4 times) if you compare them with this AT-AT.

 

 

The snowspeeder from planet series 4 would be very much better in size btw.

The AT-AT will be more desirable until there is a UCS AT-AT, then it's a push.

At - At is easier to display, gets my choice.

4483's value will rocket.

AT-AT. My favorite Star Wars land vehicle. The model itself is pardon the word "cute" and displays well.

At-At (IMHO)

The AT AT is much more "cool" in the movie and I agree that most true fans would want more than one AT AT.

ISD is sold out on Amazon EU and in most places that stock both so I am going with that as an indication of future demand. ISD is like HH compared to AT-AT Vampyre Castle but it suits me just fine if people prefer to hoard AT ATs instead!

I'm looking for 1 only so any combo to lower cost could work for me. I even look at getting a TRU credit card but the palace is pricing this thing at $140 so no go for me. Any good ideas?

It has been since yesterday .  it was also this price at target yesterday where i stacked an 8% gift card on top of the $104 price with instore pick up in tax free NH to get 4 @ $95.53 each (27% off) .   i snagged one at amazon at 104 using some credit card rewards to get it down to 96 after tax.  i am a buyer of this set under $100.  target has jacked the price back up to $112.  target decided to start price matching walmart instead of amazon.  this set will be the poorman's 10030. until they remake 10030. and then it will be just another 7965...

At that price I'd be all in. There's always going to be demand for this ship and there's speculation it will get a shorter than expected production run due to the new movie.

Went for it - probably would have gone for more in the end but stock has been cleared out - here's hoping for a shortened run!!!

Thanks, this is going to be stuck in my head the rest of the night.

Any advance on week 38 seals? I figure there will be one more production run in Europe for this one and then it is gone  - like MF last year.

So now it´s not available to order at any Lego shop, Amazon UK or FR and the other ones have max limit 2. Ebay prices are also on the up.

Hopefully this will stick and the decision to favour these at 50% off over MF´s and AT AT´s will pay off.

same scenario didn't stop me from selling double digit MF 7965's for $250 first and second quarter 2015.  

this set will get to $250 in no time at all as well once stock dries up and the hype explodes in 37 days 5 hours 57 minutes and 46 seconds...
