I read a few of the expanded universe books, I don't recall much else happening on Hoth, but it's been many years and I could have easily missed it.

God I hope this is a true. Hoth vehicles were the best for sure. thats really what I hope doesn't get messed up in the new movies. I want some good vehicles.

Pure speculation at this point. Filming on location in Iceland means very little to a possible Hoth location in the new movie. Even ESB scenes were done in Norway originally. I would suggest that a new 'cold' planet or locale may be in the new movie.

I agree with Lobo about this, especially the fact that Greenland is much more snowy (Which is pretty ironic due to the names of the countries) it would be cool to see more Hoth vehicles, but I think they should be more original.

Have to put my nerd hat on - in the expanded universe Luke & Callista do go back to Hoth and Luke has to face his old Wampa nemesis.  They almost die, but no cool vehicles that I remember.

gf is a suuuuuuper sw nerd and is always looking for news/romors. her up date was that they are plate shooting the highlands and glaciers of greenland

edit: they also have denounced all the books from being cannon. now it appears that only the films and tv (clone wars) will be cannon

With an entire universe to explore, I really don't see what the draw would be for them to go back to Hoth other than making a connection to the OT.  The planet didn't have much going for it outside of the battle scenes.

Soooo.... panic buy of remaining stock of retired 75014 (battle of the Hoth) at TRU? 

They are not going to follow anything in the books. That internet story is the definition of speculation. I wouldn't read anything into it unless some corroborating evidence comes to light.

On a more serious note, I think Hoth sets are collectable already and this won't change things,at-at's , snow speeder, the base.

The MF we have now, maybe he the last one with the original trilogy crew.

I wouldn't expect the new movies to have ANYTHING to do with the expanded universe. I'd be very surprised if they were held accountable to that history.
