I bought one pet shop a couple months ago.  I might get one more before it retires.  I have a feeling it might retired before Christmas this year 2015.  What you guys think..?

I bought 2 of these today from a liquidator store for $90 each. The boxes are a little beat up. I can't tell if the seals have just been stretched or if there may have been tampering. Can anyone verify the weight. I got 2845 grams. I figured grams would be more exact than ounces.

Ok, so what you're saying is that according to Bricklink, both of the ones I got are slightly heavier. I guess I should rephrase my question, can someone verify the weight of a current release of this set, since the initial release was 4 years ago and the seal codes on mine are 27R5. Or is the variation of 25g small enough that you would not be concerned?

I wouldn't be concerned about 25g. Moisture alone can make that difference for a large box.

All large sets have extra pieces. That is where the discrepancy is.

On the other hand, Amazon lists the weight at 6.4 lbs which would make it about 6lb 6oz, and I only had 6lb 4oz. a 2 oz discrepancy is pretty big when it comes to pieces as small as LEGO. I am more than willing to believe in a discrepancy on Amazon's part, but this was kind of why I was asking for some kind of independent verification.
