I am a software engineer and I travel a lot for my work. Once, while in Scotland u found under my bed in hotel a minifigure and my interest in lego reappeared! I consider myself an investor, but I don't dislike buying some sets now and then for myself to enjoy building something new in my spare time. Thanks for reading! Have a nice day!!! Many of us here invest to make money, but there are also plenty of builders and collectors here as well, and quite a few folks who are a combination of all 3 (I am one of them). Glad to hear you are out of the "dark ages" or so the term has come to be for those who have experienced periods of low/lack of interest in all things Lego.
