Glad I completely ignored the "OMG DUMP IT NOW" advice.

I had 9 of these originally, sold 5 for like £245 each on Amazon, soon after the announcement (all sold very quickly btw.) I bought in at around £90 each, so a solid quick turn around, I will keep my last 4 till next Christmas, see where it stands and decide from there.

my experience from LAST Christmas was that the Falcon was very popular, so much in fact that many were actually pricing theirs downward to gain the advantage. Because some bought in so low they were able to price much lower than me. I could not compete. My guess is that is exactly what will happen again.

Actually only sold my 5 like what 2 months ago was the announcement? but I bought the 9 over the last 3 years, between £85, and I think £97, couple at a time, so I just averaged it out to like 90 a pop.

The minifigures are probably what can save 7965, even then, I can see the majority of people getting the new one and buying the figs from 7965 afterwards.

There will be a minority who need to have every iteration of the MF but I really think it will be the minority. The 2 craft are just too similar......

Don't assume that the new MF will be available this Christmas.  If it's sold out multiple places, then 7965 could shine.

I sure hope it isn´t and that I have 50 of them in storage bought at half price!

Interesting that UK values are now outstripping the US - more than 200GBP against  200 USD / 210 euros sold. A lot are coming onto the market now at betwee 230 and 300 euros here  (dunno if it´s to try to get rid of them while there are still people who don´t know there is a remake or to take up positions for new film hype and demand for merchandisig) - will be interesting to see if demand and prices are affected once the new one comes out.

When do people think the sweet spot will be for selling retired SW stuff  short term - now, just before the movie release or after?
