Anyone know of some free websites?

Featured Replies

I really don't know of many free sites, but if you want a very good host that is extremely cheap and will give you free domain names, etc.. I would check out www.arvixe.com   Sites are fast and they have a control panel to automatically create wordpress sites or ecommerce sites.  I know you want free, but who knows what you get for free :)

webs.com

Wordpress

Weebly.com

Blogger.com

I think all of the ones listed above are for blogs, and give you a free domain, but they make you have their company name at the end of the URL if you don't buy a membership/buy your domain (ie. legobrikz.webs.com). I'll just give you a friendly warning...I tried it for about 8 months, but I got bored of it (right?!), right at the peak of visitors (~250 visitors) and views. I used the Wordpress platform but didn't pay for my own domain. I believe that the transition from a free to paid domain on Wordpress is pretty easy though.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I felt wierd asking such an odd question to start with but seems everybody knew something I didn't. :)

It has finally happened, TOK is branching out and creating his own LEGO investing site.

Oh lord, no! This site keeps me busy as heck as is. Like I really need another timesucker.

Blogs or Wordpress? I'm not sure what you intend to use it for but those are free and easy to use

I've vaguely heard of Wordpress and read some reviews as well as checked out a few sites which used it. Might give it a better looksy; same goes for the others mentioned. Thank you.

I will definately give that a serious look, Jeff. I'm mostly going for as close to free as possible just so I don't end up having another sinkhole project on my hands. Without going into way too many details, I had a website through Yahoo for a personal business venture. Needless to say, that 'low cost' ended up piling on to the point of costing me more than it should have.

I don't think anyone still uses it, but Jux.com is great if you just want to show off some pictures and writing in an appealing fashion. No ads, too. You can basically scroll down forever lol.
