Maybe we will see some discounts in the upcoming months?

I think it may be awhile before we see discounts again on the larger sets on amazon, just my two cents. 

I was going to wait on this set anyway, unless we see 30% discounts like last holiday season.

Big while for disscounts. I have three units(one i built for myself). This set is really great, but as so much money has been invested in this, shame there weren't more minifigures, or backside of model(swing open etc). Stomping

I doubt we are going to see any big discounts on it.

 

However, we need someone else to discount it like TRU or Walmrt/Target when they get it and Amazon will match.

it's really a awesome set and don't count on no discount at all maybe 10% and thats a BIG MAYBE.....I would buy it again for $200 in a heartbeat...

Even 10 percent would be ok, now that we can't even use the Lego catalog 10% coupon on this one anymore.

I don't think we'll see any future discounts with all of Lego's new policies and rule changes in place. If coupons are excluding exclusives now, why not third party distributers?

Also, its the same price as lego but keep in mind there is no taxes, but you do loose the 5% vip points, for me i would be saving like 1.75% in taxes in the end.

Jeff and I were just talking about this this morning.  We have seen a shift in sales from larger items to smaller items that are on sale.

This is very cool news for Amazon Prime/VISA card users. Will use the dollar points to lower the cost of Orthanc. WBshop.is sold out of course.

Regarding Amazon UK, this is being sold by a reseller rather than Amazon direct so, they often speculate.  However, I'm surprised nobody is cracking down on the RRP (MSRP) that Amazon actually quotes on other sets, isn't this fraudulent?  Isn't Amazon direct a LEGO retailer rather than reseller?  Buying LEGO wholesale and then ripping us off with false RRPs is taking the piss don't you think?

Doubts about seeing this or larger licensed exclusives happening.  If they do happen they will be very difficult to catch.
