Seeing how we are well within the year which shall be closing in just a few months, how about a little poll to gauge public opinion on each and every offering for the year of 2013. ^_^

Notice:

All themes listed as well as the questions posed are only for anything released in 2013 with the odd exception of The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey as those sets were released right at the tail end of 2012 at the beginning of December making them more of 2013 sets really. The theme of Creator also covers it's subtheme of Expert, and the two factions in Super Heroes are separate because of the complete diversity each one has.

This is a multiple choice poll so you are able to select more than one answer for each question.

1.  Star Wars as usual

2.  Lone Ranger!  I didnt get any of it yet, but I will around Christmas time.

3.  New Castle.  Nothing exciting about it...

I would add in Modular as a separate theme option.

Surprised at how down people are on Lone Ranger.  Maybe the movie sucked, but I still am a firm believer in the Western theme.

I love it, but let's be realistic - first, there are not that many sets, second - other then the train they are not that special.

lone ranger stage coach maybe best stage coach created in any western sets.....

lone ranger stage coach maybe best stage coach created in any western sets.....

Completely agreed shizzy - I think the stagecoach may be the best seller of the line too.  Great minifgs on this set as well.

Hero Factory sets aren't even on my radar at all - it's like I don't even consider them for either investment or personal collection.  There are plenty of the main themes that I ignored - castle, friends, galaxy squad, etc, but at least I look at them and consider their prices if they're low enough on discount.

None of the themes can beat Technic in 2013, specifically 41999 :money:

Seriously, I don't even know which sets came out in 2012 vs. 2013, but I would think the new Friends' sets (the Cruise ship and High School) look pretty awesome to me.  I also happen to like Lord of the Rings sets, probably because of the recent Wally and Target clearance sales.

A little hard to choose the investment winners, the usual suspects have stood out though, but I'm a little down on the Star Wars recent releases.

Which themes do you believe offer the best investment potential altogether?

Creator

The Hobbit

LoTR

LR

Architecture

Technic

CUUSOO

Which themes have you enjoyed collecting for yourself personally?

Creator

The Hobbit

LoTR

Star Wars

Which themes do you feel have the least either way?

Castle - Never got into the theme

Galaxy Squad - Coolish vehicles, meh investments

Chima - Need I explain?

TMNT - Cool minifigures, not great everything else

Friends - I can't get over the non-LEGO looking minifigures

Hero Factory - I have a few that I picked up for $2 a piece, but beyond that, it seems like repeat after repeat.

Obviously galaxy squad is going to blow these other themes out of the water.

You can browse by year at Brickset or Bricker. Those quick links will automatically have everything from 2013 listed.
