SSD $359.99 ... GO GO GO!

Featured Replies

heh, guess they finally got the hint after all those messages about a lower price...

I just can't bring myself to purchase anything I wouldn't build myself if I somehow got stranded on an island with it.

Is this a personal preference thing that you just don't like it?  Otherwise I'm not sure I understand.

Uggh.. Wish Amazon didn't collect tax in CA...

Same here in TX. Tax makes it $390. Pffft. If this set is around Black Friday, there might be better deals. If not, I'll probably just stick with the one I have. I got it cheap on craigslist, can't see buying any more of them for such a measly discount.

I am passing on the SSD. I don't have enough capital and I frankly don't really care for the set at all. The only UCS I actually like is R2-D2.

oof.  Just got the SSD and 2 helms deep.  My wallet is noticeably lighter.

Think I'm passing as well.  Too much gray and likely a pain in the rear to eventually ship safely once I sell given its size.

Basically same conversation here. I think If you have the capital you shouldn't pass, but I would wait for a more significant discount. There will be better ones.

Also CA taxes suck!

I'm not even mad about passing on this. And if it soars to great heights, I still won't be. If you guys like it, go for it though!

I blew my load on the cheap Imperial Shuttles this morning. I still have plenty enough for an SSD, but feel like I might be better off holding. I'll make a decision by tomorrow if they are still in stock. If not, no big loss.

That..sounds...so...wrong...

Right there with you...

Thanks for the heads up, but I think we would all benefit if most of us showed a little less enthusiasm and a little more self-restraint.  10% off is better than full price, but nothing earth-shattering.  If we all keep jumping at the small discounts, amazon doesn't have any reason to ever make them more substantial.

I had to grab one, this was my first and I really want to build this monster. Better to be safe then sorry right? Actually I will be sorry when my wife receives it.

That Imperial Shuttle is pretty sexy, though. Not worth sacrificing a mint box over. You'd never be able to iron out the wrinkles...
