Damn, this set looks so lame. I'm not a huge fan of these sets. I feel like there's not much play value left as everything is so fixed in place already.

I look at these sets as being something equivalent to the thick kids books they have at the front of every Barnes and Nobles that have a story along with a set of minifigures and a play mat.  I still have a huge stack of those from when my daughter was younger.  I never really understood them until I watched her play with them for hours on end.

If I see one my daughter would enjoy (this is not one of them) at a good price, I'll pick it up & save it for the next time we go on a trip. The walls of the book effectively make it a tray to be able to build on a plane, etc. (I think we're up to 3 of them and she's yet to lose a piece while building.) From there, it serves as a good imaginative distraction during downtime. Once home, she lines them up together on her shelf.
