picked up a bulk lot and found some unusual color pieces. the seller had a lot of Harry potter and Star Wars but I can't tell if hear are from those themes. sets included in the lot are 8-10 years old (ie the first Harry potter sets) any help is appreciated sorry-seems like my photos images were too big...ill have to edit and repost.

Try looking for the Lego part number on the underside of the parts and putting them into a website like Peeron or Rebrickable.

The main colors for the older Harry Potter sets are Gray, Tan, & Sand Green. There are 3 smaller sets (4721 4722 4723) that include many odd colors (lots of pastels & orange) - See the stock photos below.

Life on mars also has sand red and sand purple. Those came out in the right time period

Hit it on the head!! That's where the pieces came from.
