I wouldn't go off of that, this set is still very new, the earliest I could see it going eol would be the end of this year, it will most likely be around another year.

So its about a year people were already thinking it was going EOL...

Few bigger online stores had it on sale here, some are out now and says not available anymore.

So any ideas?

No one knows, but my thought is its definitely the next one to go - probably when the new wave comes out later this year.

Still 999+ on amazon.fr :(

It think it will be hard to have a winner for Xmas 2014, we will have to wait Xmas 2015.

Unless kids want it to play with this summer ?

Actually it is still on the order list from LEGO. So it will run to next order list in october. At least here in Germany. Maybe not in other countries.

There is no commercial sense in retiring this set until the Volvo front loader is launched, otherwise you have nothing that offers the servo motor or IR kit and since the Unimog left there is no 4x4 either. Generally, flagship sets take more than 2 years to retire so I would expect this one to go between this August and Jan 2015 - it may also depend on sales of the 42009 and 42030.
