I saw an article about this and I decided I should share it with you guys/gals. There is a new animated Lego movie coming out called.... "The Lego Movie" by the Warner Bros. (I'm pretty sure they could have came up with a better name.) (: Anyways, the movie is slated to be shown in U.S. theaters on February 7th 2014. (Shown in 2D and 3D.) The cast includes Will Arnett from "Arrested Development", Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson from "Taken 2", Alison Brie from "Community", Nick Offerman from "Parks and Recreation", and Elizabeth Banks from the "Hunger Games." The directors/writers are Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. (21 Jump Street, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.)

Considering the popularity of Lego and the star-filled cast, I think this movie will do great. What is your opinion about the release of a Lego movie?

  • Did you try selling them some of the sets out of the trunk of your car? I hear they sell like hot cakes that way.

Liam Neeson was also Qui Gon Jinn. (once in a Star Wars movie will always be type casted such as Harrison Ford will always be Han Solo ect...)

I personally see it as an unnecessary risk on Lego's part.

If the movie were to bomb, I could see it tarnishing their top quality image. It "should" do well & might be great - but I don't think that the risk/reward is worthwhile.

Can't wait for this one. The trailer was great. Thanks for sharing emazers!

I agree. The cast is going to be great IMO.

Morgan Freeman!  I do like the licensed tie-ins.  Is anyone else looking forward to the sets sure to come from this!

Today I noticed that Netflix had some Lego "shows". Not only the Ninjago ones but also an Atlantis, Friends, and Bionicle. The Atlantis and Friends were better than what I had thought.

Did anyone else catch Morgan Freeman holding a sucker stick?!?  Every kid's Lego box is filled with trash, and this is awesome attention to detail by TLG!

There is just one 22min "episode". The same as the Atlantis. For the Ninjago there was the series but also two separate entries both at 22mins. My guess is they were the test episodes to see if there was a large enough crowd to create more.

So fun, I cannot wait to see this!  Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs stills gets played monthly...those guys have a wicked sense of humor.

I especially love the stop-motion/CGI hybrid look, no offense to TT Games, but I'm getting sick of smoothly animated lego characters.

Same here on all that. I will always go for stop-motion over computer generated graphics anyday. Although I will also always go see Pixar's work like their latest, Monsters University! :D

Can't wait for this to hit theaters. Awesome how they can mix all the licenses into one movie regardless of which universe they preside in.

Now the real question is.... Which sets will the movie drive sales of next year and are any of them going EOL before then??
