Nice! Most people make mosaics out of tiles, why did you use bricks?

Higher resolution. Plates on a side allow for more detail than tiles.

How much?

Around $220. I shouldn't have used very light gray, it is only available in 1x1 plates. I used about 900 of them.

Also, I don't know who sent me a pm, but it said my inbox was full even though there's nothing in it.

What software did you use to build the mosaic?

Is there a list of programs out there to assist in designing and making customs mocs/artwork?

I used PicToBrick: http://www.pictobrick.de/en/pictobrick.shtml

It can take a lot of editing to get the source image to be perfect for mosaicing. Needs to be contrasty and evenly lit across the photo. I had to do a lot of touch up on her face to get enough contrast for Legoization.

Wow, that is incredible! What a great idea for a really different, but very personal gift. You did a great job - both on the mosaic itself, and being able to break the link and give it away! Bet the happy couple were chuffed to bits with it.

I'm already happily married to my hubby, but if we ever renew our vows, I am totally making you and your wife my new best friends!!
