This is live now on lego.com for a 2 week window (and was live for a bit on shopDisney). I'm thinking there might be a high inventory of this available and the race to the bottom could be quick? I actually want to get multiples because I like this set so I'm thinking maybe wait for direct purchase vs gwp?

Exactly my thoughts as well.

To me it's definitely tier 1 level GWP

However, the long availability window and the relatively low threshold and the oncoming Q4 promotions with likely repeat availability has me steering away.

Otherwise, this is $60-$80 Walmart/Amazon potential if one and done and sells out

If it's a 1 and done like Books Are My Passion it will be great....It was a low threshold at $120-$130 if i remember correctly and boy has it done wonders

The long availability window and possible rerelease has me wondering if it's worth it as well

Since GWPs can't be listed on Amazon anymore, the resale appeal has gone way down.  I used to buy a lot of sets just to get cool GWPs to sell and offset some of the cost, but not any more.  It will be interesting to see just how big of an effect this has on the future of GWPs.

Will Lego hold back some Shuttle Pods for BF weekend, or will they allow them to sell out on Insiders Weekend?  I really want to wait and pick up that Hot Chocolate Stand set - it's a great Winter Village addition (particularly with the WV set being another crappy train this year).

I can’t recall LEGO holding back promos in the past.

For those that ordered Bricklink Designer sets during the last round in June during double vip points. I spoke with Lego CS today about the missing points and they said they are actively working on updating all the accounts with the extra VIP points manually and to check back later. Hopefully that's true, and hopefully this saved everyone a phone call.

I chatted them a couple days ago and the rep just added the points for me.

Nice! So with the Enterprise 3 GWPs and a Reward. I sold the Minifigures for $225 already. I’m finally going to cash out some points before the end of the year. This is only my 3rd Lego store purchase this year other than the 2 BLD sets.

Which minifigures are you talking about?

The 9 from the set since it is not minifigure scale. Warf looks good might have to pick him up later on BL. Not sure if I will sell the shuttle. The designer, guy that does the SW UCS sets, said they wanted to do a minifigure scale transporter room with Miles O’Brian that would have been awesome.

That would have been outstanding!  It makes you wonder where O'Brien will pop up.  Will they only make UCS-type sets for Star Trek, in which case we might have to wait for a huge DS9 set?  Or will they make smaller, more detailed sets, like the Enterprise bridge, engineering or the transporter room?  There are so many different ships and so very many characters in Star Trek - because of all the TV shows, it's really a much deeper well than Star Wars.
