Also had an epiphany. It is a book, so outside of the LEGOLAND Discovery Centers, could this be a B&N exclusive? 

It's possibly a B&N exclusive completely. They had the Potter 4 mini-figure set to themselves (I think)

Just got off chat, originally they charged me for the promo, but they refunded.  Then I realized that I had 69.99 of HP lego, and 2 minifigs that weren't HP to get me over the $75.  Oops.

No stores in 100 miles of me have stock in store.

Picked up 4 at a local b&n today. Had to ask a bookseller to look them up she brought 4 back from the storage room in the back. And I asked if I could buy all 4 she obliged and said “there aren’t any limits so go for it”

YMMV. But if you are near a b&n today it’s worth an ask

Secured a few by picking up the phone 

With this somewhat significant increase in supply, where do you think they'll be at next Christmas? For sure in the short run they'll be down a fair bit.

There are 2 at the N. Darmouth, Ma store if anyone is close. Too far a drive for me for only 2. Call and reserve though. Lady offered to hold if I wanted.

Dammit,  I just started yelling into the phone about monster books.  Peopling is hard.

I did call smart ass. They didnt have any but I went and checked just to double check.

Lol. I asked about the set . Like others said they are in the back room and not on the shelves for the most part . They will let you reserve them . 

Hit two B&N near me.  Store one had 8 on shelf.  I did not push my luck by asking for more (I was holding three when I took the pic).  Store two said they had received 9 total and I got the last two (pulling them out of the back).

Nothing shows by local tracker and store says they can see them ordered in system but not in stock.

These in-store sets are nothing but a "blip". According to Wikipedia there were 679 B&N stores in the US last year. Each store gets 8-10 sets, so that makes 6500 sets. Add maybe a few thousand that were available online and you get a total production run of 10k.

Provided these don't see wider release, this should do really well. That said, I'm still not seeing the minifigure pack climbing much in value - hovering $45-$50 on Amazon for the last year+.

Sold one to a lady this morning for $85, Big HP collector, and she mentioned that she knew from her online group that they were available in Japan earlier, but that no one from "harry potter collector land" knows anything about how/when/where they will be available in the states.  When they contacted me, they asked for pics to prove I really had it in hand, and looked it over when the bought to make sure it was the real deal.

 

For those who found them at local BN's, were they $24.99?  Plus, I just looked on Amazon aaand 0 zero, nil, listing for this set. How is that possible, lol.

Does any one know anything about when this set will make it to the EU?

according TO BRICKSET, these were available as GWP online on LEGO EU. with a 75 EURO spend. I tried ordering various HP products at LEGO sites in the EU over weekend, and this did not come up in basket. I eventually paid £72 for one from a UK seller who had sold 25 already. Not sure where he sourced his from.

I don't think I've seen in at the EU SAH site.
