like most of us, i grew up with lego and now that i have a kid i find myself buying legos on sale. i tell my wife they are for him but i think she knows better. it may be a few years before he is old enough but i am very pleased to see that if i buy two of each set, i can give one to him and in 5 years sell the other to pay for it! i look forward to participating in this site for years to come. it is very interesting to see how popular my favorite toy is

Of course, he was about 3 years behind me at the University. That kid was a stud and would have been our qb if Eric Crouch wouldn't have been here. Little inside info for you, Bobby actually beat out Eric for the job when they were freshmen, Crouch went back to Omaha and pouted about it, and the coach at the time, Solich, chased him down and gave him the job, and the rest is history. Crouch did pretty well and won the Heisman, but Bobby was damn good too, and was very underutilized at the flanker position. Were you from New Mexico? I think that was where he was from.

I dislike the Packers but when they made it to the Superbowl a few years back I did sell my 2 parking spaces for 3,000 dollars a piece to some lovely people from Green Bay so I really can't complain........sigh, if only I was into LEGO then :(

yes that is where I was going with that......he is a close friend. I have been pretty lucky to know some very famous people, Brian Urlacher is also a close family friend as well Coco (don't know if you know who she is) the Macks might have seen her out and about.....her and Ice T have a condo in Jersey that they spend most of their free time at.

thats doesn't surprise me. packer fans travel VERY well, and will pay top dollar for tickets at lambeau. every season i obtain 20 extra tickets at face to various home games here and have no problem selling them for 3-4 times face value. next to lego, packer tickets are my other form of extra income.

1985 was the first World Series I remember, and can still recall 1987 and 1991 from elementary and junior high for the Twins. We were so close in 2003 before blowing it to the Marlins. We will suck again this year after losing 100+ last year. IT DOES NOT COMPARE!

I see your point, but I still disagree. Since the 85 World Series the Royals have not even been to the playoffs and have only had one winning record. At least the cubbies have been to the playoffs this century! :)

Hopefully that'll change either this year or next! Being cautiously optimistic, with the extra wildcard and a completely revamped pitching staff, chances are much improved. I will be disappointed if they don't finish at least above .500 this year. Diehard Royals fan since fan since before the '85 WS.

Hmmm. Anyone hear about the goat head that got sent to the Cub's owner, Tom Ricketts?? My dad is hoping that the curse is lifted... Went to a game today on a school "field trip". They did ok, but the weather was miserable, and they lost again. ;(

If there are any die-hard Cubs fans and want some gloves that I got today from the game for FREE, you can check this out. I give you my personal guarentee that they were not spat on, licked, or used to pick my nose with. (I use my sleeve for that!)

Also I am pretty sure that they were not sold and are fairly hard to find. Just saying! :-)

I was on a Wrigley rooftop on Sheffield for Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS. I distinctly remember counting down the outs to go to the World Series. my wife was actually in the ballpark at the game. With five outs to go, a foul ball was hit into the stands, and the rest is history...
