Curious how in-store stocks are holding up since it seems that many online sources are drying up -- good for resellers and any of us LLQF's
LEGO SAH makes it easy to breakdown by price and what's in stock (once you eliminate the items that are not buildable sets -- i.e. STEM kits, EV3 modules, etc... that still show in the list even though you specify "Sets" in the filter).
Here's their status (US market) as I measured:
Price Range, Sets Available, As a Percent
>$100: 18, 23%
$75 to $100: 13, 19%
$50 to $75: 17, 26%
$25 to $50: 27% (stopped screening buildable sets, and just divided available into avail+sold out+backordered)
<$25: 36% (includes key chains, dots, etc...)
So, looking at the serious sets >$50, that's less than 50 sets across all themes. If SAH is the canary in the coal mine, I would expect the other B&M retailers to sell out soon.
I suppose on another positive note, it should be easy to identify the turds
I'll add some of the B&M online stocks:
Amazon ("LEGO", sold by Amazon.com, building sets, Prime eligible, LEGO Brand): 313 sets, 104 over $50***
Walmart ("LEGO", retailer Walmart.com, building sets and toys, Deliver to Home eligible): 281 sets, 77 over $50***
Target ("LEGO", building sets, shipping available): 334 sets, 93 over $50***
*** Note: doesn't include sets on sale <$50 that are RRP >$50
I'll try to update this list again every few days to see how the supply is holding up.
