Changing Batteries in Dinosaur

I have an old dinosaur from set 7297 or 7476. It barely lights up any more. Is there any way to change the batteries?

    Is there any way you can open the head?  If not, I don't think you can get to what powers it.

    I don't see any obvious way to open the head. It seems really lame to make something with a battery that cannot be changed.

    I looked around the net for an answer and unfortunately there does not seem to be any way in opening the head without resorting to some drilling and that was only a mentioned possibility.
