I found Waldo! He is disguised as a helicopter again.

I get that police stations are perennial rehashes. But the bank and mobile command were pretty disheartening to see.

That bulldozer is like the "street machine dream" of construction vehicles. Great to finally have some new overalls prints even if the prisoner stripe garb lies beneath and seeing the wielding torch get more usage is always good. This umpteenth version of the Mobile Command Center is the smallest yet though very little space left empty like prior editions and the Police Station has an interesting layout. Overall the designs look fun with "something new, something borrowed". I spot Chase McCain making an appearance yet again with this High-speed Chase just like the last one though I cannot tell what will make this iteration unique.

LEGO seem to be running out of ideas like Hollywood. Great for kids but, not for us

No surprises here I guess. It's Police, so remakes are to be expected. Maybe they'll do something interesting with one of the other subthemes.

I hear they are going to do coast guard again too.

City is always going to be repeats with the occasional gem. But even the "gems" are going to be subjective and not necessarily a good investment.

I'm tempted by the £25 Car Ferry as it seems an unusual set.

That's why I've just offloaded all my 60011/12/13/14/15 Coast Guard sets. My buy-in was about 33% of RRP so I still made good money selling them for 75% RRP but, it took a while to shift them. I'll NOT be touching the theme again unless 70% or more off RRP. They rarely reached RRP after EOL even now so buy-in has to be extremely low.

I'm hoping the Volcano sets aren't redone once the current 60124 retires, as I couldn't resist the £29 buy-in (RRP £79.99) from Tesco last weekend.

I'm looking forward to the CITY vehicles as the recent Logging Truck, Camper Van & Airport Fire Truck did very well. They're also easy to post Worlwide.

I may certainly be bias since Trains & related layout decor are my personal collecting passion, but the thing Trains seems to have going for it is there's a real devout niche following. All those various scale model trains guys seem to have migrated to LEGO over the past 10-20 years as the boutique hobby shops have died off.

That doesn't mean its a 'great' investment or huge growth, but it should continue to make sets like 60052/60098 a reliable low-growth mainstay. And given so mant guys want multiples of the same wagon (i.e., a train with 6 cattle cars), they should remain good candidates for parting out.

Sure looks like a new piece.... it's more obvious in the box photo.

*Yawn* I like the auto transporter, I guess. The bank is a huge step down from the last bank (3661) though...

It is the slope cone nose whatever piece introduced in 2012 with Francesco Bernoulli from Cars 2 minus the printed décor.

I am going to get the bank. The fact that City is starving for buildings alone justifies a purchase. The rest is the same old, same old.

I know, there also used to be a similar bank, but at least it has been a few years since then.

All the other Q1 sets have now been revealed.

 

Check that umbrella piece.  That looks new.

I really like the ? Truck. In for 10.. or 30 if Kmart is still in business next year.

The part has been around since 1993 but seldom used being barely included with 18 sets. (Technically older as it is the classic Fabuland umbrella but with the proper LEGO logo on the top stud.) Now if you meant the color that is somewhat true with the current year the first in Lime with the 60110 Fire Station. Ah, I see Phil B has ninja me. Touché.
