Hi everyone,

first time posting on here. Ordered a Slave 1 via Lego online and it was a bit damaged on arrival so sent it back for an exchange. The second one arrived in the post yesterday and there was a thumbnail sized bash in the corner. Was planning to keep the set unopened. Do you think a minor bash like this will affect the value or am I being a bit over the top with my concern. Have been in touch with Lego again and they have offered another swap, but am wondering if I'll just end up with another slightly bashed box and get stuck in a never ending cycle of returns. I've attached a picture so you can see.

Welcome to the site.

That's pretty common. The only way to avoid this is to purchase in person...

Personally I wouldn't bother too much about that, unless you're planning to sell it as mint. I've seen these in a few Smyths stores in the last week so another option would be to go to Smyths and pick up your own box (if possible). The Smyths price label should peel off easily with no residue left on if it hasn't been on for too long.

Well I was planning to save a few boxes and potentially sell in several years time and this warning of them, so I take it it's not mint in box and potentially sell for as much.

lego seem to have very good customer service and have given me some free points and are sending a label so I could always send back and try one more time.

Anyway thanks for the replies so far. It's a good site, and the world of Lego seems like an exciting and complex place!

It depends on who you sell to, it matters to some but not others. As long as you stipulate any damage clearly in the listing I would not expect the damage shown to affect the final sale price. There is an ongoing thread that covers your concersn in more detail

That's not that bad. If you do this long enough you will see far worse than this. I would just keep it and move on.

Ok, thanks everyone. Finally decided to keep it. It's my first big Lego buy and so perhaps hypersensitive after sending so much money (for me) on Lego.

Good call. Keep it. You will always come across pedantic people who quibble over anything. When you sell it down the road just add the pic you have shown and say it comes in original LEGO outer box with a little storage dent. You won't lose any money on it.

Thanks for the heads up with Amazon customer service.  Just called and got $17.00 off of my dented  60092 Submarine Building Kit.  I wasn't sure what to do since the side and corners were all dented in.

$17.00 off a $39.99 item... WTH...

I think this is nothing at all. It s not even a given to find a better one than this (if this is the only issue) at Lego store. And to be honest the crease could happen anytime in the trunk when you are on the way home.

I think it's ridiculous...

Well I certainly wasn't going to turn down their offer
