Just received the below order status message from Minifigures Plus.  Anyone else receive it?  Not sure what I want to do, either cancel or just keep the order.  I was looking forward to getting sealed cases to keep for collection/investment.

We apologize for the inconvenience but unfortunately we were notified by our supplier today that our stock will be shipped in the hanging strip-style packets. We will of course guarantee the exact same box distribution as the standard packaging. Since the black display case will not be included, if you decide that the strip-style is not of interest for you, please let us know. We will take it upon ourselves to cancel your order and refund it in full. 

We will be contacting our suppliers to receive full assurance that new shipments will have packaging guarantees. In our experience, the packaging of Collectible Minifigures is not a significant issue to our buyers. Since we are aware that there are some who prefer one or the other, we want to maintain our promises with every pre-order.

We hope that you will continue shopping with us and we will do our best to continue offering lower prices and quality customer service.

I got the same message. I replied and cancelled. I was expecting two sealed cases, not the hanging retail display. I wasn't going to open either case. Oh well. I guess I will try hunting some down in the wild.

No. Hanging plastic strips.

If they do mean those pictured above they do not have the regular distribution so I wonder how they will make complete sets. I got a case of those from target for Simpsons series 1 and they were mostly marge and only 1 of the ones that were supposed to be 3. 

On a good note for those of us that got sealed cases this can only help their value.

Perhaps minifigures plus could clarify.  I'm not sure what "hanging strip style" is.  I was thinking it would be the vertical retail displayed above, but apparently that's not the case.

Same message for me. I've seen the hanging plastic strips in some stores - usually around checkout lines or registers.

That's lame. If I was buying them to resell individually it probably wouldn't matter, as long as they sent three complete sets plus the 12 randoms that each case contains. Mine were going to be left sealed though and sold a few years from now as a case.  I have no idea how they can guarantee the same distribution with these strips. At least they got out in front of the situation by sending the letter and option to cancel, otherwise I'm sure they would have a lot of unhappy buyers wanting a refund when they receive these strips instead of the sealed case they were expecting.

I agree. I'm not sure they can guarantee this as I've never seen it before...

I'm really leaning toward cancelling like Terry has already done.  I gladly paid for 2 sealed cases knowing that it might be a month or more before I actually received them.  This is exactly why I do not offer preorder sales on eBay.  I have seen to many sellers get negative feedback from not being able to deliver goods as promised when buyers paid weeks/months earlier expecting to receive a specific product.  Although it may be due to a manufacturing, distribution, some other issue, you end up losing trust from your buyers.  It is to much risk in trying to sell something before you actually have it in hand.  

If it is in fact those hanger things, i'm definitely cancelling multiple orders.

I passed up a sealed box at Target that I had them bring out on the 1st, because I had pre-ordered one of these.

Will definitely be getting a refund, as I just wanted a sealed box for investment.

 

Interesting... minifiguresplus still listing PRE-ORDER - SEALED LEGO 71010 Box/Case of 60 MINIFIGURES SERIES 14 ...(at $249.49)

They've only changed description to eliminate the words: "Colored display boxes ship inside original LEGO packing boxes".  And they don't specifically state how the product will be shipped. That listing title still would give me the impression that I'm getting a retail case of 60.

That is a very good point.

SON OF A GUN..  I just cracked open my two sealed box case sets!  I could have just left them and let it ride at that price...  So, think the case boxes will be worth something? 

Damnit. I got the same message. I would cancel if these damn things weren't sold out at Lego shop at home. Kinda bummed about not getting the display box but I guess I can live with it as long as the distribution is the same.
