Is this a good deal (trade or sell a Horizon express)?

Hello to all

I have a brand new Horizon Express set.

I have received to proposals of trade,

one is to trade to a old Batcave set (used but complete)

the other a viking boat (7018) new but with box in bad shape.

What are your though about this. My main intent was to sell, but if the other sets are more searched then the trade is a good deal.

BTW - If anyone wants the Horizon, just let me know. :)

Trains generally do well but HE hasn't been gone long enough to see growth. I think your best bet it to hold onto it for a bit longer...

After it hit retirement the HE peaked on ebay around 220-230.  after the hype died down it dropped a bit, but is starting to gain ground again.  There are still a lot of HEs available though and probably will be for a while, so it will likely see a slow but consistent gain. The Viking ship is a lot more rare and harder to nail down a price.  Available asking prices are high but not many sales, and they are selling well under the HE.  The used batcave could be worth more right now, but I think the HE will gain value faster.

If you are looking to off load it now, and you have a reliable trade, then the batcave may be a better bet.  But I think the HE being MIB is a stronger investment.

If a person wanted the first original Batcave, this is a good way to get one.  I would consider the trade for sure, if you want one to build.  I don't follow the 1st Batcave prices everyday, but this seems pretty good if it's complete.
