April 26Apr 26 Shelby Cobra:Build 9Display 7Play 5Value 4This is an amazing build with two new to me techniques and a bunch of SNOT brick sub assemblies that I really enjoyed. Only 3 stickers that are all easily applied. Should have come with a Shelby minifigure instead of a trophy and tool box. Now that we have Mattel to compare to the biggest let downs are the wheels with mismatched rim hubs, imagine if these were metal, and the exhaust tips are atrocious should have been metallic silver like the rest of the parts. The engine build is really simple with no working transmission. Finally, it is smaller than the other more recent icons cars and is definitely overpriced for $160.I would still recommend this set if you can pick it up for $120. Edited April 26Apr 26 by Pseudoty

May 3May 3 Four Weapons Blacksmith, I was able to get this set for $60 during the Kohls sale but this is what a $100 Lego set is today with 1259 pieces and 6 minifigures one of which is going for $40 so not a bad deal. Supposedly the set is very true to the show but I have never seen an episode so I can’t comment on that. The build starts off amazingly with a SNOT brick built base and surroundings that is complex and top notch. The cobblestone floor is a “groundbreaking”technique not seen in much more expensive sets. The set is kind of reminiscent of the medieval blacksmith but on a smaller scale, but then we get to the roof. The roof is 5 of the 12 bags and is lackluster and repetitive but looks good although it definitely could have been more ornate. A few easy to apply stickers are included as well. There is really only one play feature, an “exploding” hidden map and then imagination. There are a few really nice easter eggs tucked away in the walls of the set. I think kids will love playing with this one. Build 8 10 for the base/first floor and 6 for the roof so overall an 8Display 7 primarily looks good from the frontPlay 7Value 6I would pick this one up if you can get it for 40% off but even at $80 it is pricey.
May 6May 6 Good one for the kids, lots of minifigures and only 2 stickers that actually look great once applied. I need to get the $300 15th anniversary set to finish out the series but probably will pass unless it goes to 40% off. Build 8Display 6Play 7Value 7

Lego needs to make a periodic table of elements.YMMV Target in store 70% off. Edited Thursday at 01:06 AM3 days by Pseudoty
1 hour ago1 hr F1 Helmet. I don’t know anything about F1 but bought this helmet at full price $89 with 15% CB from Rak to experience what was supposed to be the best building experience that Lego has to offer and it did not disappoint with the exception of a few issues. This set is so over engineered and has almost 100 pieces more than the next two F1 helmets coming out that are the exact same size and cost the same. The printed elements are next level and even the few stickers look great, pro tip wear gloves when applying the visor brow to avoid fingerprints on the seperatly packaged element. Side note I am not a fan of the paper bags especially the small ones.I was missing a piece that was swapped with a wrong element and had seen this issue in other reviews. Luckily I had one in the Wall E hand that I could use. Imagine if you were a F1 fan and wanted to give Lego a try this would have been an issue as you would have been unable to continue until the replacement arrives. Some of the 5 star reviews on Lego have pictures and their builds look janky. This set uses a lot of clips to attach sub builds and getting them aligned perfectly can be tricky as you can not see the attachment points. There are a few fiddly parts but overall the set is very sturdy. This is definitely an advanced build. The only other negative is why does the Hamilton minifigure not have its own helmet. I guess I will have to borrow a red one from a Speed Champions set. This set looks absolutely amazing in person and is truly a next level display piece. Hopefully it goes on sale but even so it will still be priceyBuild 9Display 10Play 2Value 4 Edited 1 hour ago1 hr by Pseudoty
