I like it, too. Kind of a hybrid between an F-18 and F-15 with maybe a touch of something remotely GI Joe tossed in.

If this set comes with Maverick, Goose or even a Kenny Loggins minifig, I'm all in...

Wings, horizontal and vertical stabilizers (angled and rear sloped) look like F-22, but the body lacks some flatness and... an engine. Maybe a bit of F-35 in there?

It reminds me the 5892 set:

Sorry but I'm not impressed by this design. It looks solid but the design is poor for a 2015 set IMO.

You beat me to it.  But to me 5892 looked more commercial, while 31039 looks a bit more militaristic.

Will 31039 have light brick like 5892 ? 5892 had 2, I would imagine 1 on 31039 since it only has single exhaust.

PS: This is the 2nd 2015 set that I thought would be great with light bricks included.

Reminds me of a moderninzed Thundercracker.  Cool jet regardless with definate military lines.  Lego loosening up on that perhaps?

Classic.

I wish the guys had put together a "Team America" part two. Such a great movie.

A couple of months ago we had a local department store that had a pricing error. These retail for $90AUD and we could pick them up for $55AUD a week after their release. Think I grabbed about 6 or 7 for Xmas
