60045 - Police Patrol

I have a general question about this set. I noticed that it only came out in 2014 and it is already in sold out status in Lego SAH. I thought only sets that are about to retire move to that status. I'm a little confused. Do Lego City sets retire quicker?

    Sold out doesn't mean retired.  Often sets sell out then return.  Some city sets (great vehicles in particular) only last a year.  This set is not done yet, but that is simply my educated guess.  Police sets in general are not good investments.
