Can anyone share with me their experiences with selling on Amazon.   I sold some stuff years ago and am now thinking of listing some items on there again.  I know their policies and prices have changed.  I am getting tired of the ebay fees and more the people purchasing on there trying to scam.  I am wondering if it makes sense to sell and ship self, or if there is a way to send them all items and fulfill for you.  What are the cost benefits or lack off from either way.

Thanks for any information or experiences.

Part of me wants to know at what point they would cancel those on their end when you just ignore their messages

We will find out. I'd guess a pending late shipment on their metrics is worse than a cancelled order, but maybe I'm wrong.

Last year at about this time some of us started seeing Lego sets becoming gated or requiring an approval to sell without the possibility of applying for an approval. When January came around all those gated sets became available to sell again. I have not seen any report of holiday gatings happening yet. Since Amazon is known to change the rules of selling on their site year after year I am starting to think that it may not happen this holiday season. What are your thoughts ?

Oups, I am off by a month. It was October not September. You can still share your thoughts about holiday gatings. Are they coming or not ?

Has anyone recently upgraded from individual to pro plan? What was that process like? How much time did it take? Thinking about bumping up to pro from Oct-Feb then downgrading after the holidays.

Not seen anything about selling in toys category during holidays either. I think they dropped it last year?

True. No more holiday gating on performance. That's the reason prices didn't spike for a lot of legos as lots of just launched sellers got the buy box and hogged lego listings.

I guess eligibility criteria for buy box is non-existent now. This is across the board not just toys.

Is that confirmed? They may just be late this year? It is a surprising tactic to not gate toys after years of doing it.

Supply chain issues will do wonders for eliminating barriers to sales. Amazon needs to hit its sales targets after all

I have really not been watching the news. How are supply chains still messed up? Lego had significant inventory last year. This year should be easier?

There was no gating performance metric for the last holiday season. I see no reason for amazon to implement one this year as greedy as they've gotten.

Serious?  Everywhere you go things are shorted.  Maybe you've just been lucky in what you buy regularly?  🤪

Every week we are shorted on our deliveries.  We stock up and whatever we can to avoid it but it's impossible to predict and be safe from it.  Lego had shortages last year, as they do every year -- regardless of economic/supply issues.

I'm not the only one that still doesn't have the new account health rating, am I?  I have been seeing other people post stuff about it everywhere, but still no numerical score for me.

The last three FBA packages I’ve dropped off at UPS don’t have any weight listed on the receipts. Is this a new thing anyone else is seeing?

They don't always weigh them at my UPS drop off...

How does this work when a package gets lost in FBA inbound or receiving? Doesn't Amazon want to see how much the item weighed as part of the proof you shipped something?

UPS still weigh at their distribution/shipping centers, just not at stores anymore.   You should still see the weights when you go to tracking page on their website

Nice of them to not consider account history with the new Account Health system.

They should have added in a point system based on years of selling on the platform.  Basically you can only increase your score by selling more stuff.

So I found this useful article on the amazon forums regarding the new health metric

All new sellers start with a score of 200.

Because they have no sales and no violations.
200 is the baseline
Points are …

deducted from your AHR score each time we find a new policy violation, and;
added back when you successfully address that violation.
Point values for each violation are based on severity level and typically range from 2 to 8, though critical violations automatically bring your AHR score to zero.
(I guess we’ll only know what violation is what value when sellers post them)
Also, if you violate the same policy multiple times, in some cases negative point values double per repeat violation.
To ensure your AHR is evaluated in context of the size of your business, you also gain 4 points for every 200 successful orders you fulfilled over the last 180 days.

Bottom line: we all start at 200 and work our way up!

532 could = No violations; 16,600+ successful orders within the 180 days

311 (odd for no issues) could = (seemingly a violation for 1 point); 5600+ successful orders within the 180 days

244 could = No violations; 2200+ successful orders within the 180 days
